One of the best camp spots towards the coast range. Lot's of space for all sorts of activities and being so close to the river was a added bonus.

A beautiful group site by a swimming hole - a perfect spot for camping with kids. The swimming hole here (as of 2024) has a sloping rocky beach with plenty of shallows leading into a *slow moving* deeper pool. Tons of baby fish and another deep pool just upstream made for good floating and amateur fish catching. Kids ages 2-12 were able to have a water experience that was safe and/or challenging for them. Our group had about 40 folks, and I would say that is the max that can comfortably camp here. While there is plenty of parking space in the upper lot, there isn't actually that much flat, not-gravel ground to set up tents in the no-vehicle zone farther down. Single bathroom was as clean as you can expect of a pit toilet, with plenty of paper, and the dumpster was recently emptied. BIG concrete fire ring worked well for a large group. Given the wildfires and smoke in the Cascades, this coast range spot was a real win for clean air, lovely water and the ability to have a campfire for s'mores. There's also a store/restaurant up the street (The Outpost) where you can resupply with wood and ice!

Reserve for privacy and your own group/family, but you always have randos stop and walk around the gate, and right into campsites. Maybe like stores now, you could install coded lock on restroom? Signs don't seem to matter.

We have 3 families with 8 kids total and this spot has it all! Enough room for the kids to safely roam, river access, picnic tables, bathroom, and huge fire pit! Rocky Bend is an excellent group spot for family and friends to gather in the beautiful forest. We love it here.

Great campground! Love this place. Even when it is raining!

Great location and site. The site would be better if they removed the boulders to allow RV parking in the lower loop near the fire ring, further from the main road. Also, leaving the gate locked is very necessary. People don't seem to understand the site is for use by reservation only, and those that paid for it expect privacy.

Multiple times a day we had confrontations with people trying to come into the campground, including motorcycles that drove around the barrier. There is no cell service so it’s very scary to have this happen and not be able to call for help if needed.

This is a nice campground with lots of space and facilities. Before you reserve I think it is important to be aware that people will be coming and going in the campground even though the gate is locked and closed and it says access is by reservation only. When I arrived for my reservation there were people parked at the gate fishing in the campground. But, they were nice, helped me set up a canopy, and offered me a fish they had caught and then left. About an hour later a group of teenagers came and parked outside the gate, walked past the gate and proceeded to sit at a bench at the upper camping area and drink and party. They were loud and yelling, but to their credit, didn’t harass me at all and were gone within an hour. The next day we had another car stop, read the signs that say “Reservation Only” and then proceed to enter the campground ask us if the campground was open. If we hadn’t been there to receive them, we most likely would have had move visitors. From what I can tell this used to be a free, open campsite and has since changed. This seems to be a point of contention for locals. I would ask people to take that up with their local Forrest service office, rather than on the people who reserve the space. I can understand why people might be mad or frustrated, but we certainly weren’t aware of this when we made our reservation... This is a beautiful spot and we really enjoyed the location, but would not stay here again due to the activity around the place and uncertainty surrounding the visitors. I believe the forest service office owes the locals some outreach and alternatives, since they did take and lock up a beautiful space.

Lots of rodent activity in the bathroom and a group of aggro locals was not so great.

Pretty amazing section of the Nestucca. This private group camp with a lockable gate meant we had the whole place to ourselves. Comfortably you could fit maybe 2-3 large RV’s plus maybe 8 cars/trucks. Or maybe 16 vehicles with all tents.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
