I stayed only one night during mid-week. It was quiet and peaceful. Restrooms were clean.

Great clean spot. Only downside really is not having water available at the individual camp sites. 110v power would be nice also.

The camping sites at Russell ar very nice. The showers are hot and the bathrooms are neat. The bugs are not bad at all. The beach is very nice, but closes before sunset. There are a lot of nice rangers, so security is good. I was very impressed and plan to camp there often.

A great location that is close to Austin and Georgetown. The men's restroom could use some maintenance (two of the toilets leak from the pipes onto the ground when flushed) and it does not look like the restrooms are ever cleaned.

We love Russell Park!

Hosts were great, park is beautiful, site 7 was wonderful. The hosts were freindy, gave good advice, active, and even had some firewood ready for their guests. The park is beautiful, lots of wild life (deer, racoons, eagles), great hiking, lake. Site 7 was nice, very private and secluded.

Campsite 21 - great views, quiet neighbors. I wish the camp sites were a little further apart and/or some vegetation to create a sense of privacy. Tmobile cell service was decent, bathrooms not too far. Coveted area with a picnic table was great and we made use of both the fire ring with grate and bbq grill. I'll be back for sure!

Pros: Excellent hiking, decent facilities, level camp sites.Cons: No enforcement of quiet hours, noisy neighbors, bright lights, and a heavy scent of lighter fluid.We left at 10:30pm after the folks in the adjacent campsite decided it was time for drinking shots and embarrassing/risque card games. No chance for seeing the stars because they had interrogation lights beaming down on their table. The park doesn't answer the phone after 5pm. This is our second attempt at trying to like this park. Aim for staying during the week and avoid the weekend party crowd.

We have been going to Russell park for several years for a family camping trip. The past two years the park has had "squatters" at multiple campsites. This year we came back to our campsite and saw two police cars at a campsite down the way. We hear later, from a "squatter" that he was "acting weird during the night", running around and scratching on tents. Not what you like to hear when you're camping with multiple little kids. The bathrooms have been in poor condition. The boys said their restroom had fecal matter all around the toilets. The park host is a strange bird that just randomly walks around "cleaning" the beach. And making sure the only two campers there during the week have a vehicle pass, even when they don't need it due to a campsite. Anyway. Have camped a lot, and fine and dandy with strange birds, but lake Georgetown has become less and less a place I would take kids for a camping trip. Just uncomfortable with them walking to the bathroom or not sleeping in a tent with an adult readily available.

Fantastic group site. One of the few in Central Texas with such generous occupancy and vehicle limits. All of the facilities are in great shape.

Space was big enough for our reunion. The only downside was that the electric plugs weren’t working and the ranger was unable to get them working. I think they need to be checked periodically to avoid this issue. Thank God one of our nephews had brought a generator that we were able to use.

The campsite was clean and offered plenty of space. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our camping experience.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
