The campground is clean, well-run, and conveniently located near the dunes. The campsites themselves are very spare, small, and have no privacy or barrier between neighboring sites.

I had a lovely spot for my Toyota Sunrader overlooking the lake and docks. A storm rolled through....There is a great place to put in your kayak for a paddle around this beautiful area.I would totally go back to this little jewel.Kelly

We love this campground. And the camp host was amazing. When the regulator for our stove wasn't working, he lent us his for the weekend.

We have been camping at the lake for over 30 years and are very disappointed at the condition of the camp sites and the ramp. sites are poorly maintained and ther amp is falling apart to the point of being unusable .

Nice quiet time. Forest Service could do a favor to everyone and TRY to get after IVY and Blackberries, especially down near boat ramp. Great that IVY has been cut around large spruce and fir trees. Thanks for that!!! Spaces 18 and 16 are 'designed' for a 'group in mind and worked great. Some branches could be trimmed to improve the view. The fire rings were nicer to warm up (esp. when sitting) when the sides were not 3' but 1 1/2' in height. Did not have any interaction with Host, which was fine.

This is one of the better primitive camp grounds in the Suislaw National Forest.

Tahkenitch Landing is a relaxed, low-key small campground next to Tahkenitch Lake. The camp hosts were both very friendly and also very low-key. The sites were well-placed and gave some good privacy. The only downside is that the campground is very close to the busy Highway 101. I assume the terrain made it impossible to locate the campground a couple hundred yards further back.

This campsite has a beautiful view of the lake, and that is basically the only good thing about it. The ground is so rutted from RVs that it is difficult to find a level spot for a tent -- and if you have a large tent you'll probably be out of luck. There is absolutely no shade or privacy screening -- only a flimsy rail fence separates the site from the adjacent site. The site was scattered with little pieces of trash and bordered by thick tangles of blackberry (which at least were ripe when I was there). The highway noise was audible but not as loud as on the shoulder I suppose. The campground has a vault toilet but no running water, yet it costs the same as a nearby campground with potable water and flush toilets. Save your money and find a back road to camp on,

Campsite number 8 was amazing! Super private, spacious and with a beautiful view of the lake. You do need to go on a walk to get to the bathrooms, which for us was totally fine. The bathrooms were very well kept and clean.

This is one of our favorite places. The lake is beautiful and the bathroom is always well maintained

We chose this spot because we love being on a lake but werent amazed by the access from the campground and ended up going to Woahink Lake instead. Beautiful view and nice privacy campsite 8 but probably more ideal for water activities other than swimming, playing with dogs, and sitting lakeside

Great lake & campsite. Campground suffering from no current on site representative. No toilet paper in womans 3 days running. No one canvassing to make sure random folks dont just stay at open sites (which they do). A sizable hole in one site that could lead to injury if not filled. I had the time so picked up candy wrappers a d dog poop while I was there, because I love the place.Please get an on site supervisor! This is a most splendid campground, excellent swim & boat site that will suffer if left unattended.
@KarenK3878935 · Camped on Jun 26, 2023 at Campsite #8
The campsite is in a beautiful location. I only gave three stars because there is no campground host, and it felt a bit insecure.
@GraceN69FB42B4 · Camped on Jun 25, 2023 at Campsite #8
It’s a pretty good campsite, it had a grill for the fire pit which is nice. The bathrooms were pretty far from our site at 8. In ground. Overall good experience, I do think considering the amenities available, it should be a cheaper per night stay. Wasn’t as close to the beach as I had thought but still really cool next to the lake.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
