Dorabelle Campground, Shaver Lake, CA

Dorabelle Campground is located in the High Sierra Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest (57 min northeast of Clovis, CA) with an elevation of 5,416 feet. There are a total of 64 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid October. 42 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 19 and 43 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $40.00 to $82.00.

A very quiet campground within walking distance to Shaver. The camp and restrooms are kept very clean.

The campground was very clean, it had plenty of shade, and the camp hosts, Bo & Janelle were absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We would definitely recommend this campground over Camp Edison ANYDAY!!!

We come to Shaver Lake EVERY August and Jamie and Frank are always fantastic. Frank works so hard at keeping the "restrooms" clean and the sites raked and ready to go. The one issue we have is that the trees need to be trimmed. They are encroaching into the road and doing damage to our Motorhome when we drive to our spot. Also the water line going up the road by site #59 is still broken from last summer and the asphalt is damaged from the water leak. The infrastructure needs so love which has nothing to do with the camp hosts. The roads and the water spigots need to get fixed.

We liked how campsite #14 was right across from the bathrooms. The campsite was very clean. I would recommend a canopy for this campsite if you plan on going in the summer. My family had a great time!

Clean and easy to navigate campground. Attendants and hosts were incredibly helpful and kind. Lake access is easy to walk to, and pathways are clear. Bathrooms are clean. Wonderful sites and great campground.

Beautiful campground, well-maintained, lovely surroundings with some big pines and cedar trees throughout, right down to the water at the lake. Swimming is fantastic, fishing looks plausible but we caught nothing. We really liked the campground host, they always accommodated us any way they could. Make sure you understand that the campground fee is only covering the parking for one vehicle; any other extras must pay a daily fee. We got the phone call "bring your own water" after we had already driven in our RV to Shaver Lake, so we had to scrounge it from a condo in town. Worse, there's no place to dump the holding tanks except at Camp Edison, and they are not friendly about it. Plan ahead. For such a heavily used campground, it is extraordinary how beautiful and preserved the grounds are. One bad: noisy neighbors throughout, this is a party campground being next to a lake with swimming and boating. We didn't get to sleep until around 1 a.m. Mid-week is probably better.

Great campground. Bathrooms kept clean. Campsites are pretty small, but sites on the outskirts of the campground are in the trees and are beautiful. Definitely recommend those!

Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Quiet throughout the night and weather was great. Lots of good fishing and water was just perfect for swimming.

Beautiful site. Nice trail very nearby. We also got a site that was towards the edge that left us with no neighbors in earshot. We could just barely hear the other sites closing their bear boxes.
