Above and beyond what we imagined.Check in process was easy no wait time started to enjoying right way.No issues occur during our stay. No blander in the kitchen, and as long as you don't forget your pillows and blankets all great. We will be coming back.

So peaceful great place to get away from everything and just enjoy life. All we needed was to bring food and sheets which was less than anywhere else. Great way to enjoy nature and the forest without the outdoor camping but the feel of it. Springs within 30 mins but I didn't want to leave cabin. Great family vacation. Felt like it was my home. Reccomend planning next trip here. I am so anxious to go back

It was great to see that the dock has been rebuilt. The cabin seems to be getting a little moldy. Not sure how often the filters in the a/c are replaced, but it might help. Overall, it is always a great place to stay and we'll always be back.

Great time. Hard to find tho. Putting Lake Dorr Cabin in my GPS did not provide any information but went to campground and camp host provided directions and her GPS system did provide information when Lake Dorr cabin was typed in. Would of be nice to have better description of beds 2 sofa sleepers in living room, bedroom 1 a double bed, bedroom 2 had four twins (2 sets of bunk beds) wasnt sure how many canoes were suppose to be there one description said 3 and one just said canoes there were 2 canoes and 6 life vest 4 paddles. The property is beautiful with lots of wildlife, we saw on the property or in the water: FL sandhill cranes, a red banded water snake, and a bobcatI will be back to take full advantage of the wonderful cabin.

We had a great time! It is so private and quiet and the stars at night were amazing! The dock was the perfect spot for morning coffee and sunrise. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. My kind of place, wonderful.

Great place! Clean, quiet, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful grounds and lake view. Nice hiking trail just outside of gate. Great place to paddle! Saw several eagles and deer.

The nature and the setting of the cabin is beautiful. That's where great things about our stay end.The cabin itself... where do I start... very dirty, if not filthy. Upon our arrival, it looked like it has not been cleaned for at least a few months. Piles of sand on the floor, dirt all over, characteristic smell. The rug in the middle of the living room had a distinguished border of dirt around it and stains all over. The couches were extremely worn and nasty to sit on. I don't think the surfaces like windows sills or shelves have ever been dusted.As another reviewer pointed out, the fireplace is "out of order", but it doesn't prevent the cabin to be advertised as the one having it. The cabin is also advertised as having 2 queen-sized beds. That's not true. There is 1 queen bed and 2 pull-out couches. Since we counted on 2 queen beds, we had to use one of the couches. When we took off the cushions, we found all kinds of stuff inside the couch. So disgusting - pop corn, bread crumbs, pieces of food. The pull out mattress is not even remotely flat - if you want to have pain in your back, sleeping on this couch is the way to go.The "best" part - I called the office and told them about the extremely dirty state of the cabin. I was told a cleaning crew would come over the next morning - no one showed up the next morning or the following one (we stayed for 3 nights).If you value cleanliness at least a little, stay away from this cabin.

This was a very clean, well maintained cabin with fairly nice amenities. The lake was absolutely beautiful and the canoes were fully functional. Overall, the setting was quite serene and lovely. I would not hesitate in recommending this to a family looking for a weekend get-a-way.

First and foremost we picked this cabin because it came with a fireplace and firewood. Sadly when we got there for our three night stay we were given2 small pre-packaged bags of wood that most people would burn through in a couple of hours at home in a firepit. Then we got inside the cabin and found a big sign that said the fireplace was "Out of Order". When we asked about this, we were told that they had no idea why it was listed as out of order it was what they were told 7 months ago when they started... Apparently nobody has looked into it since. It would have been nice to have some kind of notice on the website since they had a MINIMUM of 7 months to update the website. If it had been marked we would not have booked the cabin. Overall the location was okay. The cabin itself was suitable. The toilet wobbled when you sat on it. The dishes were dirty in the cabinets. For a locations that is both government funded and charges $150 a night on average being booked out for months... you think they could afford to fix these few things. We called the rangers on Saturday afternoon to ask a question and got the voicemail stating that they are there 7 days a week... they called us back Monday morning. I am giving this a 2 star rating because it has potential, however it falls GREATLY short of the expectations that we had from everything we read prior to arrival.

The cabin is advertised. We had a great time. The ares was wonderful and was we had a nice get away. The cabin could have been cleaned a little bit better and the pot and pans need to be replaced.

There are some really great off road trails for motor bikes or four wheelers. Pictures are stunning on the property. Bring bug spray, there are definitely ticks.

Cabins great! Very secluded, way back in woods. Represented and advertised accurately. If you want to bake, like food requiring a baking pan etc..,. you will need to bring baking pans, other than that they have assorted dishes. Leave cabin clean and they will refund your security deposit. We have T Mobile cell service and always had a cell phone signal. We visited nearby springs like Alexander Springs, and it was great there! We will be going back!

Be aware during this season that it does rain a bit and the many holes that are on the dirt road to the cabin can be filled with water quickly and for at least 2 days after. Depending on the vehicle, you may have to cross over to other road at times to avoid getting stuck.

Excellent location and property away from it all! The lakefront is extensive with wide open views. The dock is great. Bed is hard but bringing a mattress pad or additional comforter easily remedies this little drawback. The property is clean and well maintained. We look forward to our next visit in October.

The cabin was beautiful but the cleaning crew do not do a good job at cleaning after each visitor. Some maintenance need to be done to the cabin like fixing the fan above the kitchen, fixing the light under the microwave, one of the pull out couches is broken and multiple light bulbs were out. I would have felt safer if there was a bolt that I can lock from the inside when I was sleeping since every visitor uses the same key I felt a bit unsafe with the fact that there was not a latch or an inside lock I could use while me and my family were sleeping. One last thing is that on the paperwork that I received when I made my reservation it said that there were 2 queen size beds and 4 twin beds. When I arrived at the cabin there were 1 queen size bed, 4 twin size beds and 2 pull out couches. The Pioneer village was a great little place to go and visit. The springs are amazing.

The cabin was very nice and spacious. It had everything to cook light meals. So relaxing on the lake. We brought our small boat. The road into the cabin is very narrow and winding, but we made it through with a ram 3500 dually and a 17ft skiff. Word of caution if you are going to the cabin during hunting season maybe don't go hiking around the cabin. We could hear dogs running many of the days we were there. Others wise the lake and the cabin were very relaxing.

You, nature and nothing else! Cabin has all modern amenities (fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, kayak, life jackets,fire woods, fire pit). It comfortably sleeps 10 people, you just need to bring bedsheets, pillows blankets and towels, that's it! "Unfortunately" we were getting full internet (T-mobile), so that also kept kids occupied. Can't wait to go back there again, and again, and again!!!

This was our 1st visit to Lake Dorr cabin. We had so much fun that we are already planning our next visit. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and fun. It was a secluded, relaxing getaway. We felt like we had our own private lake and used the canoes morning, afternoon and night. I highly recommend Lake Dorr cabin.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
