Visited Clear Lake in November. Our site #3 was not very shady, but the weather was in the 70's. Quiet campground.We used a laundromat in Princeton. Campground roads are in need of repair.

Our Wedding was Beautiful at this place. My wife and I were very happy. Only thing we wish there was a fan and better mirror in the ladies restroom. Other than that everything was great.

We stayed during the week in October and it was pretty quiet with a lot of open spaces. The spots are very well spaced. Some spaces have nearly no tree coverage while others do so look at google maps satellite view to see which is which. (Most all of the spots on the lake front have ZERO shade all day.) We stayed in space 18 and it has a lot of room between other campers and behind it is a big grassy field (great for kids to run around or pet relief area). We didn't fish but our neighbor did and he said he caught a bunch of catfish quite easily. The full hookups worked well and properly. No complaints there. My only 2 complaints: At the entrance gate to get into the park the road there is EXTREMELY sunk in from tire usage. So sunk in that it's scary bringing your rig through there for fear of knocking off a stabilizer leg or even scraping your tanks. There is no way to maneuver through it with the hopes of not hitting a leg because the gates are on either side; you just have to go through it veryyyy slowly and hope for the best. If you have a low setting rig, skip this place. It'd be nice if the city would patch this up or at least lay down some gravel to raise up those dents. My other complaint is the amount of spiders at this place! Now, I'm not one to complain about insects or local wildlife while camping. I mean you're camping after all. We actually like seeing different kinds of bugs. But the amount of spiders here was insane! I backed in, and literally, while I was still unhooking and connecting everything, there were already small spider webs done and built around my tires and such! Lots of cute, cool-looking jumping spiders so nothing too scary and they dont really bother you, but still! Expect to leave this place with spiderwebs everywhere, including inside your rig. When we pulled in, the picnic table was unusable because it was overran by a million spider webs. Even with those complaints, we will definitely stay here again.

Low voltage issues at 2 different campsites. Damaged my AC, even with Hughes Power Watchdog Dogbone. Same thing happened this weekend to my camping neighbors in their Airstream. Aug 3rd. AC breaker kept tripping at odd times, not just heat of the day. Monitoring the power via the bluetooth connection on the Power watchdog allowed me to troubleshoot, but it was too late. Sent the family home due to unreliable AC in the Texas heat.

First, the good. We loved the campground and the proximity to our activities. The views were amazing and the lake was so refreshing and beautiful. Sites were fairly level. The camp hosts (Lisa and Anne) were terrific. Both were understanding and accommodating. Lisa helped us when we were having electrical issues (will discuss in the bad section). Now for the bad. We were in site #11. It was a good site with an amazing view. But..we experienced electrical problems from the beginning. Our breaker kept tripping. The maintenance guys looked at the pedestal and determined that it had experienced heat at some previous time. They changed out one wire and power was restored. We thought issues were fixed but no. I measured the voltage and found that we had low voltage (108 volts). We could not run our AC. Not happy! Camp host Lisa was so very helpful and allowed us to move to another site. Anyway, our overall experience was fair. Please fix the electrical issues and our rating will go to excellent.

Closed the park and had to leave with less than 24 hrs warning, had not rained for 3 days. They Corp of engineers should had been able to forecast better than that.

Nice campground close by Dallas (thus great place to stay with an RV or tent if you're planning for a day-trip into the city) while also being quiet enough to enjoy nature. Very friendly staff. The restrooms were flooded however due to the downpours. Even though the weather was bad, the sunset view over the lake was simply stunning! Would definitely come back!

Lovely campground. Campsites are spaced out and flat. Host greeted me shortly after arriving and made sure I knew where everything was and their rules. Great park.

We had a site on the point overlooking the river and we loved the peacefulness. Only downside was the grass was super tall. Camphosts were very friendly.

Very spacious FHU site. The lake and the views are spectacular. The host was great. The interior roads are a disaster. The gate locking is a problem.

I registered wrong, but Ann helped me fix it. Could have driven away with unfulfilled camping desires, but with Ann's help's I was able to get the full satisfaction of my primal camping need... :) Looks like you get a view of the sunset from every camping spot, and my view was great. Thanks everybody.

Full hookups. Site level asphalt. Nice host. Only criticism is there is a severe need to replace the roads.

They locked the gate to the boat ramp and campers could not get in there before they unlocked it at 10:00. Nobody was at the gate to assist people.

Great location -needs some road repair.
@DavidB5075483 · Camped on Feb 15, 2024 at Campsite #2
I'm very concerned the road is very rutted. Hard to walk on when it is hard to walk anyway. Very easy to twist an ankle or fall. Same with some of the campsite pads. Someone tares them up to fix something then things are left half assed fixed instead of completing a job then just left to sit. Kind of like the repairs in the bathroom. A nearby cemetery is a total disgrace. 117 soles lay there with head markers covered and strewn about. Behind there is more land but is cluttered with a pile of dead trees. Great place for snakes and such. Campers could donate time if allowed to clean brush out and use the wood for cooking. Just a suggestion.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
