Best camping spot (#6) such a beautiful view of the river
@SusannahS45861 · Camped on Jun 14, 2024 at Campsite #13
Lovely little campground, with some riverfront spots. Some freeway noise, but it gets drowned out the closer you are to the river. Not many bugs when we were there mid-June. Best of all, the pit-toilet restroom was spotless and not smelly at all! Cleanest restroom I've ever seen at one of these campgrounds. Well done!

Good site for watching the river. The noise from the rock wall and the water was loud.

For the most part, this campsite was great! We stayed at site 001 which had the water pump for the entire campground. Other campers were as respectful as they could be of our space, but if privacy is something important to you in a campsite I would not recommend this specific site. Other than that, the outhouses were adequately maintained and camp hosts - while not staying in this campground specifically - made daily rounds. The river that ran alongside the campground didn't seem to attract mosquitos, and provided some nice ambient white noise. No cell service, but a local town roughly 20 minutes down the road had grocery stores, gas, and cell service. All in all a nice place to stay, with plenty of nearby scenic attractions.

Great small campground along the river. Some of the sites are a bit exposed while others give some great privacy and have room for multiple tents. Can hear the road noise from the highway but this is balanced against the sound of the lovely river flowing by. Water pump is practically in one of the sites.

Spacious lot by the River. A bit in the sun, but still with plenty of options for shade. Further from the road provides a more secluded feeling.

Clean and well kept campground. A bit noisy from the road and the river. Still very enjoyable.

Campground is nice, but river access is limited to certain campsites. Campsites are smaller and some don't have areas big enough for large tents, or they are not level. But the area is beautiful. The river makes the highway sounds less annoying. :)

I have been wanting to stay at this campground for quite some time. I wish that some of these FS campgrounds would stay open year round or at least longer as closing them in September is a bummer. This is a great campground, I was reserved in site 6 but my name wasn't on the sign, so I grabbed site 5 which was the only unreserved river front spot left and I am glad it worked out that way. Site 5 is great, though VERY rocky. It goes along the river and there is plenty of privacy when I set up my tent farther down along the river along with my hammock. There is a nice little "beach" in this site as well. We spent most of our time there and waved at kayakers as they floated by. The restroom door was broken and though it said we could use any key to open it, that was not the case. I do mostly dispersing so I have my own bucket with seat lid and shower tent to use that was definitely a life saver for this situation. The fee was really reasonable as most FS campgrounds are and I was really happy with my stay there. I recommend this campground and for people to support the NFS campgrounds and parks...they are much more reasonably priced and have larger more spread out campsites than the washington state parks do.

Because of the fire farther west on Hwy 12, we did not get to stay at the campground on Sept 9. We got turned around and had to go around the north side of Mount Rainier, and it was going to be too late to safely drive that far. Is there any way to get a refund for 2 sites because of of natural disaster? Thanks, Evan

Decent camp sites with river noise instead of highway noise and clean/stocked pit toilets. Fresh water available!

Found the perfect spot for a quick family camping getaway! Nice access point to enjoy the water. The site and campground were quiet and clean. There were bees so be prepared. One of the nicest parts of the trip was our camp host, Summer. She was wonderful to visit with, friendly and welcoming. I saw her and her husband several times. Will definitely be returning!

Beautiful (chilly) river access in campground! Swift current during this visit, with some wading pools along banks loosely constructed of piled rocks. Bathrooms clean and camp amenities (tables, water) working. Camp water great flavor. Road noise loud from roadside/north campsites. River-adjacent sites much easier to hear river over highway. Site #11 would be my top choice spot for next trip. Friendly patrons in campground. No onsite host. Noticeable yellow jackets and other wasps attracted to food, but no chipmunks, raccoons, mice, or other campground pests observed this time. Great swimming at Rimrock Lake - find pullouts along county roads south of lake. Rattlesnakes (plural) on nature trail near Naches. Highly recommend Naches Peak Loop Trail if passing near highway 123 & 410 interchange.

We had an amazing time here! this campsite was very clean and just absolutely stunning. Photos do not do this site justice! Oh, and there's a path down to the river with a small beach at this site and we didn't realize that until we got there... a wonderful surprise!

There’s probably no host on site the site is not level did not fit a 12 people tent there we ended up moving camps. Lots of sun little shade
@AmandaF1656528 · Camped on Jul 15, 2022 at Campsite #12
Really pleased with this campground! We got spot 12 and it was very roomy, level, and shaded. Just across the "road" from the river with nonsites directky next to us. Vault toilets were as clean as you can expect, camp hosts were friendly but not on site, theyre located down the road. The campground map on this site is a little off from where the sites really are, 12 is right on the inside of the loop, and yes the bathroom is right on the edge of the site. Not so close that it was an issue though. When we booked sites 15 and 16 didnt show on the map. They're right to the left of the entrance to the grounds. 16 was tiny. If you're going to have more than 1 tent I would suggest 4, 5, 12, 13, 14 as really good options. 11 seems like the best spot, set back from the road and directly on the river. No issues with bugs or wildlife. Like others have said, this campground is right off the highway but honestly the road noise wasn't an issue. It's not a very busy road at night and the rushing of the river helps drown any sounds as well. If you're going to Rimrock Lake I'd get to any of the day use areas very early, they were packed by 1pm on a weekend. We use AT&T and had very spotty coverage, usually none. Get firewood and ice in Naches! We went to Chester's and Slims Market, both had everything you need.
@BonnieB190 · Camped on Jul 23, 2021 at Campsite #5
The well water is delicious! The pit toilets were cleaned daily but still had flies in the afternoon. Sites 5 and 6 have access to the river, and if you want two campsites to join two groups together, sites 4 & 5 are close together and seem like a natural pairing. Likewise, sites 6 & 7 are close together and seem like a natural pairing.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
