Beautiful location, with this campsite nicely shaded among big trees. A perfect place for relaxing under the big trees or playing in the lake.

I was the only one in the CG for 3 days.

This spot was great! The sites have room for at least one tent, some more room for two. Be aware, some sites are on a bit of a hill so don't be surprised if you wake up a little closer to your friend if you're not positioned against the hill. Lots of trees for shade. Bug wise: wasp-like bugs will be trying to eat your breakfast in the morning and moths will be diving into your lanterns and fires at night. Got out with 3 mosquito bites so thank you to my bug spray. The bathrooms were kept up with toilet paper but be aware, there are a couple spiders that do not care for your privacy and will stay in the corner while you're in there. Bring your own handsoap! There are water spouts next to every bathroom and at least one nearby sites that are further from the bathrooms. The lake is right next to the site but be aware, it's easy to go down but ever so slightly steep to come back up. The water itself is pretty murky, especially since the bank is not sand but rather clay. Really fun to play with still! In terms of nearby amentities, there two gas stations/stores in Trinity Center, one being on the KOA camground, which are about a 15 minute drive from the campground. The Guy Covington Rd that you turn on to get to the campground is really scenic with a historical landmark of a barn and horses that will sometimes make an appearance! Keep in mind, this road does end up being a little narrow so make sure to be aware of your speed around corners to avoid running into any oncoming cars without warning. I could probably keep on going but to sum it up, I'll for sure reference this campground for any future camping trips. It was a great visit!

The campground was great. Facilities were maintained daily. The biggest issue I had was with the neighbors who had 1 kid who screamed at least 4-5 hrs per day and then ran a generator for 7 hours (well into the evening). Unfortunately you can't control people who are inconsiderate of others but technically not breaking the rules.

There was no one around when I went to this campground. No refund was an option. I did not know if there was an evacuation or not. There was no host. I felt concerned something was wrong. When I reserved a spot it showed all of the other sites were full. I am concerned that this camp site is a scam.

For my fellow/future campers: check temperatures and lake levels (https://www.trrp.net/restoration/flows/lake-conditions/) before you reserve a site this campground. The severe drought has impacted the lake - the lake bed was a desertscape in July 2022. The heat and lack of water meant that we were the ONLY people in the campground....there was only one other site with a reservation tag and they didn't turn up. There wasn't even a dawn chorus, just one raven to keep us company. Then there was the pickup truck driving across the lakebed with highbeams on in the middle of the night. It served our purpose as a campsite for the night before a backpacking trip, but be warned that you may be tempted to start filming your own low budget horror/film noir right there and then. :-)

Small campsite that backs up to the forest and dried up Reservoir. Most of the ground is uneven and we found it hard to fit 2 tents in the designated spot. Much larger sites surrounded it.

Nice camping ground with tall trees. Facilities are OK, no electricity here, Bathrooms need attention. There is a lake next to the ground, we can go for a hike which is about 3 miles

Lake was beyond low, muddy and incredibly dry. The campground is nice but the furthest from most places. It would take a lot of solid winters for the reservoir to recover.

The toilets were maintained poorly and had no lights. The campgrounds themselves were nicely maintained and had good experience

The campground is quite lovely, big trees, huge sites with lots of space between, clean bathrooms etc. The bad new is that in 2021 there was almost no water in the lake so it all felt quite sad.

Beware campground is dirty and for the first night there was only one working toilet for the whole campground. After the first night, that one stopped working. Eventually a pot-a-potty was brought in but was not maintained, so it quickly got disgusting and smelled up the whole campground. It took 3 days for them to fix the toilets. Same deal with nearby campgrounds managed by Shasta Recreation Company- restrooms were all gross. If I could leave negative stars I would. So disappointed given other good reviews and so easy to fix. Great location.

Loved the camping ground. Short walk to the lake behind. We happened to catch a good spot though, most sites were smaller.

Clean and well maintained. Love the quiet lake arm. A little bumpy drive to the campground way off the highway of 299. The trees keep it cool, lots of shade with a small distance to water. Love it just wish there was power.

The campground was in a beautiful setting (close to the lake), but it seemed dirty and disorganized. I couldn't find the camp host -- either there wasn't actually a camp host (although signs indicated there was), or they were just impossible to identify. During one night of our stay, a campsite started blasting music around midnight. I would've appreciated if a host had said something. Also, the dumpsters were overflowing with trash. And, lastly, the bathrooms had warning signs about bears and the importance of keeping food/toiletries in bear boxes and or out of their reach, but only a few sites had bear boxes. My worries about bears approaching my camp site were assuaged when I realized their first stop (and only stop) would be the dumpsters. All in all, it's not a terrible campground, but I've stayed at better....:-D

This is a lovely campground with large sites, many with tree-filtered lake views. Bathrooms were clean and the campground seemed well cared for. Weekend we visited had far more tent campers than RVs, which we appreciated (no generators running). There was no camp host, but all of the campers were quiet and considerate.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
