Such a great camp site. Clean, camp sites are far enough away from each other. It was perfect! If u can go, go!

Perfect camping. Everything was mowed and all went well. Did decide its worth bringing wasp spray. Second time Ive been here and couldnt get near picnic table as wasps build nests under the corrugated canopies over tables. Spacious sites, relatively quiet. People seemed to honor the quiet times posted. Nice place

My husband, family, and I are frequent visitors to Lake Whitney and Lofers Bend West is one of our very favorite places to stay. Very well kept, clean, and great environment. Keep up the good work guys.

Great park and excellent camp host. My only suggestion would be to have a keypad gate to get in after 9 pm. Weve had this at some COE parks and it makes the stay even better.

We had an excellent time. Camped with ease without any pressure.

Trees need trimmed! All around the dump station limbs are too low and drag top of campers. Roads need repairs. Park needs cleaned!

No electricity at site. No one at gate. recreation.com states they cannot help you when you have a problem. Finally got in touch with a park ranger after driving around to find someone. park is knee high in grass. gate not being manned. gate left open at night and a lot of non campers driving thru. day use people squatting in our campsite. dead limbs not cleaned up. park is not being maintained. leash rule not enforced. other dogs coming into our camp that were not welcomed. its a free for all going on. weve been coming to this park for years.

I would not recommend camping spot 60. Our camping weekend started with us pulling up to our camping spot where about 5/6 vehicles and several people hanging out, in our paid for camping spot. We had to politely and awkwardly ask them to leave our camping spot. From there, we had to pay someone to borrow their mower to mow down the area we were staying. This spot provides absolutely no shade and to top it off by 8:30pm we were without power. We were up until 3am fighting with a generator that we had to drive over an hour away from Whitney to get. The park ranger did however get us setup at another spot the next day which was so great of him. But, setting up camp is work in itself. Doing it twice in one weekend, not so much fun.

The trip would have been good if we would have had attendants at the entrance and also closing of the gate at night so we did not have to be afraid of our stuff being stolen. The whole time we kept having groups of people coming in taking over spots using the electricity and water without paying for it making our trip very uncomfortable. We had very little security also. They better hurry up and get attendants back soon or that camping is going to actually get dangerous. My brother was paid for his space till Sunday but he left Saturday afternoon and we left to go eat and when we got back to our camper a girl had set up a tent with lights in that spot which she did not have to pay for. I know we were there after the flooding, but I think the mowers should have been running in the park where people were paying to camp.

Had my son's 18th birthday party here and it went great. Decided to stay a few more days here and enjoy the view of the lake from my camping spot. Very relaxing!

This park, Lofers Bend West, and all other Corp parks on Lake Whitney, Texas, are in desperate need of attention. They had NOT been mowed this year (2024). The shredders finally came out on Thursday, JULY 11th, then finishing mowers came out on Friday, July 12th. TWO holidays, Memorial Day & the 4th of July and the end of the school year (summer vacation) all took place with hundreds of visitors coming to Lake Whitney parks enduring tall grass, weeds, stickers, dead branches laying around, unable to play on the playground, etc. Also, over the winter and spring months NO TREE TRIMMING was done! Our NEW RV was scratched in several places and so was our boat canopy. Shamefully, people had to bring their own lawnmowers to mow around their campers, just to be able to enjoy their spot. NO PARK HOST was also concerning! Leaving open spots available to ANYONE without a reservation to use. I assume with the deterioration of Lake Whitney Parks, it would be an outlandish request to ask the Corp to meet the desire for more 50amp sites to accommodate the fact that Most RVs purchased in recent years are equipped for 50amps?? As a Lake Whitney resident, I used to be proud of our lake facilities, highly recommending Lake Whitney as a beautiful vacation spot to family and friends. I now hesitate, adding all of the above listed warnings to everyone interested. To the Lake Whitney Branch of the USACE: Please take better care of our parks, as an investment in our Beautiful Lake & the popularity of the Whitney area, it's people and merchants. Thank you for considering the suggestions for improvement in this review, as these are not only My opinions, but also the concerns of Everyone my husband and I have spoken with on our 3 camping trips to Lake Whitney this year.

High water and flood conditions, but campground was great, however never saw one single camp host or camp staff the entire time we were there, except one camp host family who went swimming at the closed boat ramp after ignoring us at the check in area.

Park needed mowing pretty bad and with no gate personnel to many non campers coming in and out at all times of the night. Driving around even setting up fishing camp on the water using generators all night long.

We enjoyed our camping experience at Lofers Bend West. We are newbies to RVing. The Park was very quiet and clean. The deer were in abundance so pretty to look at. We were very happy with our campsite. We will definitely be back.

Amazing campground!! Lots of space between each site and the views are spectacular of Whitney Reservoir.

W27 has an excellent view, but the drippy faucet would not turn on or off. I had to get water from another campsite. However the amazing view and the total eclipse will always be remembered.

Site 46 was level and shaded in the evening. Electrical and water wee both good. The restrooms and showers are across the street, and in good condition, except for the light being out in the men's shower area. Grass needed mowing, but that could be because of Bluebonnet season. Saw the sheriff department officer drive through 2-3 times a day. Vert quiet and well spaced sites. We really enjoy this park.

This is probably the best site on this site of the campground. Did have to adjust in the site (moving further back) to get everything level, but if you stand off at a distance you can see where the level patch is (we're in a 35' MH). Great unobstructed view of the water, and neighboring sites are angled different providing great privacy on the camping side. Bathrooms are definitely dated, and water pressure in the bathrooms wasn't great. We ended up taking showers on the rig and using our dump buddy to go to the dump station (not too far away and a decent dump station).

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
