Pine Point Campground, Bayfield, CO

Pine Point Campground is located in the Columbine Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest (1 hr 41 min northeast of Farmington, NM) with an elevation of 7,715 feet. There are a total of 15 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to mid September. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 45 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $24.00 to $28.00.

This campground has the best views of the lake and mountains. The hosts are the best ever! They are driving around all day and stop to visit with everyone. I can't wait till my next visit!

The campground had a bad odor that came and went. I don't know if it was the nearly full toilet vaults or the full trash dumpsters. There was a large group occupying two campsites that were noisy day and night. They also had a generator set up in the middle of the campsite which they ran off and on throughout the day and until quiet hour at night. The campers next to us had a fire that was more smoke than fire in the middle of an 80 degree day. The smoke drifted through our camp. We finally bailed out early. It is quieter and more peaceful at home than at this campground.

Clean and quiet campground. The hosts are always making rounds and checking up on everyone. Access to the lake is easy, the views are breathtaking. There is a little general store at a nearby camping resort.

This is a well managed campground. The Campground hosts, Terry and his wife keep all the sites spotless. They are very helpful We love staying at this campground!

The camp host was a great guy! He helped us find a better place to pull in our camper because the site that we had reserved was not like the description given. The site (012) was nothing like we had expexted. But Terri understood and helped us find a better one. Thanks Terri! I give Terri 5 stars!

The camp hosts keep an immaculate campground. There is plenty of shade and each campsite is situated such that they all seem to have good views of the lake.

Made our reservation 6 months in advance with two other families. Three campsites next to each other. Realized two weeks prior to going that we were going to miss our first night. Went online and cancelled our first night to open for someone else. Got to the campground to find our reservation had been cancelled. No refund. The camp host gave us another site. So I will never try to adjust the reservation once it has been made again. The system can not be trusted to keep it all straight. Frustrating.

Camp hosts were amazing. Camp sites were spic and span as were the bathrooms. Campsites by the lake are wonderful. All of the sites are roomy and youre not right next to your neighbor. There are a couple of sites where it would be extremely hard to level a camper. #27 is one of those.

Another great trip…the lake was more than full, the weather beautiful and the campsite clean and well run. This is a favorite spot for us and we return as often as we can. It was the Fourth of July and busy but campers were respectful.

We have been coming to this campground for several years now with our daughter and grandchildren. They love being close to the water and going out in the canoe fishing in the morning. Our hosts were awesome, they did a great job keeping the grounds nice and the bathrooms clean. We will be making our reservations for next year for sure.

It was wonderful! Clean, accessible campsites, wonderful host (shout out to Terry!!), and of course the most beautiful views. We stayed in campsite 10 which was not one of the sites along the lake, but still had gorgeous views. Bathrooms were clean and there is drinking water provided. Plenty of hiking trails and places to access the lake to fish, paddle board, or just hang out! We will absolutely go back.

The Pine Point Campground was one of the nicest I've seen. Outhouses were clean and well maintained. Our host was very nice and super helpful. We'll be back!

This is our favorite camping spot…so beautiful and this year, a very full lake and lush vegetation. Generally quiet and the camp hosts over the years have always been good. Restrooms were always clean. We always try for a site right on the lake for easy access with our paddle boards. This trip was the first time we had several people letting their dogs off leash to wander and that was not ideal but that is unusual.

Great campground. Host was outstanding. Disappointed by the low lake level. Wettest year in 30 years and lake was VERY low. Lake is being managed by someone who panicked and doesn’t seem to understand that water can be let out later if needed. Unfortunate…
