Have camped here many times since 2006. It's a small beautiful and quiet campground with lots of space between campsites. Bathrooms are clean and not gross

One of my favorite camp spots.

Tollgate is in a beautiful setting, the trees, the river, proximity to trails and Mt Hood is all fantastic. The camp sites are large and far apart from each other. While close to the highway, for sites near the river the sound of rushing water drowns out the traffic noise. The maintenance of the campground is poor. Our site had not been picked-up, resulting in plastic bits, tissue paper, cigarette butts, and food wrappers spread around the ground and in fire-pit. Pit toilet was out of TP. Maybe campers are expected to clean-up after others and bring own TP? Unfortunate because it is a beautiful place.

Very lush green campground with a beautiful river nearby. I was worried it would be loud since it was near the highway but noise wasnt a problem at all.

Beautiful little campground. The host was very friendly and the bathrooms were so clean and well-stocked! Love that it is so close!

Beautiful campground, large/quiet sites near a trail - lots for kids to explore!

Absolute perfection! My favorite camp spot to date! This will be my go-to from now on.

Great little campground on the Zig Zag. I wouldn't stay here if I didn't have a waterfront spot bc the road noise would increase. The sound of the river almost drowned it out. Our spot was perfect, with an area for the kiddos to play on the beach. The camp host was attentive, and he spent time taking care of the facilities. As pits toilets go, these were the cleanest I've encountered. I saw him go in with a scrubber and make it sparkling clean the morning we were leaving. No fires allowed, but we brought our propane fire pit and it gave some ambiance. There is a trail out of the campground, take the one heading towards Government Camp bc the other one just leads to a road. If you have kiddos and/or a dog, check out Ratskeller in Government Camp. Great outside space, yummy food, full bar and an arcade upstairs. Super fun, relaxing getaway and lots to explore in the area.

Can be a bit noisy near the road, particularly site 14. But nice trees tables and fire rings.

Love that it is small campsite. Pretty luscious vegetation a little stream, great bike path. Great campsite. Will definitely stay again.

This is a great little campground on the way up to Mount Hood! We had trouble with our camp stove and loved how close it was to run into town for extra cold food, even though you still feel like youre out in the woods. The spots along the creak are lovely, and each campsite is spaced far enough apart to feel pretty private.

Beautiful river, spacious campsite, clean restrooms! River masked the highway noise.

We were only there for a night and it was a quick stop. It was nice to sleep close to the river as it blocked out the noise of the highway. It's a turn right off the highway, easy to find. It is a bit more cold underneath all of the tree shade and closer proximity to the water.

The camp was wonderful! Our site had a ton of space and a couple of flat spots that were perfect for tent and cover. The road noise from our spot, number 13, was a little loud but it does quiet down around 10 PM. The bathrooms were incredibly clean. Would love to stay here again, but would definitely want a spot by the river. It was great as well to be so close to stores, trails, and the mountain. Close to home - hard to beat!

The grounds were well kept. There's a beautiful river that runs through. It was perfect.

It's a nice basic campsite close to the stream, and day trips up to Mt Hood. We will likely come back.

All OK; more visits by park staff would be helpful (fill TP.etc); some info on trails in park would be nice.

Posted no campfires was posted in error, so we needlessly did not have a campfire, road noise all night

A quiet, relaxing, and well kept campground. Each campsite was amazing! I loved staying at the campground because it was situated near many hikes and recreational activities. I recommend hiking to mirror lake, swimming at trillium lake, and checking out ski bowl. My single complaint about this campground is that it is close to the highway which created some loud noise at night. I would recommend getting a campsite on the river if you think that will bother you. Overall, I absolutely loved this campground and can’t wait to come back.

Easy access, great spots with fire pits and picnic benches. Lots of tree coverage. A great place we will be returning to!

Campground was good. Nice creek running nearby. Vault toilets were clean and not stinky. Heard highway noise constantly until about 10:30pm. Got an upset stomach from the potable water spigot.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
