Unfortunately we were not able to use this campsite as it was only accessible with a all-wheel-drive vehicle permitted for use in the sand. I drive an all-wheel-drive car, but was not able to get to the site and had to leave. It would great to have this more clear when booking!

Numbered site was on a hill , unable to park my toy hauler . Tried to park close to the area but was in the way of other riders so only stayed one day until I could relocate to another camp site. I would not camp there again.

We like this spot a lot simply because we don’t have to drag everything to far on the sand. The only problem we’ve been having is people now just speeding in by the camp. One particular group kept coming closer and closer almost hitting one of our kids. As far as my understanding you aren’t supposed to speed through sand camps or any camps. Other than that we love this spot.

If you have the proper vehicle and the means, sand camping can be okay. However, be aware that the sand campsites have almost nothing available and are far from the restroom areas or showers. You are almost infinitely better off just getting a campsite in the actual campground area than staying on the sand itself unless you are adamant to do sand camping. We ended up just getting one of the actual campsites for the night anyway because we did not realize just how little the site actually comprised of, and generally I would recommend the same for most people. It is literally just a patch of sand with a few sparse trees, right next to the dunes and day use area where people will be driving 4x4's at all hours of the day and into the night. Not necessarily bad if that's what you want, but be aware that this is what you're getting.

I enjoy camping on the sand. As long as you have the right vehicle and know how to drive it, the dunes make for a nice camp site. If you are not sure about it, stay on pavement in one of the campgrounds.

Campsite was nice. Only issue was people riding through it even when they see it was occupied.

Camp was beautiful. Host was over worked and clearly frustrated. Showers token should be kept At the camps. That way if machine runs out host can provide! That was the worst part! No showers!! Boooooo

The forest service workers were rude. Then the camp host was even ruder as she had the adasitay to remove our tarp which was covering items in the bed of our truck saying " your making me look bad" . I will never return their in that section .. horse fall camp and horse fall beach.. both just horrible.

This specific spot was not a good site for a toy hauler! We weren't able to safely set up within the required 150 feet of the post and ended up having to find a camp site somewhere else.

Sand camping at its best. Loved our weekend

Loved our campsite! The previous campers from 4th of July were litterbugs so we went around and picked up their trash, but other than that it was amazing. We saw lots of animal tracks in the mornings and saw a Humboldt Martin going across one of the roads. What a beautiful fun trip!!

Easy in and out of site 114 but nestled in the trees. One of our favorites

Sites are decent but the campsite are not marked very well nor does the map really help. They are on the middle of the trails and that was not listed in the description.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
