Only sewer hookups could have made it better.

It's a nice campground. Odd that the majority of the campsites dont face the water. Unfortunately the water was so low we weren't able to enjoy it.

We loved our stay at Virgil Point on Lake Hugo. Many sites are shaded, and the pads are paved and level. Theres a beach in the campground but it has red clay. The beach at Wilson Point is more sand and thats a 5-minute drive to the other side of the lake. Water and electric work well. No complaints and you cant beat the price, especially with the Interagency Senior Pass that deducts half of the already low nightly price. Well maintained campground. Verizon worked reasonably well, but sending pics takes awhile.

B+ Pecans were A+

Lovely site. Clean. The gravel parking pad for our campervan was very sloped on both sides of the van, not allowing for safe and comfortable movement around the van. Pit toilet back splash was disgusting and required emergency boiling of my lower body.

Virgil Creek was a nice open campground offering lovely water views. The majority of sites had generous pads with covered tables. The drive in was easy enough. I arrived from the north and took the opposite route out. Both were fine. The only difference was the drive from the north was a bit windy, but quite doable in the RV. Not much noticeable activity by the host on site, however the washrooms were clean. My only complaint was that the online campground map indicated that each campground had shower facilities. They do not. The only shower house is located about a half mile from the camping loop. Much more coneviently located to the campground host than to the guests. Not a problem for those of us who are self contained, but for those in tents be warned, the washroom within the loop is a vault toilet.

Very clean and well maintained, only issue were the pads are not wide enough, one trip coming out your camper door will put you into rocky sides.

Very clean, beautiful, quiet, spacious. Only suggested improvement is to have sewer hookups at the site (in addition to the dump station).

Very clean well maintained park. I was favorably impressed. Only downside was that I was unable to get it on my GPS. It would help to have a street address on the website.

Bathrooms were dirty, gate attendants and rangers not friendly.

Host at Virgil pint is running what looks like a used car lot. Very trashy. This has been going on for quite some time which is why we quit going there a while back. Decided to try again hoping this particular host would be gone, but sadly that’s not the case. Won’t be going back any time soon.

The first several days were quite nice and we were enjoying the park. A storm system then came in and apparently the lake was already high. On Wednesday morning at approximately noon we were advised that the park was closing and we needed to immediately leave. I advised that I had lost the key to my vehicle but our spot appeared to be a high enough point that it would be fine and would not flood. I advised that I would come back after the park was accessible again to get my vehicle however the park apparently had it towed. No one called me to advise that it was being towed or who towed it. I am on a very limited budget and by the time I found out where it was the amount the tow company wanted for towing and storage, it was more than I could afford. Therefore I now have only a class a motorhome that has to be my daily driver. The park should have at least come by the day before advising of the possible closure, it's not like the storm appeared out of no where. They had time to advise all 3 campsites of the situation. If I had more than àn hour to prepare to leave I may have been able to find my keys and wouldn't have lost my vehicle. We are disappointed with the way the situation was handled and will not return to this park.

Super clean facilities and campgrounds were well maintained. Pad was in great condition and easy to back in. Plenty of open space for kids to play and the layout of the sites are great for kids to ride bikes without 100% supervision and concern for cars passing by. There were instances of non-campers driving through the RV area that seemed a bit sketchy. Staff on a cart or someone at the gate monitoring people coming and going would have been nice, instead empty our entire stay. Swim area was clean and easily accessible. Very shallow for the little ones to play in the water. Local store very close to grab that 1 thing you forgot with a bigger town with more stores roughly 15 minutes away. Already booked to go back next month!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
