Great campsite! Theyre a little close to each other so I enjoyed having the site farthest to the end. Youre right next to the river, there are some paths you can hike through, and youre also a very short drive away from the reservoir. Bathrooms are cleaned almost daily :)

This was an amazing place to camp, even though it was next to a road it was still quiet. Scenery was awesome and I would definitely come again!

Beautiful right next to the river.

Only 11 campsites crammed in a row with little space between, yet the quietest car camping I have experienced, day and night. Never heard music or even much of voices. Except for the sound of the stream and an occasional passing car, it was silent well before dark. Peaceful. Very clean. No cellphone reception.

The campsite was clean, the trash bin was empty. I didn't use the restroom so I can't speak to that. I did speak to one of the forest service workers and she was pleasant and informative.

Ranger says that the site fee includes one vehicle while the recreation.gov web page clearly states 2 vehicles. Charged me $20.. No contest. Big argument with neighbors on both sides of me.. Both insisting that the tent sites were theirs.. Leaving me with nothing. Very bad vibe. Tent areas should be clearly marked as to which tent areas goes with which site

A nice camp site if you want to fish the Little Truckee River.

Great location relative to Truckee and Tahoe. So nice to be parked right along the Little Truckee!

Absolutely no shade. Spots are pretty close to each other too. Bring a screen room or go when it's cool.

I've been to this campground many times. Mainly for fishing the Little Truckee. The campground itself is ok, but sone of the sites are very close to each other (especially the sites along the river, mainly catering to rv's), the spots at the back ( site 8- through 11) are better for tent camping and offer some shade. The fishing is great, so I'll definitely keep coming here at least once a year. There are OHV trails across the road, these trails are also nice for hiking. When hiking up these trails you get beautiful view of the Little Truckee valley and Stampede reservoir. I preferred this campground before they redid the sites. The vault toilets are super clean ( cleaned daily).

A small but clean & quiet camp ground with the river running beside to it. Camp hosts were very friendly.

When I booked this site #2 it looked really nice in the pics. Well when we got there it didn’t look like the pics at all!! The river was a little walk down the steep hill and there was absolutely no shade and we were right next to the camp host. Their motorhome was basically on top of our tent. We could hear them constantly at night. That really was a bothersome. There is no water- which we did know about that but it was an inconvenience to not have water. Overall it was ok. If we do decide to come back- we would stay in campsite # 10 or #12 Make sure u get all your information. The camp host was constantly gone during the day everyday. Bring plenty of water and a canopy. If your tent is bigger than 10ft x10ft it won’t fit in the tent pad. Boca Lake is just a 3 min drive from the campground.

Well maintained pit toilets and attentive camp host. Only negative I have is camper next to me played music that spoiled the outdoor camping experience in the mountains. That said, they did stop after a short time.

They vastly improved the campground during the COVID shut down. Ample bear lockers and defined camp sites. Staff, as always, are friendly and helpful. Location gives you easy access to fish the Little Truckee.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
