The camp was nice except for fact the trash dumpsters were overflowing and spilling onto the ground and camp host didn't clean up and the stench was horrible, the wind blew the smell right into our campsite. Also, charging $5 for campers to take a shower is a rip off. Other than that the camp ground was nice and quiet. The lake is beautiful.

The campground was beautiful and very quiet. The site was well provisioned, with nice firepits, tables and space for small camper + car. Two negatives: 1) the showers, which cost $5, were cold with almost no water pressure. 2) in the site next to ours, a party with at least 12 people and 4 cars showed up, with 6-8 tents/hammocks spread out all over. They weren't too noisy, but their spread and so many people made it harder to enjoy our site, and they walked through our campsite to the bathroom regularly (instead of using the road). There's a reason for site limits and for group sites!

After 3 yrs. campground has a Camp Host again. Camp Host thinks a leaf blower is needed to clean the sites and road, maybe a broom would be better. Also Camp Host thinks the shower is their personal space. Not the quiet campground it used to be.

The campground is quite and sites are well spread out. The site is spacious (designed for RV drive through) and nicely shield by trees. No hot water for the shower at the time but a cold shower in a hot day was nice. Weaverville is 30 min away for supplies, firewood, Trinity County Brewing Co and Joss House State Historic Park. Of course ton of hiking in the nearby Trinity Alps and fishing in the lakes.

This is the perfect campsite for a group. Its easy to get to the restroom, theres plenty of space to really spread out, and ample space in the bear lockers. We actually took two side-by-side spaces for our large group. I will say it was more fun to drive to a Local swimming hole, and also drive down to the river resort. This is not a place you want to just hang out at in terms of water activities. The lake is super low and you cant really do anything there unless you drive onto the hot dirt. That said the special swimming hole / resort areas were a 5-10 min drive away so no big deal. Theres no one else around you, so its super quiet at night.

The group camp site was awesome. Power and water for two of the 4 sites. The group dining area was amazing. The campfire pit was also super well designed and placed. The campground stated it had hot showers available. This was not the case and I was not informed prior. Kind of a buzz kill.

When we arrived the campground appeared to be closed, there was no camp host, which we counted on to buy firewood ("buy it where you burn it," I've been told). There was no hot water in the showers. The site (#6) was on a hillside that had such a slope that only one medium sized tent could be set up. The fire pit was on a concrete slab in the corner and positioned in such a way that only 1 or 2 camp chairs could be placed around it because of the campsite slope, other chairs were awkwardly placed. Just a poorly designed campsite in general. It should have also been clear in the campground/site description that there was no cell signal. (And not exactly related to the campground but still relevant in my mind, Trinity Lake was appalling low, like at least 50 feet so there was zero ability to really enjoy lakeside recreation.) I am certain I would not come back to this area.

Main trash dumpster was full to the brim with trash. We were at campsite #8 for four days. It was never emptied. The hot water for the public showers was not working. Campground 8 does not have a bear box. Trash around campsite should be removed, debris should at least be blown off thr paved area, fire pits cleaned and the camp site should be clean and usable for arriving campers.

Camp Sites are pretty spread out. Restrooms are clean with flushable toilets and running water. You will also have access to hot showers for a small $5 fee (carry exact change). All campsites have a fire pit and a good sized bear proof locker. There is a general store on the water in the Marina (5mins away). Drive up to boat docking station and ask for directions. Highly Recommend this campsite.

Clean and well maintained site with shower, among the best we've been visited. Quite and peaceful throughout our stay. Tom is an accommodating host and always there to help. He rescued and saved our cat when she jumped and stuck 50 feet above on a pine tree. We can not thank enough of him.

Beautifully treed, paved, pull-through site, but...wasps had nested in the water ring and many ground nests nearby. No camp hosts as site has shifted to a "concierge service," overflowing trash cans (hello bears, nothing to see here), dirty bathrooms, and large group site next door made for less than desirable get-into-nature conditions.

We had booked site 1. The electricity hookup wasn't working. The showers were closed. No host in the campground. No one to address any issues.

Great site, saw deer and woodpeckers around. The campfire/bbq pit functioned to our needs. Water spigot at the site was a great benefit. Bring a flash light for the bathrooms.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
