The water was brown and rusty looking coming out of the water hook up sight. The grass was over grown on the utility side. There was a fire ban. Kind of defeats the purpose of camping but nothing on the sight stated there was a fire ban, so no campfire. The gates for entrance lock at 10pm but you cant check in till 6pm, again not on the website. Last but not least-fire ants every where! They bit my husband, me, the kids. We will not do this campsite again. Aug. 31st 2024

We loved this place. We had a beautiful site with a great view of the lake. Even with electric and water, it felt very primitive. We were almost the only people there. Signage to get to the site was poor but park staff was helpful. Would def go back.

Juniper road is an excellent area to camp in with 50 amp electric service and easy to back in campsites. Allows lake access for boats and excellent views of the lake.

Nice place. Beautiful view of the lake. Clean and dump station worked well.

Sites were very nice and well spaced. Plenty of room between sites. Full hookup site with large covered tables.

Every site in J loop is spectacular. Every site is landscaped and looks like something out of a magazine. Lots of hardscaping so if you have young kids, Id suggest the other loops but i dont recall the names. Those were grassy and also inviting.

Lake views were great though from our site N6 we were not able to see the lake from our camper or outside area. Essentially any other site on the N loop would have been better. Our preference for future visits would be the J loop with easier access to the water.

Absolutely love this park. I was camping with a group and next year planning on camping for a whole week or two. The sites are pretty level and concrete. All are on the water. Very peaceful and relaxing. The only drawback is the bath house is a little too far away.
@AndreaH7314496 · Camped on May 3, 2024 at Campsite #N3
Camp site not at all what was expected/described. Original site was back-in on grass area; difficult to even see actual "pad" area. Short, sharp drop off from paved road. Moved to paved, back-in, which was better and adequate for one night stopover. Bathroom/shower house okay; poorly ventilated. Aggressive dogs in next loop over barked incessantly, and not controlled by owners. If you want to stay longer, look for site in "premium" Loop J.

registration was frustrating, we ended up driving through and using the QRC on the sites. Other than than it was most excellent, the shower was both hot and had pressure and the view was stunning.

We stayed 2 nights in the "R" area of Kiamichi park. The area was wonderfully remote, tucked away in the woods. The camping spots had nice separation between them (~100ft?), which added to the sense of solitude and privacy. We were there specifically for the 2024 eclipse, and got a fantastic show. At the time we were there, there was no electricity available in the area. A park ranger explained to me that there was damage to the line "upstream" somewhere. Hopefully they'll get that fixed soon, but even without electricity, it made for a wonderful boondocking experience.

We had a nice campsite in J loop. Level, easy to back into. There were so many fossils down on the lake shore it was crazy!! The only thing that bothered me was that the lights across from us were pretty bright and on all night but that wasnt to much. We watched the eclipse here and it felt very special.

I have camped at Kiamichi Park probably half a dozen times over the past 12 years and am accustomed to seeing the campgrounds kept up very well. Sadly, this time, it was a disappointment. The grasswell, actually, it's primarily weedswas nearly knee-high at our spot (J7). I had to buy a weedeater to knock down some pathways. The high weeds hid dropoffs and depressions around our campsite, which caused me to stumble and fall. That's not a good thing for a person with mobility issues. Thankfully, I was not injured. Additionally, our electrical box was full of old mud dauber nests, which I had to remove to plug in since all three receptacles were covered.I inquired at the gate if and when there would be mowing, and I was told Congress had not appropriated funds for that. Really? People were paying for a service! This was the week of the Total Eclipse, and the park was packed. They knew they would have a full park since reservations started to fill six months prior. I am disappointed with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I will be sending a letter to my Oklahoma Congressman and Senator.On the upside, the bathrooms at Juniper were not too bad. They evidently had funds for that. Despite the crummy weather, I was surprised at how many campers were at the park during our ten-night stay.

Our water faucet did not work, had to go to next camp for water, The Bathrooms were locked, we went to gate office it was always closed, finally knocked on the camp host door and nobody was there. The Electric went off on the whole loop and we were all asked to leave the camp site on Sunday

Beautiful lake views. Easy to get in and out of the parks. Highly recommend, and would stay again when passing through.

Th public restroom/shower area at Juniper could use some cleaning. They weren't cleaned while I was there.

Besides the black widows and wasp in the vault toilets the campground was very nice. Had a nice swim in the lake off the swimming beach.
@JoS8736500 · Camped on Aug 17, 2023 at Campsite #Q2
we arrived at the park not knowing it had been shut down. we got there and no other visitors were there so we had the choice spot at Q-2 and were delighted to enjoy our stay there. It was very quiet and deer were out moving around so made for a very pleasant stay. the place was very clean and mowed all around.

One of the best COE parks I have stayed at and Ive never stayed at a bad one. Every site in J-loop is large and landscaped to be picture perfect. Almost every site has an outstanding view of the lake and has lake front.

This camping spot was on a hill. So walking around the RV and/or walking out of the RV was a challenge. Their was not a good lake view from the RV or from the table/camping area. We drove around the park and found a better spot that was open so we booked that and moved the RV.

Even with the storm, the lightning shore was beautiful reflecting off the water! We celebrated two 70 yr olds birthdays there! 😎

Great sites overlooking the water, well spaced and shaded. Restrooms are single units but a bit of a walk from campsites. Be sure to check out nearby Historic Fort Towson. Depot Steakhouse is excellent. Will definitely stay here again. No T-Mobile phone service.

Park was very clean and well maintained. Setting was beautiful. Nice level pads with covered table. Grill and firepit were nice. Was quiet and relaxing. Only reason not to give 5 stars is would like to see sewer hookup. Other than that it was great.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
