The campgrounds were great. The campground host was helpful. And the bathrooms were close by and easy to access. We would stay here again.

It was very nice being there in the off season as we don't like the crowds. The bathrooms were kept very well and the camp host was so nice. They have a great walk trail paved along the lake.

I was surprised by how poorly this campground is maintained and the lack of flat ground for tents. Unlike other USFS campgrounds I've visited lately, (Cherry Lake Campground comes to mind) the pit toilets were filthy and stank badly. I had to search for a trash receptacle as there was not one nearby the restroom access from my campsite. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Pine Marten Campground in its present condition.

The campground is great and well maintained and the camp host was helpful and attentive. Site 16 is very small with barely enough room for two tents. We had to place our tent just a couple of feet away from the fire and where we were preparing meals. We were extra careful about spills so we could try to avoid having bears sniffing around so close to our tent!

Lovely campground. It was a bit crowded on a mid-September weekend, particularly the loop closest to the lake. Since water levels are so low in the Fall, it isnt worth trying to get a site near the water. We enjoyed the Inspiration Point trail (somewhat steep but short). There are other nearby trails that look good and we are looking forward to trying more of them in the future. The Lodge is more or less walking distance (depending on your inclination for walking) and the smoked brisket sandwich was awesome. Mobile coverage was pretty good on a Thursday but really fell off when the campground filled up. We will come again.

Best time. Great fishing. Busy on the weekend! Cold at night in a tent. Camp host was very friendly.

Beautiful location, nice campsite, and EXCELLENT campground host Sam and his dog Jazz -- give them both raises!But the pit toilets and lack of showers leave a lot to be desired.Other than that, a great camping experience.

Well maintained camp. Sites, especially parking is tight due to the fact that the campground was built when people tent camped. Pit toilets are very clean. Potable water is abundant. Camp sites are close to the lake. Numerous hiking trails right out of the campground.

Good location near the lake and trails. Decent campsites that are not overly close to each other. Great friendly camp hosts! Well maintained and clean pit toilets. Campsite was relatively clear the usual of bits campground litter that often gets left behind. Hefty and good sized bear boxes in good condition. Campsite (11) not the best for tent camping as the ground is rough and flat spots few but workable.

A very quiet campground at night.

Lake Alpine is beautiful, campsites are big, trails are well marked and the host was very friendly. Reservations were available just a few days before our trip.

It's sad to see the campground needing so much cleanup, the camping sites are not what they used to be. It would be nice to update the campground updated to fit our trailers. Rocks and trees don't allow us to get into sites that are long enough. Please consider angling the sites so guests can get into sites they see online and think they can fit, but when they arrive they can't. We have been going for 50 years. Please cleanup the sites.

Great camp site with fairly level parking for our 15 ft trailer.Downside is that it was RIGHT next to the bathrooms so when ever the wind blew our way we smelled outhouse. The flies were also pretty bad (and they bite)We went two years ago, same site and the bathrooms weren't a problem, so not sure why they smelled so bad this year.Next time we'll opt for a site further from bathroom.

A scenic location on a beautiful mountain lake. A quiet option as compared to West shore campground which families and nature lovers will appreciate.Forest service needs to do some work to remove downed trees, branches, and other obstacles/fire hazards from the camp and surrounding forest.

Campsites were nice and roomy and close to lake. Bathrooms were very clean for vault toilets.

Mosquitoes were insane but the campsite was amazing

We had so much fun at Pine Marten campground! The location could not be better. Being so close to the lake and having so many hiking options is wonderful. (We very much recommend Duck Lake and Inspiration Point). The campground is clean and has a family friendly atmosphere. There are no flushing toilets or sinks, but the pit toilets are kept clean. There is plenty of water spigots throughout the campground. The host made numerous passes around the campsites daily so we always felt taken care of.

Beautiful campsite and was right near the water. If your going with a large group of people camp 19 is a perfect spot.
@JohnO9176954 · Camped on Sep 11, 2023 at Campsite #31
Site 31 looks over a nice grassy area and a fallen log which the squirrels and chipmunks use as a speedway. Drive way pretty level side to side but not front to back. Easy walk to the lake but last years record winter broke the footbridge over the stream in half. Recent work by Forest Service to remove dead trees so there are a few slash piles but it is still a beautiful campground.

Always enjoy lake alpine. Explored new trails, beautiful scenery, quiet campground. Lots of storm damage, but nothing that would keep me away. Bathrooms clean for pit toilets. Benefit of storm damage, LOTS of wood available to have campfires.

Great site with tons of room to play!!! We fit our 22 ft camper and large suv in this site. Enough room to extend a slide on non-camp side and awning on camp side. Mostly shaded with peaks of sunshine near the fire pit and table throughout the day. Backs up to a creek about 100ft behind the site. Only downsides we had were caused by the brutal winter we had early 2023. Picnic table was sunken into ground making it very low. We made it work though. Lots of down trees and limbs around the site. Parking spur and firepit/table area were fairly clear though. We were warned of the mess and the cleanup efforts taking place in an e-mail about a month prior to our trip. Also its a bit of a trek to the water if you have kayaks. Definitely doable with a kayak dolly though. Paved trail all the way to the water except the last 20 ft.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
