Beautiful quiet campsite despite being close to the road. Minimal traffic during the day and at night. Incredibly clean bathrooms, running water, trash cans, great camp host, clean campsite. Incredibly close to town and other attractions. Will definitely be coming back!

BUGS, BUGS, BUGS! There is such an abundance of overgrowth, and standing water in basically a swamp that abuts to the campground, we were over run with mosquitoes. We were unable to be outside for any period of time. A little attention to thinning out the brush might help with the bug problem. Camp Host was very personable and helpful.

We love Mogote and have camped here for many years, however, facilities need updating. Toilets were kept clean, but are in a state of disrepair.

Beautiful! Loved it.

Upper loop doesn't have many trees and is very open. It looks more desert like. The lower loop has all the great trees, many sites have amazing river access. Be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes. There seems to be a swampy area near sites 22 and 23 near the trash cans that produces these pesky biters.Sam, the camp host does an amazing job at keeping the sites clean and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean and well stocked.If you run out of supplies, there is a small and friendly mercantile about 5 minutes from the campground for you to stock up on what you need, including your fishing license(cash only).We did not see much wildlife other than chipmunks, occasionally we saw a deer on the other side of the river and a couple fisherman saw a bear come down to fish on one of the river islands.

We love going to Mogote. Clean campsite and bathrooms. Friendly host.

Nice campground! Site 22 is way close to 23, we could hear normal conversations between the two sites. Luckily, it was a great group to be next to, but could have easily been a nightmare situation. Campsite itself was very clean, the camp host was incredibly nice and helpful. LOTS of mosquitos so bring a couple cans of bug spray. River was gorgeous, really all around great experience.

Many of the spots require too tight a turn to get even our 22 foot trailer into them. Not having water to fill the trailer was also a huge pain.

Could not find Camp Host to buy firewood. Otherwise, excellent!

It's beautiful. Site is secluded and hear Conejos river.

Quiet and clean facilities - the lower campgrounds are close to the Conejos River, rumored to be buggy part of the season. All in all, very enjoyable.

The spacing of sites is very good. mostly quiet, some "Jake Brake" noise from hwy 17. Sam, the host was friendly and informative I rate him tops. Site 21 should have its own entrance. someone in 21 will block 20.

The camp host, Sam, was great. He cared about his job, making the facility as clean as possible. The bathrooms close to space 3 were bad. The ventilation system was poorly designed and these vault toilets need to be replaced. The campground was well laid out, the sites have lots of privacy. It is a beautiful area. After Mogote we went to Datil Well in Datil, NM and the difference between vault toilets was amazing. The new generation of vault toilets should be copied at every older facility.

We have been to Mogote many times and it never fails to please. The camp host this, Sam, was especially courteous and the grounds and facilities were spotless. And extra credit to Sam for the cinnamon scent in the bathrooms - first time I've experienced this and it's a brilliant idea! Can't wait for next year!

We've stayed here several times. The upper loop is our favorite, it always seems to be less crowded.

Campsite was clean; toilet closest to us was atrocious. Never saw the camp host in our two days there. Probably won’t go back.

Really lovely spot - loved hearing the river. Thought I had a river-facing spot, but it’s more of a bog. The river is on the other side. Lots of mosquitoes but once I put on spray it was all good.
@CarlaM6857877 · Camped on Jul 9, 2022 at Campsite #6
The campground had lots of pull through sites which made it easy to park a trailer. The host kept the toilets cleaned. We took a day trip to the Great Sand Dunes and another to Taos to go rafting. Mogote got rather warm during the days so we spent a lot of time visiting streams and meadows at higher elevations.

Fairly open campground but still nice. Clean bathrooms.
@JeannieB499899 · Camped on Jun 26, 2022 at Campsite #18
Love the campground, clean restrooms, great host, cool weather! BUT the Forest Service needs to fix the road off of Hwy 17 getting to the campground. It is HORRIBLE - full of pot holes!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
