Great campsite! The river surrounding the site is gorgeous and a great place to hang, swim and relax. Fun area to hop around on the rocks. Beautiful trees surrounding the whole site. We didnt really leave the campsite at all. The bathroom was very clean. The only downside is there are no bear boxes provided which is not clearly stated on this website. Rec.gov needs to fix that. Bring a bear canister. Also need to bring your own water.

The map on the reservation website does not match the actual campsite location. Therefore we ended up at the wrong sweet water. Lucky they had spots for us there to pay cash. Basically the website needs to be fixed. This is not the sweet water near buck meadows on the northwest side of Yosemite.

Very rustic, bring your own water. Vault toilets were cleaned daily, the camp host was very nice. Pretty place. No cell service, you can drive to the local general store for a signal and a fresh bag of ice.

We loved it. The only thing missing was running water to wash our hands after using bathroom. Other than that we had an amazing time.

The campsite was clean and the host was so friendly and helpful. He kept the restrooms cleaned and well stocked too. The river was beautiful but a bit hard to get in because the rocks are very slippery. We swam at Mammoth a few minutes away which was breathtaking. When we arrived we were a bit confused looking for our site but learned you can pick which site you want and when the host comes around he checks you in. Great experience.

Sweetwater Creek is an amazing campsite! More than what we expected. The creek was perfect for cold plunging in the morning, hiking along and swimming around the many mini pools. Mammonth Pool Reserve is a beautiful lake super close by to post up at on the beachside and swimming. There is Wagner's store really close by for any last minute needs, firewood, drinks, snacks, ice and gasoline pump. I highly recommend this site and will definitely be coming back to camp here!

It was a poor experience no one was there to check us in. It was like a first come first serve we were luck no one else came because there was one site left but my name wasn’t on it so basically one one could took it and I would been out of luck

Great campground. Was not crowded when we went in late August. Great swimming hole. There are fish in the creek although we did not have any luck. We will definitely be going back.

I actually booked the wrong Sweetwater campground, not realizing their are two on opposite sides of Yosemite in different National Forests. That mistake was on me. So, I didn't end up staying at this Sweetwater and instead ended up at a different U.S. Forest Service campground. Nonetheless, I'm giving this an excellent rating because my experience with all of the Forest Service, NPS, and BLM maintained campgrounds has always been fantastic. The recreation.gov website makes planning and reserving space easy, which in turn makes the whole adventure travel experience easy. I do wist the lottery systems for other things on recreation.gov were a bit easier, but that's a different conversation. All in all, another great experience. And since this, I've had another at Furnace Creek in Death Valley! More are in the works for other parks and public spaces in the coming months.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
