We love to camp here but.... this is the 2nd time (holiday weekend) the campsite we stayed in did NOT get mowed. All around us got mowed but ours did not. Please tell us how or what we are to do to get our spot mowed.

I thoroughly enjoyed my camping experience. The lake is up and the campsites are well maintained. I'm looking forward to my August dates.

Park Rangers did an outstanding job over the 4th of July weekend. Camp Hosts made their daily rounds and were very friendly. We would suggest to anyone visiting for the first time is bring at least 200' of water hose, some water faucets are closer than others. We generally fill our holding tank and use our pump on our RV because of low water pressure.

The restrooms were cleaned daily and were in excellent shape. I especially enjoyed the ornamental plant beds in front of each restroom. The campground rules were fairly enforced and the area was quiet at night. I felt very safe here and would definitely like to return someday.

Arrived at Washington Cove COE campground on 6/9/24 to discover the nearby town of Copan and the campground are under a state ordered "Boil Water Advisory" since 5/14/24 - until further notice. This was not noted on recreation.gov, or (oddly enough) not mentioned in a couple of camper reviews published after the order was in place. After a long driving day, this was not good news. Our freshwater tank was empty but we always carry reserve water and that saved the day on our one night stay. Down by the lakeside at site 34, needed some substantial leveling but got the job done. Another oddity - no picnic table at this site. Restroom/showers were above average, and the park seems fairly well maintained, mowed, etc. Recommend if you are in the area.

The care takers are very nice. They do a wonderful job of keeping things tidy and clean, both in restrooms and at campsites (after people leave). They do not disturb your peace and quiet while you are camping. I recommend camping here anytime. I do wish the 14 days stay was lifted, especially when there are very few camping and the new reservation you want for a different space has open availability.

Love this spot! It might be the best spot on the lake that Ive found so far! Its a bit difficult to back a larger trailer in but otherwise it is great! Wish they still had some sites that were available on a first come first serve basis since the spots were already fully booked for the holiday weekend months ago, and we had to leave for the holiday and wait for a spot to open up. But other than that its a nice place with cleanish amenities. (The showers near the smaller numbered sites are immaculate not even bugs crawling around, but the ones near the park and higher number sites had a bunch of small pocket litter type trash just swept into the corners of the showers and lots of spiders .. and this was after the lady cleaned the bathroom but I guess Some volunteers dont clean as thoroughly as others) Also would be nice if they had a different system for the volunteer campers that insure fairness for all who would like to be able to stay there in exchange for upkeep of the property and facilities. It seems like the same people every year that are in the volunteer sites. Its like They reserve their spot before the end of the season, before anyone else can. I have tried 2 seasons in a row with no luck! But its a very nice lake with a friendly and helpful host and cohost (gate attendants and staff)

We loved our stay at Washington Cove. We were in Space 56 and had a fabulous view of the pelicans on the peninsula near us. Park is well maintained, clean restrooms and quiet, peaceful location.

We had a great 6 day stay! The restrooms and campground were very clean. The office was able to help us switch sites when the water source on the first site was too far for our hose to reach. Very accommodating.

Had a great time. Everything is clean. No problems and quiet. Hope we get some rain to get our lake up to normal again.

We stayed in space 94. We were worried being so close to the showers and restrooms but quickly stopped worrying. The foot traffic was very minimal and the restrooms were maintained very well.

Very nice park and quiet during the week. It has vastly improved since our first visit in 1991 and we always are planning our future stays. Water pressure was very low this time even with a nearly empty campground. Camp host was nice. What bothers us is the fact people are dumping their charcoal ashes, cigarette butts, fish guts, etc in the camp sites. And there is very little being done to discourage or penalize these offenders. There could be a policy set up that prohibits people from reserving future sites once they have trashed a site, this would require camp host to inspect sites once people checked out. .

Very clean showers and well maintained grounds. Wish it would rain so lake will fill back up.

Enjoyed time at Washington Cove. Was disappointed there wasnt separate water hookups for each site. We didnt bring a longer hose to reach the hydrant and had to go buy a new one.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
