This campground is busy. Lots of generators running and several ATV/dirt bikes around. Campground in general is loud through late evening. The water pump is interesting but effective - bring a bucket or container with a handle to hang under faucet. Much easier. Campsite 16 has a table in a location thats difficult to hang cover due to lack of trees. Toilets stink terribly but always stocked with TP. On our second evening during dinner, we started dealing with aggressive yellow jackets. We made it through dinner and the night and awoke to the sound of them buzzing around the tent and table (all food was covered, trash disposed of, etc.) We attempted to make breakfast and the yellowJackets ruined it. After one of our children was stung on the hand, we opted to depart a day early. Must have been a nest nearby. Between rain on day/night one, the noise and yellow jackets on day/night two, this experience was pretty disappointing. Wont be coming back.

The camp ground host, Dale, does an excellent job of managing the campground. Out houses are clean and well stocked. I appreciate that he enforces the rules. He makes frequent drive-throughs of the entire campground. Excessive music noise kept under control. He extinguishes and reports abandoned fires in fire pits. Water pump is finally working okay this year. Campground road surface is breaking up and continues to get worse each year. Needs complete resurfacing and edge buildup. Tall, leaning snag right next to the popular swimming hole in Little Naches River directly across the road from the campground needs to be cut down for safety of campers. Please fall this snag as soon as possible. Don't see any progress by Forest Service on planting trees to replace all those that in my opinion were needlessly removed in the campground thinning operation two years ago. We were told by the Forest Service before the thinning that replanting was part of the plan. Irreparable damage done to this campground. Only hazard trees need to be removed. The character and beauty of the campground were seriously impacted. Cleanup of branches and fallen trees insufficient. Sad to see.

Well taken care of and very pleasant

The host, was diligent in keeping the grounds and vault toilets clean, well stocked, and presentable. He also provided firewood at no charge to anyone in need. Without doubt the most enjoyable visit to one of our forest campsites due in large to the efforts of the camp host.

Campground is wonderful, other then the motorcycles driving through, and racing down the road next to the campground.

super clean campsite, cleanest bathrooms ive seen based off use. FYI, if your apposed to small gas engines, this is not the place for you. Gennys everywhere, with ORV/ATV use all around this area. Fishing was excellent in the Naches, and little Naches. I highly recommend a nymphing fly setup! Cutts, Rainbows, and Bullys.

Nice campsite, flush toilets near sites 40/41. Site 40 is marked handicapped parking and requires a placard according to the campground manager.

Kaner Flat was awesome this trip. The host kept the bathrooms cleaned daily and it was quiet when it was quiet time.

Love the area and great campground with a lot to do! Also, friendly camp host, but we felt bad for him because his first week on the job someone vandalized the water pump system, urinated all over the toilet paper (and splatted poop) in the pit toilets. So be prepared for those issues! The host also took very heated words from people not obeying the rules of the camp, which is to keep your dog on a leash. What is wrong with y’all!

Flush toilets next to our site was great. They were not cleaned our 4 day stay, but the toilet paper was restocked.

Very quiet and beautiful area . Site 26 was private and deep into woods space .bathrooms and garbage nearby also walking trails .only downfall is dirt bikes and quads all hours of day and night racing down the road nearby Clean and everyone was friendly and respectful Enjoyed the chipmunks,squirrels and birds Bring your peanuts!

This campground is non electric in total. Meaning that the bathroom also does not have electricity or running water. There is a water pump that we eventually found after a day of staying but even that didn't say if it was drinking water or not. Be prepared to have your own water and lighting.
@GeneG8226577 · Camped on Jul 24, 2022 at Campsite #16
Even though the campgrounds are going through some tree thinning which is making a mess, camping was still enjoyable.
@TerryE6843830 · Camped on Jul 21, 2022 at Campsite #30
Love this campground! Spaces are of a decent size for an RV and a tent. Some picnic tables are old and need to be replaced, as was the one at our site. After the many dead and dangerous trees were cut down there was a lot of firewood to be had by all campers. We will definitely do it again!
@AbigailW644218 · Camped on Jul 16, 2022 at Campsite #3
There was a lack of security (as in no security) which was a big problem when we had an incident with another camper and no cell service. Also, I think it’s a little crazy that there was no hand sanitizer in the rest rooms. It was hard to find and very few signs. It would have been much better if there were some faucets with running water.
@JamesB7853748 · Camped on Jul 14, 2022 at Campsite #12
When we researched this site, the description said flush toilets (nope) and running water (one hand pump). Our site was pleasant and spacious, and the nearby river was beautiful. The downside for us was the OHV enthusiasts revving their engines and whooping deep into the evening. Worst was some knucklehead shooting off his AR into who knows where every night. With Guns, screaming engines, and too much Keystone, this otherwise pleasant spot is just not our vibe.
@RichardP563677 · Camped on Jul 5, 2022 at Campsite #3
We were dismayed by the amount of slash remaining from the logging operations that were conducted within the campground. The privacy between campsites was reduced and the campground was left with a large amount of burnable slash between campsites. We hope to see a huge improvement next year when new trees/shrubs are replanted.

@PAULAW7879009 · Camped on Jun 16, 2022 at Campsite #41
Very disappointed in how the campsites looked. Also, no campground host to complain too. Forest service person came to our spot to collect fees for extra vehicle, which we explained we already purchased with our reservation, but she stated it wasn't on our reservation. Paid her an additional $5.00 fee. Doubt we will be back for awhile! Very disappointing!!!
@DonB9851872 · Camped on May 26, 2022 at Campsite #40
Very disappointed in how the campground looks this area with large piles of trees everywhere. No campground host. It is being ran into the ground in my opinion we have faithfully camping there for about 10 years. However I think that is coming to an end.

Clean and orderly
@RichardP398 · Camped on Jul 6, 2021 at Campsite #12
The only hand water pump at the campground is very difficult to operate and is essentially unusable. We have to travel to a different campground to get water for an extended stay. The water pump has been in this condition for years and it is the number one improvement needed at this campground. A lot of the trees in this campground are marked for removal next winter. Hazard tree removal yes, but don't see the need for all the others. Campground will become more open, affecting the character of it significantly. The money for needless removal of trees would be better spent on water pump repair. Asphalt paving on campground roads is deteriorating and needs repair. Dedicating the use of camp sites to the Quad Squad as compensation for their volunteer work at the Kaner Flat Campground is setting a dangerous trend. Is the Naches Ranger District going to dedicate a site for my use if I pay to repair the water pump? The sites were recently unused on busy weekends. This is a Forest Service campground open to all and granting use privileges to certain groups is discriminatory. The Quad Squad is using the volunteer work to further their agenda. They also now have quad trail access directly into the campground and this appears to be another favor. This level of cooperation with the Quad Squad needs to be reversed.

Very quiet. Clean. Just make sure you have lots of water and propane. Lots of trails, great walk around the whole camp and access to the river. Great time

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
