We had site #6. Perfect access to river. Sun during the morning and afternoon but also shade. Wonderful space. Only about 4 sites being used on this last weekend - too bad! Beautiful beautiful weekend :)

Reserved site 5 for 2 nights, then extended our stay in site 2 for 1 night, then site 1 for 2 more nights. Camp hosts Dave and Summer were so hospitable and friendly, such spectacular hosts! The little primitive vault toilets were clean and smelling fresh. They had bee traps up, and firepits tagged out for the burn ban, and kept an eye that the dispersed campers up the road didn't ravage the campground facilities. It was a quiet week, and the weather was great. A doe and her twins and gray jays and other birds frequented the area. We explored the waterways and geology in the area each day, and enjoyed peaceful quiet nights in this gem of a campground. Thank you Dave and Summer! You guys ROCK!

Campground was great. We stayed in spot 5 and had wonderful water access. We had the whole campground to ourselves all week. Easy to get to, easy access camp spots. It was all great. Camp hosts are new this year and didnt have much info for hiking for us, and with no cell service we just kind of had to wing it but it was fine! Bathrooms are pit toilets and were kept up fine. We will be back!

Since there was a fire ban I did not enjoy the fact that one camper across from us proceeded to have an open fire both nights we stayed.

Campground was cleaned and well keptHost was amazing, she was courteous and informative.Perfect for families with kiddos (River water is calm and low, bring water shoes)Quiet at night (no RV buzzing after hours, youll have you bit trouble with 45 here be careful)Vault ToiletWater PumpDumpstersOnly issue is some sites not very level for tenting and some campers are inconsiderate of what they leave behind trash and fire still burning. Poor Host had to figure out how to haul out a huge log someone brought left still burning at their site yikes.

River is super close and bathrooms & water supply right across the path, loved the spacious campsite and privacy we had, very pet and children friendly! My 3 & 6 yr old loved it and so did we!

The campground was primitive, with a water pump and pit toilets. The campsites were good sized, but many of them were close to Hwy 410 so there was considerable road noise. The campsites and campground was clean, and was on the Little Naches River, which was very nice.

Thoroughly enjoyed Little Naches for our family’s first ever camping trip! Other reviews are correct that the campground map on this website is inaccurately portrayed. The majority of the sites have a decent amount of both sun and shade, a bonus for tent campers. Sites 4-8 are along the river. Site 5 has the very best and easiest river access, and likely is where the main picture for the campground was taken! Each site has a fire pit, picnic table, and log “bench” to sit by the fire. The campground is well maintained, with a hand pump on site for water, garbage cans for trash collection, and vault style restrooms. The restrooms were a bit buggy, and our boys said the men’s rooms were disgusting but the ladies rooms were fairly clean and well supplied. Be sure to bring good bug spray - there were a LOT more bugs than we expected! Campground host was visible enough but it didn’t seem quiet hours were observed or enforced. Learned a little too late that we could’ve purchased firewood from the host. There is almost no firewood on site otherwise, but a little 5 min drive up the road and you can get fuel, ice, firewood, and a decent supply of other misc items. Another reviewer mentioned how loud the traffic was on 410. I will say the sites along the river will get the most road noise, but we found it wasn’t actually from traffic on 410, it was traffic passing the campground entry to go off-roading. Luckily traffic dies down in the evenings and we weren’t bothered by it much. Beware of cars randomly stopped on that road though if you come and go, presumably to figure out where they’re going. Note that there is ZERO cell phone reception starting well before you get to the campground and all the way up through Chinook Pass and Mt Rainier!!

Pros: clean and stocked vault toilets, potable water, right on the river. Cons: right off 410 so you can hear the traffic super clear. Thankfully at night its not super busy so traffic doesn't disrupt your sleep BUT it does take away from the "in nature" feel during the day. We were in campsite 005 which is right on the river. The map shows the layout flipped (you come in and go straight with campsite 001 on the right and then loop around; lower numbers are along the river except when you get to about campsite 007 the next few back right up to 410). Campsite 005 was very spacious, could easily fit 4 tents. Great river access directly from the camp but the women's toilet is right at the campsite so you get to hear the door slam all day/night long.

It was very peaceful. We originally reserved a space by the river, but when we arrived to check in that space was occupied. None of the spaces indicated they were reserved so we chose another space. There were only a few other campers so it was nice. The campground is on Highway 410 so you can meander one direction or the other. About 5 miles to the west is the turn off for Bumping Lake. Another 15-20 miles more and you have crossed Chinook Pass on your way to Mount Rainier Nat'l Park. Three miles to the east is Whistlin' Jack's Lodge; a few more mile east is Gold Creek Restaurant, Lounge and Grocery. If you follow the road into the forest from the campground (northish), you will find an interesting dam and fish ladder where you can wander, climb, wade and even float in the water. This road follows the stream where there are several places you can pull over and splash all you want. This side of Hwy 410 is for motorized vehicles and there are trails all over for motorcycles, side by sides and Jeeps. The whole area is beautiful, with birds, deer, elk and other kinds of critters. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back again.

There were people all set up in our spot at 4 pm. There was no on-site camp host that I could find. We were told by the people in our spot that they had been assigned that spot with the host at the nearby campground at Sawmill Flats. We drove to Sawmill Flats and there was no host there either.There was no way to solve the problem. We had no cell service. We left.

This was a first for us and I really enjoyed the visit! The river near by, trails, friendly neighbors.

Great sites in this campground, all sites seem to be fairly large. Pit toilets and pump drinking water. Site #3 was great with access to river. A few flat spots for tents and beautiful ponderosa pines to admire. A fire pit with grate along with the picnic table pulls the site nicely together. Partly shady with a breeze off the river make 90+ degree weather bearable.

We had the best time at this campground. A big thing to note- and I only found out by searching for reviews- the site numbers online are wrong. They start at 1 on the right coming in. So site 9 is actually site 3. I highly recommend site 3. Lots of space between you and the other sites, right on the river, and quick access down the path to a fantastic swimming spot. The vault toilets were surprisingly clean, but I was the only tent camping female using it. The camp host was super nice and allowed us to set up a few hours early since the spot was clean. We will definitely come back. Great access to other rivers and Bumping Lake.

The campsite numbers at Little Naches campground are WRONG on the reservation site. I reserved the site adjacent to the group site on the river which on the website map is listed as #09. Site 09 is actually the smallest site without shade right on the highway. I never would have reserved this site. The site across from the group site I THOUGHT I reserved is site #02. We had a whole bunch of people get screwed up by this mishap; my friends were to camp in our site but it was way too small for a second tent / vehicle. I reported all this to Rec. Gov but got a form letter in response. It was very disappointing especially since those who reserved site 02 never even showed up to use it. Big bummer.

The campground was very clean as were all the restrooms. The camp host was very friendly stopping to check to see if I was alright since I was the only camp for both days I was there.

The camp host(s) were great. The bathrooms were very clean even though it was a busy holiday weekend. Camp hosts worked diligently to keep the bathrooms clean. Our camp site was very spacious and there was adequate privacy. The location of the campground is very convenient, as only a 15-20 minute ride to a nearby convenience store stocked with all necessities and also very close to hiking trails and remote outdoor activities.

We love this little campground. We always have a fun time there. It’s clean and the price is still affordable. We love listening to the River.

Would definitely recommend this place! Its very nice and quiet and clean even the vault restrooms! Quiet hours are 10pm to 8am. Rangers usually come by to make sure everything is ok. There is no cell service (AT&T, Verizon and Tmobile) in a way was great to get away from it! Dont bring hammocks or anything that has to be tied to the trees because its not allowed because it damages the trees. Only downside is that there was a burn ban so we couldn’t have a campfire. We used propane stoves for cooking. Oh and it has clean water that i saw people got drinks from but we brought our own water. Its a great place with a beautiful creek with some semi deep spots for swimming. Will definitely go again next year but maybe earlier in the year hopefully before any burn ban goes in effect.

We really enjoyed this campground. The location was great right next to the river with a big swimming hole available. It was a little tight driving around the loop but not bad. My only real complaint is that the recreation.gov reservation map is not at all accurate with the actual campground layout. When you enter the loop site #1 starts on the right and goes numerically around ending with #16 on the left as you exit the loop by the dumpsters. Overall it was a nice quiet place to camp and I would go again.

This is a really nice campground but since it is right next to the highway it is a bit noisy.

Hot weekend? Come to Little Naches. It was great to cool off all day in the small river. Very clean and quiet at night. The restrooms are clean and stocked. Only 4 miles from the nearest little shop incase you forget something.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
