We had a great time at this campground. Bathroom was good and there was another bathroom further up the hill. Camp host was great too. He came by and we had a nice chat and he updated us about the Bear fire. He also let us know he would notify us if there were evacuations since we had no cell service. He let us know he had radio service to stay up to date.

This was shockingly nice given the proximity to a major road. We had a camper and traffic didnt bother us at all. When at the stream, it was wonderful and cool, and the kids had a blast. It was the perfect location for quick access and close to town. I would definitely recommend it.

We arrived on a Monday and stayed 4 nights. It was absolutely lovely. One camper was there, but left early the next day. We had the entire campground to our self. The river was low, but okay. We stayed in # 8 & 9. We have a 25 trailer and it fit well in #9. We will definitely return. Next time well put the trailer in #10 and reserve #9

The campsites are very close together. Neighbors as well. Cold at night in the middle of June, but the beauty is great. The sights were wonderful and you can hear the water at night. The traffic at night is very minimal.

A little close to the highway, but not bad. Also our neighbors ran their generator almost all the time which was somewhat annoying. It was the perfect temperature so why did he need AC?

Our fly rods were stolen out of camp, no campground host or other campers at that time. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR STUFF, nothing else was taken.

When we got there there were people camping on my spot

Cute campground; a little close to the road but not terrible. Stream was fun for the kids to ply in. Spot #9 is uncomfortably close to spot #10 but would be a great spot for a small group to use both. Spot #9 is wide enough for the trailer and a car next to it.

Love this place! Mid-week is the best.

This is a great place to stay if you do not mind traffic noise and need a place to escape some valley heat. Stream is still flowing at about 20 cfs in August after some drought conditions. Enough to get you feet wet and cool off.

Was there for holiday weekend can't expect quiet neighbors, but love the area and one of the best hosts I've ever been around. Thank you Vern for your hard work

The freeway traffic almost makes it impossible to sleep at night and the sites are super close to one another. Other than that, the river is close by, the bathrooms are clean, and camp host is very friendly. I would only come back here if we had a camper to drown out the loud freeway noise at night.

I spent one night at this campground with my dog. The campsites are VERY CLOSE together, so don’t expect any privacy. Thankfully, the neighbors on either side of our site were very nice. The campground is also right off of Hwy 89, so expect road noise throughout the day and night. Our site was nice and clean, and the nearby dumpsters were kept locked to prevent bears from breaking in. Overall a very pretty location with a short walk to the river.

No drinkable water. You must bring your own. Campsites are very close together and NOT near any creek or river. Nice camphost.

Nice little spot, close to home for us. Some spaces are very close to the neighboring space. It's ok if you are traveling with your neighbors, but a bit uncomfortable if they are strangers. Now we know which spaces to choose when we travel alone and with pairs to reserve when we travel with other. Fishing on the Truckee River and The Donner Party Interpretive Trail are nearby.

This was a really nice campsite especially for the price. Yes it is close to the highway but I didn't really notice the noise. Its close to the river, each revered spot has its own fire pit, and its pretty spaced out between neighbors. Now, somethings that I did notice is that their isn't much shade on certain spots so bring canopies or if you have your Rv's with awnings then you should be fine. The second thing is that there is tons of dirt. I had a mat in our trailer but it still stuck to my shoes. I recommend a patio mat or something extra to clean your feet with. Other then that it was perfect.

The campgrounds are beautiful and the river was so much fun to play in with the kids and dogs. Campsite #12 itself is a bit awkward and crossed between the others with limited space. Not recommended if you are looking for privacy with distance from neighboring campers.

In the midst of all of the pandemic craziness, this place offered a great time and place to get away from it all. The spot was spacious and open. We were immediately next to the river which provided some excellent nature sound and water fun for the kids and doggies. Our camp host was the nicest guy and made us feel so welcome.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
