Overall, the experience was good however with the flooding that we had received that day, we were unable to stay at Ives run so we booked a spot at Tompkins Campground when I spoke to a ranger they said that they were going to automatically refund our reservation at Ive run but I have yet to hear from anybody or see a refund posted to the account so overall everything was great, except for they did not follow through with the refund of the Ives run booking.

It was an ok experience until the rangers came by and kicked out the whole section I was camped in because they said the section would be under water. We then had to find another place to camp for our remaining time.

Nice campground, some sites nice and large some smaller, nice paved lake view sites! Grass was a little unkept, but overall nice experience, nice and quiet, definitely would go again.

We stayed at this campground for 6 nights. We chose our site for its location to the bathhouse. Unfortunately the campground map does not have topo lines to determine that it is way down hill and though it was behind our site we had to drive around the campground and park in its lot each time we showered. The bathhouses are clean but could use a little updating. We stayed in site 27 Knoll which is level and somewhat shaded. We had full hookup. Forget internet - not even a speck (Verizon). Also Apple Maps will take you to this narrow, dead in street in Larencewille when you enter Tompkins Campground in your search map. Coming from the south on the interstate, when you exit the interstate traveling to Larewnceville, Apple Maps will tell you to go straight through the traffic light. Turn LEFT at the traffic light and travel a little ways north until Bliss Rd is on your left. Turn on Bliss Rd and you will arrive at Tompkins (Cowanesque) campground. Bring mosquito repellant!

We love cowanesque lake camping! My wish was it was open later in the season to enjoy some fall camping as well!

We love this campground. The sites are nice and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have wood and ice on board so don't have to go out for that. It is close to our daughter and family. Had a lot of fun out on pontoon boat and jet ski.

Loved the area. Great lake for kayaking. We enjoyed visiting the PA Grand Canyon and going on the Ole Covered Wagon.

Very poor cell phone reception and no local TV channels. I didn't need either, so not an issue for me. Was close to the boat dock, so could watch the action. Rest rooms and campground were very clean. Not the first time we've been here, so we knew what was going on.

We love it here! The campground is clean, the sites are large and spaced nicely. The playgrounds are great, and the lake is beautiful. We highly recommend this campground and can't wait for our next trip here!

Great location, quite, very well maintained, wood and ice available right there, great opportunities for activities provided by the volunteers and friends of Cowanesque lake. Staff are also top notch. There's a reason everyone loves Army Corps campgrounds.

GREAT PLACE TO CAMP, FULL HOOK-UPS AND WE HAD A SPACIOUS SITE (#26). THE ONLY THING WAS THE SEWER HOOK-UP WAS NEAR THE FRONT OF THE SITE. NEEDED A LONG HOSE TO CONNECT. WE WILL BE BACK.
@DavidM1864120 · Camped on Jun 12, 2024 at Campsite #57
Very clean , quiet campground. Had water and electric. Camp sites were a little closer than I prefer. Tight fit getting my pickup parked on site. No room for two vehicles, few overflow parking close by. It could use another trail or two.

Very clean, tons of room!Bring your boat!!

Our site was very good - level, private and shady! The only drawback was lack of service on our (Tracfone) cellphones, but that may not apply to everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we do plan to go back!
@JuliaH5228825 · Camped on Jun 3, 2024 at Campsite #8
Large mostly shady and level sites. Sewer hook ups can be far from water and electricmay need extra hose. No Verizon at #8, had to go to marina/boat ramp. Trails are mowed grass and buggy and muddy. Lots of snapping turtles nesting in early Junebe careful as they are on the roads getting to nesting locations. Good road biking on Bliss Road. A few OTA tv stations.

One of the nicest campgrounds Ive stayed at.

We love to camp at Tompkins on Cowanesque Lake. The sights are spacious and a few provide great views of the lake. There are two loops that offer FHU sites and a third loop with water and electric. It's a great lake for kayaking, canoeing and boating. I love to walk on the roads and trails! My only caveat is, some cell service is limited here, but if you are camping to escape this digital world, you are all set!Stop at Tompkins Twist, an ice cream shop, just east of the park entrance. It is delicious!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
