Silver Creek-truckee Campground, Truckee, CA

Silver Creek-truckee Campground is located in the Truckee Ranger District, Tahoe National Forest (1 hr 12 min west of Carson City, NV) with an elevation of 6,047 feet. There are a total of 28 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to mid October. 14 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 30 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. There is a fee of $20.00 per night. Some amenities include swimming. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

The campground is a bit worn down, but everything works fine. We would have loved to go tubing on the river Truckee had we known about this before arriving. It looked like so much fun - even for the small kiddos.We spent the day at Commons Beach in Tahoe city. Such a magical little spot in the middle of the city.

Campground is right on a busy highway. The loop roads were narrow and had big boulders fronting the road. There was little room to park and we had difficulty getting our small camper in the designated spot. We ended up leaving a day early wouldnt stay there again.

The camp is more than beautiful, always clean, the bathrooms clean, and there are always people in charge watching, I love going there, we had a great 4th of July , the only bad thing was the mosquitoes but that's part of the great nature of the area

This was an outstanding campsite. There is no water here and we are close to the highway, but these are small factors considering how nice everything else was. The hosts are amazing people and great to talk to, everything was well organized and maintained. Firewood was available for purchase and the bathrooms never smelled. We were only 15min away from Lake Tahoe City, making camping very easy. Will be going again!

Very nice campground. A bit of road noise because its so close. Nice walk down to the river and so close to the bike path and river access.

Not too far from Truckee in case you've forgotten something. Very clean and neat campground. Camp host is friendly. Toilets even smell good unless another careless camper leaves the lid up. There is no water available at the site. Traffic noise off the 80 is a bit loud at times.

Dave and Kandi helped us successfully enjoy our campout with a big group of friends. They handled the arrivals and site allocations perfectly. Couldn't have asked for me. Great experience all the way.

No piped water. Pit toilets very clean. Very few guests midweek so campground quiet but very close to the highway so road noise.

Spacious and quiet campsite. overall quite basic facilities but clean. one can refresh in the river. it was my third time at this campground and will come back again.

Good place to stay, noisy road nearby. What is upsetting is the number of reserved sites that sat EMPTY all night. This reservation system is broken. You need to require reservations reconfirm when they get your reminder 2 days prior to coming. If they dont cancel them and make the site a FF! Fix this system!!!

Only minus one star for highway noise, otherwise excellent. I recommend this campground if you are in the Truckee area. The bathrooms, a toilet only, (no shower) were clean. The camp host was friendly. This is a tent or small camper friendly campground, so we did not hear any generators! The location is awesome, near Truckee and Tahoe City. My wife and I walked down to the river in the evening, nice! The highway noise is all night long, but not extreme. But you will notice it. I would stay here again. We were in site #5, which had a perfect amount of shade.

It is a very long walk from the parking area to this walk in site. The water at the campground was terrible even after filtering. I filled my water each day at the pickle ball courts at the entrance to Palisades/Olympic valley. Quite a bit of highway noise. Great campground host. The site is large and very clean. Very clean restrooms.
