It was a nicely maintained camp. Good area. Sadly, no horses. We were happy to be able to use the camp, because we don't have any horses and the camp we first tried was full, so this was close to where we wanted to go. The only drawbacks were that there was just a lot of loud partying late Saturday and Sunday nights.The smoke in the area was pretty hard to handle, though of course, that was not the fault of the campsite, just the season, climate change and all that.

Beautiful camp! We were in site 4, which has a slight incline for sleeping in my trailer, but it was manageable. My only criticism of the actual camp is that there was no toilet paper in the outhouse for the first 24 hours we were there on a holiday weekend, and then sparsely provided for the 3 days after. A lot of the sites were non-horse campers but I get it--if horse people don't reserve the sites, they let non-horse campers use them. It was just disappointing to see such a cool camp under used by equestrians. I would definitely stay there again. I recommend sites 5 and up--that end of the camp is flatter and has more shade. But we reserved pretty late (about 2 weeks before the holiday weekend) and felt lucky to get a site at all. Also, the website still says some of the sites only have hitch rails--that is not true. They have installed new corrals into many of those hitch rail sites!

We've camped here a couple times this season with friends and really enjoyed it. Small campground, but peaceful. Have stayed at sites #5 and #7, both which are great, but overall site #7 is the best in my opinion. Only recommendation would be for the bathrooms to be checked and restocked more frequently. Doesn't seem to be any official camp host that I could tell, but someone that does drive by once a day. Our last visit the bathroom nearest our campsite was never restocked, but luckily I had brought my own tp, lol.

Love that campground! Had the reservation for months. No water! Pumps were broken. Made camping a bit harder to provide for horses.

Great location, kept up very well. We have camped here twice in the past month or so, both times had a wonderful experience. Special thank you to the camp host Dan who is incredibly friendly and accommodating, really appreciate it!

You will want mosquito repellent and to bring your own drinking water. Everything that comes out of the wells is brown with iron. Midsummer you could happily use a camp shower outdoors because they have toilets but no running water. There is no cell service so it is so quiet. Large camp spaces. Will happily go again.

The campground was quite and we had a lot of fun with the privacy and spacing between camps. Only 1 of the two toilets were functioning and had quite some odor early mornings. However, I believe there were regular cleanings at 9 am that helped.

Didn't see anyone here with a horse (us included), only stayed here as a stopover, but it looks like there are plenty of trails and a creek nearby. Could be a bit confusing to drive to in the dark, but Google Maps was accurate. Restrooms were vault toilets, clean enough. Weather was nice, didn't get bitten by bugs.

First time staying at a horse camp. This was nice and quiet with ample space between most sites. Bathroom was decent, the campground is near hiking trails. No on-site host but a ranger comes around to check in daily. My biggest complaint is that the water onsite is not drinkable. It smells horribly of iron and when we filled a jug, it had chunks of rust in it. Should be labeled as such since that presents a health hazard. Or fix the pipes. Campground shows its age and lack of upkeep (road is falling apart, etc.) but it's usable and we enjoyed ourselves. Watch out for horse dung around the place if you're on foot!

Spent four nights. Camp sites are spacious and nice, with plenty of room. Close to hiking trails, and river which was good for our dogs to goof around in. Short drive down to Sandy for the mountain bikers in our family to ride, as well as a short drive to various lakes around the area, where we did some paddle boarding. No potable water, so bring your own. The well provided water but was sulfur-ish, so not drinkable, but ok for dishes. Beautiful area. Was very quiet.

The water from the well pump is brown and not even suitable for the horses to drink. It would be great if that could be improved.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
