Lovely campground. I ended up chatting with the host for a bit and she was great. The bathrooms were clean and had jokes taped to the wall (what do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear!) you can tell they really take good care of the camp.

Lodge Pole is one of my fo to campground for relaxing, and getting away from it all. The campground has always been clean, quiet and safe.

Lodgepole campground and the camp host were great. Beautiful woods with a small river flowing by the campground. Clean vault toilets. Paved roads (no dust) and near Chinook Pass.

Our campsite, site #2, accommodated our 28 travel trailer and 3/4-ton tow vehicle perfectly. The pull-through site was spacious enough to comfortably fit our rig and still have extra space. If youre towing a trailer in the campground, make sure to drive at a slow pace and be mindful of your mirrors. Some large motorhomes had to navigate corners and seesaws to avoid hitting trees, which gave us morning entertainment. It is doable but plan your turns and you will be fine. Sunshine illuminated our 180-watt solar panels for approximately 4 hours during a sunny July day. During this time of year, we have low electrical requirements for camping and the solar power is sufficient to maintain the trailer battery banks and charge our cell phones. We didnt need to use the vault bathrooms, however they appear clean and well maintained by the camp host. Aside from some generator noise by neighboring campers and the occasional highway road noise from motorcycles, the campground is pleasantly quiet. Given the campgrounds close proximity to the highway, it was a concern at first. As the evening approached, the road noise settled down. A beautiful campground if you are looking for a base camp to go hiking or exploring the area. The campground is about 1-1.5 hours away from Paradise visitor center.

Had a great stay. Had great conversations with Beth, the campground host. Very friendly and informative. If you want a quiet place to stay and enjoy nature and have close access to Mt. Rainier National Park, this is the place to stay.

A little buggy and the sites were small, but hosts were very nice. Prefect secluded location for accessing both sunrise and paradise portions of Mt. Rainer

Clean and quiet with a great camp ground host. Only thing I didnt enjoy were the mosquitoes.
@JeffreyB316807 · Camped on Jun 23, 2024 at Campsite #25
The campgrounds are well kept. We love the sites along the river. Just one issue during our stay this time were the MOSQUITOES, crikey they were dreadful! Weve never had a problem before and we nearly always camp in June. The camp hosts were wonderful - they were so helpful when one of our group needed to change sites! Thank you Beth & partner.

Beautiful, well maintained campground. The vault toilets were some of the cleanest I have ever experienced. My kudos to the camp hosts.

When I reserved my campsite online, it stated that it was appropriate for a camp trailer of my size. It was a very tight fit. And backing into it was very challenging. It appears a new loop was added relatively recently. The sign said "no trailers". These sites were much more spacious, with much more room to back in. How ironic. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, and the camp hosts were great. A lot of trees were dropped due to insect/disease. Sure would have been nice if they were bucked up so campers could split them up and use them for firewood. It seems like the USFS does minimal upkeep on infrastructure. That's too bad.

The good: Nice low-key campground with close proximity to Chinook Pass. A bit further to Eastside Rainier locations (Ohanepecosh, White River / Sunrise). Clean facilities. The bad: Our *paid for* reservation didn't get posted on the space we reserved, which we reserved a week in advance. The space did have a posting with other reservations before and after our dates. Since there were unreserved spaces in the campground, someone else could have easily occupied our space before we arrived very late afternoon. The camp host wasn't in residence, and didn't return for a few days. So it would have been up to the goodwill of the other party to consider the paperwork we had. Could have been out of luck at a full campground.So whoever the vendor is that collects the reservation $ on recreation.gov appears to just collect $, and not provide any service. Why do they have this contract?

Very spacious and well positioned lot. Campground was quiet even on a busy summer weekend. Clean bathrooms.

Nice campground. I had a site away from the river but could still vaguely hear it. Sites are pretty big. One water spigot that I found on the last day near the entrance. Neighbors were noisy and continued being loud after quiet hours. Also, recreation.gov says camps fully booked on a Saturday, but Id say there were around 15 sites reserved that people just didnt show up.

Nice location. A lot of room. Facilities well kept up and camp host very knowledgeable about the area. Would go back.

Nice area but close to highway so can be noisy in the daytime. Campgrounds have a modern feel. No cell coverage and campsite host is AWOL a lot. Took him 2.5 days to respond to note I left on his trailer.

Nice clean beautiful place to camp

The park is beautiful, but campsite number 10 is incredibly noisy due to proximity to Highway 410. The nearby river is beautiful and the camp is very clean. Restrooms were clean too! Best to camp along the river side!
@MichelleM70561 · Camped on Jul 4, 2023 at Campsite #10
This site is very close to the highway. Not good place for a family with pets or children or if you're trying to connect to nature and get quiet space. Not secluded. Has an ant hill about 10 ft away. Not fun. Has mixed sun and shade. River is located down steep lose rock path. Again, not a safe place to swim, wade or bring kids or pets. Glacial waters. Short but okay trails. Conclusion: Okay for a quick one night stay passing through, but there are several other camps that are close and much better.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
