All the sites are LARGE and well spaced.11 could see the road very clearly which we personally dont like but it isnt that busy and is completely silent at night. No river access from our site. Little bit of a yellow jacket problem but a protein bait set away from us kept them entertained. Road is great for bikes, not so much for scooters.Found LOTS of trash and went on litter walks as the campground is taken care of a host at the campground down the road. Quick glance it looks clean but theres a lot missed. Right by the pit toilet which when the wind blew our way we could smell. Site 12 has no privacy to site 11 as theres not enough brush/ trees. The water pump is fun and a workout :DWe liked the campground and would return, just maybe not this site or 12 to escape seeing the cars pass. Neighbors saw elk! We werent so lucky.

I assumed the campground was in Glacier Park. The is a Cougar Rock in the Park. When I entered Cougar Flat into imap it took me to Cougar Rock even though I entered Cougar Flat. It was almost dark & I was lucky enough to find a one night opening at Cougar Rock. Then had to switch sites the next day in Cougar Rock , plus I was paying for both Cougar Rock & Cougar Flats. Very Disappointed. This needs to be fixed

This is actually a pretty nice, although basic, campground. Yes, the Bumping Lake campground is pretty desirable due to the proximity to Bumping Lake, but it's not too far of a drive and this campground is smaller and much less crowded. Plus, it does not fill as quickly. There are some nice hikes nearby, too. I definitely recommend this campground.

Good stay. Quiet campground & clean restroom; no liter in campground. Lots of recreational opportunities in the area: trails, multiple campgrounds & boat launch/marina. Very friendly host. High visibility in campground & on trails - multiple trips thru the campground each day.

Visited this site (2) 6/30-7/2 with a group of 3 people who each had their own tent. The space was HUGE, and could easily fit another 3 tents. It was surrounded by trees and logs to separate the other campsites on the right and left of us. The very friendly campsite host gave us a parking pass and information about going to the lake nearby. She also told us we can grab any branches and logs for the fire which was very useful for our situation - we ran out of firewood on the last night. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the number of bugs that were at the site during sunset, sunrise, and at night. They seemed to calm down in the afternoon. Also, the bathroom is just an outhouse and it's totally a personal preference. Other than that, this place is absolutely beautiful and away from any big city for 1+ hours. Highly recommend bringing a ton of bug spray though!

Great place for camping but no on site support what so ever. We had someone take one of our reserved spots all weekend long and no one would answer a phone to do anything about it.

Mosquitoes were a little annoying and we had to leave 1 day early because of fire.

Peace and solitude. River access. Lake right down the road. Woods and wildlife. Great camping spot.

Campground sites were nice and roomy with lots of shade but very dusty. No one was around to manage the late night noise or parties that went on every night until the wee hours of the morning. A domestic occurred at one of the campgrounds and the participants were intoxicated and were playing loud car music until after 2 am. Bumping Lake day use was closed but the parking lot was packed and hundreds of people were gathered at the day use park and marina although it was posted “closed”. Bathrooms were closed and there was human feces and toilet paper strung all over. Very disappointing! We will never return here!

I like cougar flats, but they allow too much overcrowding. Our first night (Thur) was fine, but on Friday the crowds came pouring in. We were in campground #3 and the sites #1 and #2 had people coming in all night long. I couldn't count the people, but There were over 6 tents set up at each site. The people were noisy, playedloud music andmade the overall camping experience miserable.

Fantastic campground. It’s small, so not much noise from others and the sites are spacious so what few neighbors there are, are not too close. This campground also had the cleanest bathrooms (pit toilets) I’ve ever seen in a campground or park.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
