I haven't camped for many years and this was my first time camping with my kid. The facility was pretty nice overall, with a latrine, picnic table, trash bin, recycling, and even a bear box. My main complaint was that it was SO LOUD, it took me four hours to get to sleep! People were talking, car doors were slamming, loud motorcycles were driving by on the paved road right next to our site, etc., until after midnight. Next time I'll be sure to bring earplugs.

The campground was clean and the fellow campers were friendly and respectful. Lots of room and new bear lockers!

We stayed for 2 days to mountain bike the surrounding area. The campground was clean and shaded which was nice. Our neighbors ( who took over 3 spots) were not so nice. Blaring music, shirtless shenanigans, firing guns, constantly driving around the campground stirring up dust, and playing movies on a large projector with huge speakers all night long. We saw not one ranger the entire time, which means this went unchecked and they were allowed to torture all others in the campground. Would not reccomend staying in this region.

So much to do! Loved hiking to Upper Sardine Lake and visiting other nearby lakes. The wildflowers were really putting on a show!

Small, cozy campground. Sites and restroom were very clean. Steel that runs nearby provides nice ambient sound. Site 7 is large and set back, but if someone is in site 6 in front of it, I could see it being a challenge to get in and out of.

Great campground; about half the sites work for a trailer, but can be a bit tricky for parking for some; largely shaded sites; sites on the creek are awesome; quiet and small campground overall; nearest phone service is Sierra City; trash/ recycle and toilets present; good home base for mountain biking and hiking.

This is a small campground with no potable water and a single vault toilet available (there was a small creek running nearby when we went, though I am not sure if it runs all year). It is located a short drive from the gorgeous Sierra Buttes lookout point trailhead, as well as a number of small lakes. The short road through the campground and the parking spots at each site are unpaved; some of the sites are quite close to each other. There was no host or campground caretaker onsite, nor was there any firewood for sale, but I managed to collect enough downed wood nearby for two nights. This area is frequented by dirt bikes and off-road vehicles, both on paved roads and fire roads, which can be very noisy and aggressive, though our neighbors were polite and quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay here very much, but the other campgrounds in the area looked preferable to me.

Someone was squatting in our spot and we had to wait for an hour for them to pack their stuff up and move. They said someone had told them that they could take our spot. Lame.

An amazing campground. Ranks in our top 2 ever. The creek is lovely, campground small and just lovely. Lots to do super closeby.

Best campsite. Close to all the stuff. Clean and has a beautiful creek right next to it. I have camped here for years now and we love it.

the toilets were moved on site from previous location within the grounds. bring your own - and close the lid out of respect for others in the grounds.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
