Lovely campground, and we stayed 50 feet from the water. It was great to be able to shower in the morning. We stayed at Mazama Campground the next night and decided we'd always stay at Diamond in the future. It's much better - more woodsy, beautiful, and secluded with less dust and better amenities.

We stayed here during our visit to Crater Lake. It was the perfect distance away if you dont luck out with a camp spot inside the state park. Our campsite was so picturesque and right on the water! Being right across from the bathrooms had its pros and cons; the neighbors were a tad noisy at night. The water splashing on the rocks at night can either be music to your ears, or keep you up all night. No mosquitos during the first week of September but as soon as the sun goes down the flies, moths, etc come on like crazy! Our citronella candle turned into a flying bug graveyard and you couldnt have light on without being bombarded. The trash cans were super protected and the showers were alright. Overall, worth the money.

I stayed at H03 and it was incredible. The campsite was clean and was sufficiently private. Its a short walk to the lake if you want to watch the sunset. The toilets were clean and well furnished. Great place to stay if you are looking to visit Crater Lake as well.

Diamond Lake is really cool. Great mountain views and decent fishing. We lucked out on the smoke which I think scared some people off as the place was pretty empty. There was an algae bloom so we didn't swim which was a bit of a bummer but camping lakeside is really nice. Plenty of trees for hammocks and great shower facilities.

Stayed in B loop during late August. Fishing wasn't great due to the algae bloom, but the weather was spectacular. However I had truck engine troubles and had to leave for repair--this ended up taking several days out of my trip that I couldn't avoid. Terrible! But the camp host John was so awesome he not only helped me find an auto repair nearby (Well I say nearby, but since this is so rural the closest is in Crescent haha), he also watched out for my camper while I was away. Such a great dude.

Nice campground with large sites and most sites if not lake front have lake views. Biggest negative is a lot of the sites/driveways are on a big slant. If your RV or trailer is much over 20 this will be a leveling issue.

After lodging complaints over the past few years, I think this may have been our last visit. 2 different households travel 4.5 and 7 hours with hope to enjoy the great Diamond Lake which once was.While the general area is replete with outstanding natural beauty, the campground has been increasingly neglected. 1. Sites are left trashed for the next visitors. Sites used to be "groomed" prior to new arrivals - no more.2. Toilets are in decent shape but the men's urinals continue to smell and look bad with built up urine scale.3. The bathroom on G Loop (both men's and women's) nearest the Registration Office continues to be without power and lighting for the past few years.4. Picnic tables are in need of levelling. It's hard to enjoy meal prep, dining, and other table-related activities when stuff keeps falling over or rolling away.5. Recreation.gov shows that campfires are allowed, but they are NOT (at least when we visit each of the past 3 years)! If you want a fire to warm you in the chill of the morning, you can only use your own propane fire pit.The only saving grace (that justified 2 stars instead of 1) for the campground facilities that we experienced were the showers. They seemed clean, functional, and with enough warm water. All said, there must be better campground facilities out there, but like I said earlier - This may have been our last at Diamond Lake.

We had a lovely camping trip this August at Diamond Lake. We hiked a portion of the path that goes all around the lake, rented a pontoon boat, walked to the lodge for breakfast several times. We we brought floaties and enjoyed be tossed around by the waves that occurred in the early evening. Fire activity had minimal impact on this trip (air quality was good). We drove to the West Entrance of Crater Lake and enjoyed hiking and incredible views.

We stayed at K33. Its a great spot next to the lake. There werent too many bugs. Restroom is nearby. No soap but theres toilet paper. Had some rowdy neighbors but everything quieted down after 10pm.

After planning my camping trip for over a month. As the date got closer and closer there were horrible fires and I didn't even go. Unforeseen circumstance ruined my experience at Diamond Lake so I will see if I can't get some kind of a refund. I know it's not their fault it's nobody's fault but I had to scramble at the last minute because of the fire and smoke was absolutely horrific.

The individual campsites are very large and the campground is huge (like 100+ campsites). I went during a weekend that wasnt crowded (most of the reserved sites were empty, likely due to wildfire concerns) so it felt very secluded. That might be different with a packed camp. Diamond lake is stunning and my only complaint is that I wished I had gotten a site right along side it instead of right by the road listening to traffic. For anyone reading this, the K section is by the lake and H borders the street.

Reserved spot L9 group spot. Unfortunately, this was not a group spot and could only fit 3 small vents and it was very cramped ( other single spots were a lot larger). The site had a great view and good access to the water for paddle boards/ kayaks. I would recommend 6 people max at this site not suitable for 12 .

Due to the fires in the are we experienced several bears in our campground. There were no warnings even though it was known for several days before our arrival that the bears had been causing problems and did not appear to be afraid of the campers. We actually had one at the edge of our campground staring at us and was not bothered by the barking dogs, air horn we were blowing or any loud noise. We slept in our cars and packed up and went home the next morning. We had reservations for 7 days but due to the danger, we only were there for 2 nights. Camp host told us that the ranger called off the trapper that had been on his way.

Campsite H-46 is horrendous, thats where we stayed because it was the only thing available when we booked, when we arrived almost half the campgrounds were empty but they had signs showing reserved. H-46 had no picnic table and is literally 10 feet from the major road in and out of the area. People were frequently going 45-50mph on. The campsite is also on a hill so when we were trying to prep food on our coolers and stuff it was all sliding down.

Beautiful, spacious site at the lake. The bathrooms with showers were new and very clean. It would have been nice to have some hand soap at the sink. There was a convenient Internet cafe with a skyline near our site which was convenient when planning our excursions.

CONS: If youre booking campsites dont trust the campground map, its way out of scale and doesnt show the main road thru the campground. Also theres serious elevation between the lake and the furthest sites. The sites themselves could use new gravel and some labor-theyre tired. Pros: Campground Hosts were awesome, washrooms and showers were clean and in great condition. Scenery was fantastic and the lake, and camping sites along the lake were amazing.

The space was great. Right on the lake. We saw ducks, squirrels, otters and bats. Lots of bats. As soon as the sun goes down they come out. Be prepared to duck a few times as they come right at your head :). Mosquitos were bad, not horrible but definitely have bug spray or something. The bathrooms close to the campsite are portables, but they were clean. This site is pretty private too. The showers are hot and clean for the women. My husband said all the handles were broke in the mens bathroom so he got a cold shower. Overall great. We plan to come back and stay at this site again.

I was only there for a couple hours due to a wildfire. Spoke with the ranger who gave me an accurate and honest assessment of the fire. So, I left. Campground was evacuated later that day.

The site was next to the restroom so it's not the one with the most privacy. Right next to the lake, pretty view, a lot of bugs.

Large site away from others. Campground had clean bathrooms and was nice and quiet.

Diamond Lake Campground is right next to a beautiful lake, some campsites are quite nice, others are so-so. The showers were clean and hot, but the shower heads leave a lot to be desired. Barely a trickle of nice warm water, or an intense blast of much too hot. The site we stayed at was on a slope with a tiny area for a small tent and was extremely dusty with loose dirt rather than a layer of nice pine duff and there was micro trash all over the site. So, I rate this visit as fair.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
