We stayed in site 61 and loved it. It is super hard to get into because of the bathrooms across the road. We will choose a different site next time.

No gate attendant when checking in and we were not advised that the gate would be locked at 10 pm. We exited the campground about 6 pm to return just after 10:00 to locked gates and requested the park host to open the gate and he refused and we had to walk to the far end of the campground. Restrooms were not updated with toilet paper during our stay from 12/31/24 to 1/3/25.

Nice park, our site had a nice view. Park employees doctored a couple of fire ant beds in our camp when we showed them. Nice people.

Host are amazing and very knowledgeable an helpful. Trees could use trimming and stickers are bad for pets and kids. Bathrooms are clean and camp sites where clean. This is one of our favorite parks to camp.

Loafers west is our favorite place to camp. Always clean. Lots of space between campers. Most sites have a water view.

My girlfriend and I stayed at site W17 on November 15-17. This is a "primitive site" with water only, but it is directly across from a group site with a covered building. Lesson learned, don't camp next to a group site unless you are prepared for very loud partying people with loud music. The building directly across from us was site 18 and had about 10 people there listening to loud music and the Tyson fight until all hours of the night. They are supposed to be quiet at 10pm. They then got up at 8am and proceeded to drink mimosas and play loud music again. I didn't get any sleep, so my girlfriend and I left the park a night early. There were no rangers patrolling and I did not feel comfortable confronting the group for fear of getting knifed in the middle of the night. I spoke to a really nice lady at the project office, Lee Whitley, and she provided some advice for the future on how to handle this kind of situation and offered a refund.

Its been 2 years since Ive been to the campground. Since then the mens shower closest to the main gates have really gone down hill. I was not able to get any hot water and the shower heads/valves were very leaky. Was forced to use the other showers by the RV parking. My next gripe is not so much the campsites fault but a camper in the next cove over from me that felt the need to bring their dog and proceeded to let it bark constantly day and night. This dog ultimately was the reason I left a day earlier than I had originally intended. We all love our pets and although pets are allowed have some respect for the other campers, we are all here to enjoy the peace and quiet. If you are unable to control your dog please do us a favor and leave it at home.

We had a great time celebrating our 56th Anniversary at Loefers Bend West site #48. The weather was perfect and we really enjoyed our stay! The campground and restrooms are very clean. The host was friendly and very helpful! The lake is absolutely beautiful!

The only negative was the amount of burrs in some of the grassy areas. They would get on your lower legs or all in the dogs hair. Otherwise the weekend was very good. Was disappointed over burn ban but park doesnt control that.

Our group site was taken and we were given sites without electric, and no refund.

Beware if you try to stay at lofers Bend west. space #65, and all of the ones in that area are overgrown with grass burrs. So many that it was a horrible experience. We could not make the site work no matter what and gave up. I also tried to cancel the reservation but since it was at check in time (2 pm) it would not let me. Then I tried to cancel the second night, no it would not let me. In all I spent $65 dollars for nothing and made reservations at a private resort. I am really dissapointed in the US corp project. I also tried to call the phone number but no one was answering. The park host could not be found. Lesson learned, I will never stay there again.

The site we were add the road had washed out and was in bad need of repair. Due to this we had an issue using the camp site and caused damage to our camper and their picnic canopy and the park is filing a claim This park was a in need of roadway repair

We love loafers bend. We try to go there several times per year. This trip was a little disturbing. There was no one on the gate. This allows anyone to enter for any any reason.In the world that we live in, that is not a wise decision.
@MikeS6104174 · Camped on Sep 15, 2024 at Campsite #W62
Love the park and the wildlife but the grass was extremely high and full of stickers there's no gate attendants there for people are free to go in and out of the park as they please! Did not have anything come up missing but felt very insecure about leaving without locking everything up! The rest rooms were clean but the covered picnic table were spider and ant infested.Definitely not close to what I expected or have experienced in the past.I hope that the feedback will help with making much needed improvements!

Pretty campground with many gorgeous views of Lake Whitney. No host upon entry, so you are on your own. Very peaceful with an amazing breeze the whole time I was there. Boat ramp on site. Dump station and many dumpsters on site. Sites are mostly level. Some of the sites are pretty close together, so you don't get much privacy, and you kind of feel like you are on top of each other. It's very relaxing. However, there's not much to do in this area if you aren't doing water activities. For the most part, this campground is pretty maintained. The weeds could use some help, along with the low hanging trees and the random trash, but other than that, it's a nice campground.

Such a great camp site. Clean, camp sites are far enough away from each other. It was perfect! If u can go, go!

Perfect camping. Everything was mowed and all went well. Did decide its worth bringing wasp spray. Second time Ive been here and couldnt get near picnic table as wasps build nests under the corrugated canopies over tables. Spacious sites, relatively quiet. People seemed to honor the quiet times posted. Nice place

My husband, family, and I are frequent visitors to Lake Whitney and Lofers Bend West is one of our very favorite places to stay. Very well kept, clean, and great environment. Keep up the good work guys.

Great park and excellent camp host. My only suggestion would be to have a keypad gate to get in after 9 pm. Weve had this at some COE parks and it makes the stay even better.

We had an excellent time. Camped with ease without any pressure.

Trees need trimmed! All around the dump station limbs are too low and drag top of campers. Roads need repairs. Park needs cleaned!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
