A really simple thing to bring is a doormat. It is impossible to not track in sand and a doormat would be extremely helpful

Its hard to complain when Im this close to the water! We were in Cabin 3 and the location is great. Gas was $6 a gallon and ice was about $5 per bag. Completely reasonable-its an island. The staff was great with our kids. Its totally worth going down to the point past the light house. We went in July and brought an ac. We didnt last year. The only reason for 4 stars is that the cabin wasnt clean. It smelled. The trash can lid was covered on both sides with rotted food and mold. The shower has a good amount of sand in it and the stove was just dirty. We gave the inside a decent cleaning and added cleaners to our list for next time.

Even though they fumigated for bedbugs the week prior to our visit. 5 guests ended up getting bit by bedbugs. We found live bed bugs in the cabin on the last day while cleaning up and all of us had to steam and sanitize all belongings before bringing them into the house when we left the island. I wish I was notified prior about the bedbug fumigation because we would have chosen to camp instead. Instead 5 households were put in danger of bedbug infestation due to lack of communication. I informed the people in charge upon checkout that they need to fumigate again and hoped that they would check better after fumigation. I have still yet to see any partial or full refund from my stay.

Just an incredible place to visit. No hotels no restaurants. No noise. Just the ocean. Cant wait to go back. Cabins were what we expected. Just a place to sleep and get out of the elements. Rangers and volunteers were great. Ferry service folks were great too. Going to book for next year!!

We stayed in Cabin 5 for 3 nights in May. The cabin was clean, and everything functioned properly. The volunteers and park staff were also very accommodating. We spent our days fishing from one end of the island to the other. The bite was slow, but we managed enough for a couple meals. It was nice to have a solid place to get out of the wind, take a shower and eat at the end of each day. We carried a small generator, which is nice, but we could have easily managed without one with some portable back-up power supplies to recharge our devices. The island is a special place. We are looking forward to our fall trips in October.

Our experience was terrific. The cabin was rustic, but as advertised. My mates had pretrip concerns, but: Water was fine, quite drinkable, hot when it was supposed to be and pressure fine; bunks were relatively comfortable; generator hookup was simple and easy to use; no bathroom issues, either with water or conflicts for use with 8 mature fellows; windows worked fine, screens; porch was great, with screens intact and a great secondary place to hang out; propane oven/stove worked fine.We had a great first experience and will certainly consider the cabins for future trips to the coast.PS and the bluefish blitzed our last afternoon there!! as a buddy put it '25 minutes of hysteria!!'

The cabins are very simple but that's not a bad thing. I can't describe how beautiful and quite the beach is. The fishing is awesome and the history on the island is neat as well. My brothers and I had an amazing trip. We all agreed that we will definitely be back. The only complaint is the flies they are relentless however they eventually mosey on. I truly hope people don't ruin this awesome national park. The generator plug is a 20amp 120v plug for those who are wondering, and they do sell regular gas and OFF ROAD diesel (red diesel) that's important to know.

The office staff was excellent in helping resolve a driving permit issue. Tonya in the office is a resource the Park Service should value. Supervenient Jeff West has changed the culture of this park. The staff is now friendly and very helpful. That has not always been the cast. I have been going to the park annually for 40 plus years. The is the best staff ever.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
