We enjoyed our time at the campsite. The staff were friendly and the campsites were clean and nice. I will say the facilities need a lot of work. If you are planning on showering just be prepared that there is not great showers. Either no water pressure or a pressure washer. You have to press a button which gives you about 1-2 minutes of shower time and then repeat. You also cant control hot/cold. Really hard to do with littles.

The park as always is nice. The big issue is the Trees hanging over the roadway that do damage to the RV roofs. These need to be trimmed asap. Most of the need is common since park maintenance -Please trim the trees!!

Jim Hogg Park located in Georgetown, Texas has been the most exhilarating park I've come to enjoy camping, hiking, view the lake, utilizing the restroom facilities with showers (awesome), taking evening walks around the park for the beautiful scenery, and wildlife (Deers). The staff and volunteers always display the highest level of professionalism, outstanding customer service with a smile, plus provide an abundance of information at your request. Let me tell you my favorite sites starting with site #83 very shaded area as well as across from the restrooms perfect site, site #80 is a Shelter that can accommodate an RV or Trailer, and a total of 4 vehicles, plus inside the shelter are three platform beds (bring your own sleeping bag or mattress), a ceiling fan and lights, a desk that can be used for cooking or setting up your electronics items, 2 electrical outlets near the desk, the front door has a combination look (code is given in the email), lots of space. All around the shelter it is screen in so no bugs will enter, also there is a latch lock from the inside this site as well is close to the restrooms, site #117 is a favorite as well very shaded you can drive or walk to the restrooms as well as the dumpsters for emptying garbage. Site #80 and 83 or closet in walking distance to the dumpsters. You will love your stay here it's so peaceful, quiet and very secure by the ranger patrols. Beautiful scenery before arriving to the entrance of the park. Amazing beautifully built homes with deer's wandering around eating grass and crossing the street so be careful even if the speed limit is 40 mph think of the deer's safety. Enjoy !

Jim Hogg has upgraded their dump station, providing 2 rather than one, which has sped up clearing out on the weekends. However, like most of the Core of Engineer sites, I have visited, they are way past due in repaving their sites and roads, and in doing more to get their sites level and expanded to provide more room for the trailer along with the steps to both reach asfault. Also, It would be a big improvement to provide sites with full hookups including sewer.

Our first visit here. Absolutely beautiful and so relaxing! Deer were all around us. Even saw a couple of roadrunners! The water was clear and cool. Will be back OFTEN!

Gate attendants were very rude and made it seem like they were protecting the white house. A man drove around on a golf cart constantly staring at the people camping and was taking notes. Never experienced such oddity at any by other camp facility

We booked two sites using our senior pass discount. After arriving, we were told we had to pay extra money. Also, the parking situation is very poor. No one wants to leave their boat in a distant parking lot.

It's always a nice visit to Jim Hogg Park. As the crow flies, we live only 11 miles away, so it's nice to have a space like this so close to home. Randall's (Albertson's) is right up the road, so we never have to stock the trailer before going. We park, set up, and then we get groceries - it also gives the camper time to cool down while we are out. There are also restaurants close by, and a shout-out to Phoever Diner next to Randalls for great Vietnamese food.

It is a very nice park. Quite and relaxing. With food and restaurants close by. The bathrooms and showers need some updating.

We stayed in 70-79 area. Lots of shade close to restrooms and overflow parking. We have a 36ft 5th wheel. Easy to back in and had 50 Amp service. You can see the water from this area (we had site 72). We were with a large group. Area is clean and we'll maintained. Be aware of chiggers and other problem bugs. Spray your ankles well to keep ground critters away. We like that Jim Hogg is close to Georgetown for shopping,ice and restaurants. The Lake is up! We saw so many folks out on the water having fun. Our visit was the first week of June. Pretty warm. We plan on many more trips to Jim Hogg.

We were attached by off leash dogs x3 / we went to the on and off duty hosts and no one was available to help us and no emergency number to call other than the police / very dissapointing

Great park!
@CARLAVD763073E · Camped on May 21, 2024 at Campsite #37
The grass surrounding our camp spot was over shoulder high and with it that high brings snakes! Even at the camp site it was between ankle and calf high. With the camp hosts there they should have been able to cut the grass. And OMG the bathrooms were completely disgusting!!!. The trails were too high of grass to watch out for snakes and we had to clean out tables the concrete. It could have been better. And the number we are given to call NO ONE ANSWERS

Seems as though this park is in a rapid decline. Holiday weekend, most if not all sites overgrown with weeds. Upon arrival trash everywhere in my site. Had to wash my pad and picnic table down before I could use it. Lack of host presence, only to check my senior pass. Little to no enforcement of rule violations. Pets off leash, children of leash blocking roads, stopping traffic. You would think with multiple price increases over the last few years COE parks could do a better job!

Have stayed at this park at least 4 times and will return. A nice park and the work campers are warm, friendly and helpful.

The reservation site needs some TLC - trying to change a reservation once our stay started didn't work for me. I had a to book a new reservation and it changed ,my existing one, but aside from that, the campground was clean, quiet, staff was friendly and unlike here in CA, they just let you be. The price was right, both sites were great and my daughter and son in law and grandbaby who live in Georgetown came out for their first stay. My daughter want to make it an annual trip now so we will see you all next May! Thank you for having this great location available to us!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
