Great location. The view is fantastic and the camp host was the best. Hiking around the campground and up to Cecret Lake was the best. It was a very good experience and will go again.

Such an amazing beautiful place. Wildflowers were in full bloom. Easy to get there and was very quiet in the morning/during night. Only con was loud children in surrounding campsites but what can you do .

We love Albion Basin. Its one of the most beautiful and accessible spots to camp in Utah. We don't love that you have to book 6 months in advance to get a reservation.

Beautiful campground. Bugs were plentiful so make sure you bring spray. Camp hosts were kind and made sure bathrooms were well kept.

Great spot. Awesome views of the ski resort. Close to trailhead. Some construction was happening when we stayed there, not sure how long itll be happening

We had the most amazing time camping here! The night we got in, we saw a momma moose right alongside the road as we were driving in, and she has her baby with her. It was amazing!! We hiked Cecret Lake, which is a "must" if you stay in this area. Just watch the trail closely once the switchbacks start or you will wind up on a pretty sketchy trail. =)

The campground was excellent. The views are spectacular. The area is all around beautiful. The only negative of this campground is the proximity to the cecret lake hiking trail. We had people hiking through all night long including a group that came through at 1 AM talking very loudly with no respect to the campers.

Camping at Albion Basin was excellent. The campground is kept in excellent condition by the hosts; the bathrooms are clean and well-cared for. I enjoyed hiking on many of the near-by trails and enjoying wildflowers, boulders, and small streams that were prevalent due to the considerable winter snow. The hosts take good care of the campground and make everyone feel welcome. Thank you!

Very well-kept campground. Excellent location in the heart of Alta, Utah. Abundant hiking trails and a nearby lake.

I love going to Albion Basin yearly because it is quiet and peaceful. I was happy to get in since we went up late this year, and normally there are no vacancies. The vaulted toilets are as clean as can be expected for bomb drops. The host has been the same for as long as I have been going there (8 years). She cares about the campground and campers and is always friendly and helpful! I live in Sandy, but I go to Albion Basin to get away, while I continue to work during the day. I do take a couple of days to go on some of the beautiful hikes, Cecret Lake is my favorite place, and when I go early, I am the only one at the lake for a good 20-30 minutes. I will continue to go every year!

do not like paying extra money out for my daughter to drive behind us to help us set up camp . my husband is handicapped and needed her help.it seems like the city of ALTA does not care about the needs of the handicapped. they only care about making money off people using a bad maintained road. they are not using money to fix the road!

Large campsites, spread out through the trees. The campground host was very helpful. Facilities were well maintained.

What a gem of a camp! We only spent 1 night there traveling from Moab to Yellowstone, but it was out favorite camp site. It is well cared for, and well maintained, spacious camp sites. Beautiful hikes from the camp site, Cecret lake is a must ... We would definitely return for more days next time )!!!

Loved being right next to the trails. The wildflowers were magnificent. The campsite was clean and partly shady. Easy access to restrooms and water.

We were really looking forward to escape into the mountains for the week and enjoy the quiet serenity. Unfortunately, during our stay it sounded like a downtown Salt Lake construction site during the day. Extensive terrain work was occurring adjacent to our campsite with heavy machinery and trucks passing constantly. There was also some dynamite blasts. When we tried to escape to Cecret Lake, we were met with weedwackers and a scuba diver. The campsite was well maintained and site 8 right next the creek is idyllic, but if you are looking forward to silence, you may need to call to see if there is any work going on at the same time. I understand the importance of these projects, but it was still a bit disappointing.

The good: 1) The campfire pit had a metal grate that could be placed on half of the firepit. We were able to put tin cups on it to warm up some hot cocoa. I wish we had brought more wood though - not much loose wood on the ground to use. And the firepit was the only cooking option on site (no standing grills for briquettes). 2) It is a very pretty area. Star gazing was spectacular - we even saw a shooting star. 3) The bathrooms had TP. I will say that. Cleanliness will depend on your fellow campers. Many people might prefer having a Lowe's 5-gallon bucket lined with a trash bag and a $10 toilet seat from Walmart's camping department to use instead though. 4) There is great cell phone reception and data was only moderately slowed (which is good to know for emergencies). The bad: 1) At 5am (pitch black outside) some guy started walking up and down the gravel road that leads to all the campsites, while talking loudly about his interests and his awesomeness. He woke a lot of people up. A female camper asked him to quiet down, at which point the guy became argumentative with her. My point: we had no recourse to deal with this guy (especially when caring for kids) unless we were prepared for potential confrontation. In the heat of the moment we could not find a phone number for the park ranger to address the situation. If this middle-of-the-night idiot wanted to stir up trouble, there would be a lot of barefoot, PJ-wearing sleepy heads he could mess with. Lesson learned: know the number to call in the event of a problem. 2) The road that leads to the campsites is all gravel, and there are some hilly areas. Anyone walking or driving on it will be heard for decent distance. But also, we saw a mini van towing a small trailer get stuck on one of the smaller hills (the gravel was deep enough that it made it difficult for the van to get traction).

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
