Gorgeous spot, very clean. Camp host is a miserable human, but we didnt let him ruin the experience for us :)

The lake is beautiful, and I appreciated how quiet this campground was (outside of the traffic on the highway, which honestly just kind of felt like white noise). But for what it's worth, I picked up close to 30 piles of dog poop when I got to our site, which was right by the boat launch. Once cleaned up, we were able to enjoy the site, but I wish folks visiting with dogs could be more responsible and show respect for other campers!

Peaceful and well maintained campsites. Lovely trail around the lake and to Mt Hebo

Beautiful sites. We were so impressed with the volunteer park hosts. They were extremely conscientious and the sites were immaculate. Great location so we visited Tillamook cheese factory, beach at Oceanside and the Cedar Creek Fish Hatchery

Cute little campground. We enjoyed our stay there. The lake is small but looks nice, and there are several benches and fishing decks spread around it.

Nice campground w/ awesome water access. Almost all walk in sites, semi private, kinda odd layout.

Camping in this place was incredible! Beautiful nature around, fishing, and many frog songs at night
@RenS41020B70C9 · Camped on Jul 17, 2024 at Campsite #1
The vault toilets were extremely clean. Site 1 was very well cared for. The frogs at night are quite loud, and you'll need to bring bug spray. Get firewood at the general store in town before heading up the mountain. There's no water or firewood on hand. Check in with the camp host, even if you reserved online. They're very sweet. Going up the mountain further and seeing the coast and Tillamook from the top is a must.

Small family campground with good fishing and water activities. Exceptionally maintained by the campground host!
@DavidM1864120 · Camped on Jul 9, 2024 at Campsite #3
This campground is up in the woods along a very good road, but is only for small vehicles vans no trailers. The campground is hosted by two wonderful people, the bathrooms were extremely clean and smelled good. The campsites were large and had lots of foliage between each site, really enjoyed our time here . The pond is beautiful and theres great trails to walk around. There is no water so bring your own for everything.

Amazing friendly and attentive camp hosts!

Loved it! Short walk to the restroom and lake. Shaded and plenty of space for our chihuahua. Other camping spots are close (5 and 6), but still private. Some mosquitoes but is not bad. A ~5-10 minute ride takes you to Mt. Hebo viewpoint. Some reception with ATT. Regular trash and recycling in the parking lot are available.

The vault toilet was IN the campsite
@KatieS8940479 · Camped on Jun 28, 2024 at Campsite #9
Stayed in #9 A lot of tree cover, which was nice because we had a little rain. The spot for your tent is right next to a little creek, which is so awesome and calming. We had 3 tents, so we had to have one up on the parking/picnic area. Be warned, its really rocky and a little uneven. The campground is taken care of really well and the vault toilets arent horrible. Would like to come back!

Quite and spacious , Lake is good for kayaking. Bring your own firewood and water. No running water. It's a perfect Quite get away as the camp site is not crowded. Camphost is approachable and nice

Nice lake with beautiful reflections. Moody with rain first night was gorgeous. Can be a bit noisy from day use. Lots of dead trout and fishing line in trees. Decent stay over spot but I likely wouldnt stay here again. Site 1 was a solid nook but the fire pit was too tall. Site 2 was great by the lake but very exposed to day use / people driving through.

Had a great time at Hebo Lake, I stayed 10 days by myself & meet a lot of great people. The camp host's keep the place nice and clean and are very friendly. Great fishing for everyone with all the docks around the lake. Just don't tell everyone?? It's a place I like go and relax catch some fish for dinner and enjoy a nice campfire.

Wonderful campsite. Very private and spacious. Site details should include the fact that its a walk up site though. Probably about 150 ft from parking area

Cleanest campsites I've seen. The camp's hosts were wonderful and friendly. Great spot for kids.

This was by far one of the best kept Forest Service campgrounds we have stayed at. The bathrooms were immaculate -- they even smelled good. The hosts were a friendly couple who helped us with directions to various places. The campground was small and very quiet. A really nice place to stay.
@JesamynMF3A428 · Camped on Jul 7, 2023 at Campsite #3
The people next to us had very loud screaming crying kids, but other than that the campground was nice.
@TaraRE9242CBF2 · Camped on Jun 28, 2023 at Campsite #3
We loved this location. The campsites are clean and well maintained and the site is quiet. The bathrooms are the usual pit toilets with no sink to wash hands but the hosts thoughtfully provided some hand sanitizer which was nice. There is only one hiking trail out but it's long and very beautiful. Not a lot of sites but they are relatively private and everyone was quiet.

This was our first time camping here and it was also on Memorial Weekend. The site was clean on arrival with a picnic table & fire ring. On one side of the table, the sitting bench was taped off for repairs, which didn't bother us at all because we used it for other stuff. This site is right across of the restrooms (which were always clean and didn't smell). Keep in mind, this is not so much of a private site. The picnic shelter is nearby but thankfully it was not in use while we were there. We would definitely return, as the hosts there were very nice and did a good job in maintaining the place.

We are fairly experienced campers so we are familiar with the in's and out's of camping reservations and associated manners. I hate to be the one that doesn't give this place 5 stars -- maybe I went on an "off" weekend. At any rate, the dog situation here was out of control. Nearly every site had an off leash dog making it impossible to walk the half mile loop around the lake; I mean, some folx didn't even have leashes at all. Heck, even the host had an off leash dog. Our dog is now dog reactive if approached by a dog after being attacked 4x by off leash dogs. We have his behavior under control but off leash dogs are not something we can control. We are very intentional in choosing our campsites to only choose facilities were leashes are required. We expect some sort of commotion, after all, we aren't booking a private campground. But the small dogs that barked non stop and the talking at all hours of the day made for an impossible-to-relax weekend. Despite my wife's love of fishing, she wouldn't even fish due to the noise and commotion. Unfortunately, we won't be back to this location.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
