Campsite was clean and well maintained, whole campground looked similarly taken care of. Quiet during the week, little MC aviation noise. Room to park a trailer. Have stayed a few times, probably will again. If it's warm it will be buggy, it is on the river.

Best view at site 9, with a trail to the water where you can set up a hammock, make sure you bring some bug spray, wonderful host, very clean and quiet sites, close to Morehead and Beaufort, great town for biking, absolutely a gem.

Awesome place. Its right on an ocean inlet so you have a constant breeze coming in. It was mostly shady all over the campground. Tonia and Will the camp hosts were super easy to get along with. You couldnt have asked for nicer people. Tonia and my 5 year old son developed a unique bond while we were there that just warmed my heart. We were on a trip for his 5 birthday on the 4th of July. Watching the tide come in and out at the kayak launch was pretty neat to see being from the mountains. My boys played with the fiddler crabs catching and letting them go. The campsites were very clean and maintained. They all have circular fire pits with grills, a good long picnic table and places to hang lanterns. Our site had a nice lil tent pad outlined with wood but we had brought a camper. The bugs werent too bad. Certain times of day these lil biting flies would be around. Bug spray helped. Tonia told us the more you swat the more aggressive theyll get. It was a hard discipline to learn lol. It wasnt all that bad really dont let the inlet bugs deter you. The south bound trailhead of the mountains-to-sea trail extends through the campground to the coast. It was kind of neat because it runs through our home town in western nc. My oldest son and I did a little bit of hiking on the trails. They were also well maintained. The campground was 30 minutes from the beach stuff but only about 10 minutes from a bp gas station. The cell phone service was just fine and no different than being at home. They had bathrooms on each end of the grounds and a water spigot about every 3rd campsite. Bear proof trash cans also. Gates stay open from 6am to 10pm. I guess you could park outside the gate and walk in if you came in late. All in all we had a great time and will definitely be going back to Oyster Point. I told Tonia they should rename the campground after their last name followed by island. When you meet them you will get a laugh at that.

We had a great time. The host was very pleasant and informative. Our picnic table was broken but we brought our own so it didnt affect us. Bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen at a campsite. We will definitely be going again.

We love camping at Oyster point. Its quiet and peaceful. Only problem is the bugs. The no see ems and may flies are not friendly. LOL. Bug spray is a must

Great view of the river, camp host is awesome, close enough to the beach but still kinda remote, and quiet. We stayed in early April and early May, no bugs in April, but in May the black flies and midges were relentless, bring spray and hope for wind off of the river.We will return.

Pretty basic campground, pit toilets and a few water spigots scattered throughout, but I really enjoyed my stay. It was quiet and the camp host was wonderful. Thank you Tonya! Bugs were nonexistent this time of year, the river was gorgeous and the campground was right at the Nuesiok Trial head making for easy access to day hiking. Hope to come back again next year!

Great, small campground! Nicely spaced sites. Clean and well maintained. And a wonderful host, ready to answer all questions.

The site was beautiful. I was there in mid-December when a storm was approaching so we had the entire campground to ourselves other than the camp host. It was a great spot and Tanya (the camp host) was very friendly and accommodating. The facilities were clean and the access to the water and the trail was as advertised and close. Highly recommend!

We went over the thanksgiving holiday and first come first serve spots were all full, but we managed to find a spot and had to switch for the next night. Overall the campsite is beautiful and clean. We hiked the Weetock trail loop (9 miles) which was lovely, a 15 min drive from the camp.

Beautiful camping destination, right on the water. Ideal if the weather is cool enough to control insects, which it was during Thanksgiving.

The host, Tonya was extremely kind and welcoming. The whole campground, our campsite and the bathroom were very clean and quiet. It has beautiful walking trails and areas to see the water. There were very little bugs, if any. I believe this is the best time of year to go!

The campground was beautiful, quiet, clean and Tonia was a wonderful host. Even though its dry camping, the hut bathrooms were clean, well stocked with toilet paper and didnt smell at all. There were water spigots to fill your water jugs close to a few sites. The sites were large, clean and quiet. We didnt have firewood to start and Tonia was sweet enough to give us a few starter logs until we were able to run to Walmart and get some. We went for an early trip for my husbands birthday and learned that Tonia shared a birthday with my husband. We went in early October and bugs werent an issue and no problems at all. Hands down the nicest dry camping campground weve stayed in. We will definitely be back.

Definitely should have mentioned that there wasnt a beach to access the water. Was bummed by that. tarantula sized spiders sent us packing. Was there and unloaded, walked to the water and walked right back, packed up and it was all said and done in less than an hour. Sorry but there is no way I will return there. Ever. Unless its burned down first. The camping spots were nice size

This was my first time ever camping and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Tonya, the host, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She gave us information on interesting places in the area, gave us fishing tips and checked in on us regularly. There was only 1 other person in the campground during out weeklong stay so it was quiet and peaceful - exactly what we needed!The only downside of visiting in August was the mayflies - they are awful! Otherwise, we will definitely be back!!!

Horrible in the summer. Super hot and bugs EVERYWHERE! Somehow they even got in through the rain fly and bug net on the tent. Maybe it would be better in the winter but I’m not convinced.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at this camp. We rented the whole camp ground and had a church boys camp here, and it was so much fun! A great home base as we went to do several activities in the area. Tanya, the camp host, was super sweet and kind and we had fun getting to know her too! We were worried about mosquitos, but they weren't a problem at all. The "noseeums" came out at dawn and dusk, but the No Natz spray worked great on them (Google that and buy some!) Beautiful, quiet area, near the waterway.

Large sites, pit toilets, quiet spot. The deer flies are insane on Mother’s Day weekend. Be prepared!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
