Overall it was fun. The camp host was phenomenal and kept the bathrooms extremely clean.

Wonderfully remote and not too difficult to access for a newbie like me. Very limited amenities and a good distance to services. Camp host Linda keeps the mountain in great condition! Her passion shows!

Linda, the campground host was fabulous. In addition to helping us determine which site was ours she did a great job keeping the restrooms clean. Great attitude!

Our camp host Linda was extremely helpful in locating the perfect site for our group.Linda also helped us throughout our stay, kept the facilities (restrooms) spotless, inquired how she might make our stay more enjoyable, and provided our group with lots of local information and helpful advice.Linda is an incredible asset to the Forest service campground.

Check in was suppose to be at noon on Sunday check out at 11, arrived at campground at 12:20 and every spot was full. Had to kick out who we find at camp. Two of the spots the people were not around, the one showed up at 3:00, had to ask them to leave, they were in no hurry and didn't leave til 4, the last site left from the weekend group didn't show up until after 4PM. They were very rude when we told them they couldn't be in the reserved area (they didn't pay either). By the time we could set up camp it was 5 PM. Check in was as noon. Very disappointed that this isn't monitored more. Waste of money making the reservation since we couldn't even have the campground we reserved.

Had an amazing experience. Encountered a mama and baby moose drinking from a puddle, while trail riding. It was awesome. We watched for a bit until baby laid in the puddle, so we respectfully turned around. We had 2 more come through the site next to us on the same night. And on the following day decided to ride the same trail. Mama and baby were in the same spot again. This time they disappeared into the woods. It was so exciting. Will definitely return next year.

Enjoyed the group campsites. They were clean and we had a great time. We saw lots of moose while we were there. Really exciting to see all the wildlife.

Very easy reservation process, with reminder emails up until the first day. Just wish other campers knew what the word”reserved” meant, lots of privacy disruptions. But very beautiful and well maintained campsites

Wonderful stay with friends. Was told that potable water would be available but it lasted 10 minutes and was gone.

No water or garage service. Bathroom buildings were trashed- ran out of TP. Lots of ATV’s which can be fun or annoying depending. Spaces were larger and decent amount of tree separation. Be aware you’ll drive a couple miles on gravel to get here.

The location was perfect for us. We brought our Polaris and an Atv, to ride the many beautiful trails. We were moose hunting and were not disappointed. We found one napping in a snow bank and another large bull moose in a high meadow. Vaulted toilets were open but had not been cleaned in some time. There was no available water in the entire campgrounds and a pile of tree trimmings were piled within our reserved site.

Great place to relax and enjoy a hike and the area. Was farther up than we expected but that was ok. On Sunday night we felt we were only ones there since most left Sunday morning.

Porcupine Springs was very busy when we were there (3 nights in July). Nearly all the campsites were full, and there was lots of activity including evening parties, woodworking with power tools (run by a generator), loud festivities from the nearby group site, and frequent ATV traffic. This site seems to be a destination spot for ATVers, so if that's not your thing, you might want to steer clear. Other things to know: It's fairly easy to get to via a tame dirt road - you don't need four wheel drive. You do, however, need a decent sense of where you're going as the forest service roads don't seem to be well-labeled. The campground is in a pretty spot and there are some nice walks if you're prepared to bushwhack (the only trails we found were those for ATV use). Campsites are pretty close to the road and to each other, though each seems to have a little bit of forest behind it that is pretty, and nice if you need a bit of privacy. There is no room for tents back there, though. There is no camp host or supervision, so you're on your own in dealing with any issues that might come up. There's no cell service as far as I know, regardless of provider. There's also no trash - it's strictly "pack in, pack out." There are pit toilets and potable water spigots at regular intervals throughout the campground. All in all, I would have found greater peace and quiet welcome, but Porcupine Springs did serve the purpose for which we were there (to visit with family in the outdoors), and it offered some pleasant scenery in the process.

Bagged trash left by community fire pit. Campers did not see reserved sign and we had to confront them to leave and explain we had reserved the spot

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
