North Arm Campground, Government Camp, OR

North Arm Campground is located in the Zigzag Ranger District of the Mt. Hood National Forest (1 hr 23 min southeast of Gresham, OR) with an elevation of 3,367 feet. There are a total of 19 campsites. The campground is normally open from the end of May to mid September. 14 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 25 and 50 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $20.00 to $26.00.

One of the cleanest and most organized campgrounds Ive been to. Secluded from the other campgrounds in the area with only about a dozen spots. Perfect for SUP/kayaking right at the campground boat ramp and perfectly situated at the less windy end of the lake.

Nice and quiet, well maintained. Being located on the arm, it drowns out the noise from the other campgrounds. My new go to campground.

Clean, quiet, and BEAUTIFUL. We hiked and kayaked. The only negative was the mosquitos. We forgot bug spray and a citronella candle. Definitely recommend this campground.

It was beautiful. Campsites were well layed out, clean, and level. Bathrooms were clean and without any bad odors. Host was very friendly and the other campers followed the quiet times. Nice trip, even the weather cooperated! I highly recommend the north arm of Timmy lake!

Clean Bathrooms, friendly and helpful hosts, quiet evenings. Suggest a few more speed bumps. Many drivers have trouble adhering to the 5 mph speed limit and going over that churns up alot of dust. Great place to kayak or paddleboard - sheltered from the main lake.

The host was so kind and gave us great tips on different hikes. She also gave my kiddos junior ranger kits. They liked the activities and the little badge that came with it. The site was extremely clean you can tell it was swept up before our stay and so were the vault toilets were also kept extremely clean. We didn’t bring our bikes this time but there is a nice loop. You can walk to lake access and there is a dock. I would say the only down fall is the mosquitos but if you are prepared you should be ok. Our two nights was an amazing stay. This campsite at Timothy is more secluded and not busy at all.

Had a great time camping here. The sites are awesome with nice tree coverage but enough sun breaks to use the solar to keep my small camper charged. Since the sites are more on the smaller side, you tend to get mostly tent and small trailer campers -- so not a lot of noise from generators or the like. Super quiet. Stars are stunning over the lake at night and I love kayaking up into the arms of the lake. Lake water level did drop significantly over the weekend which was curious as it was a holiday. My husband was a bit frustrated by the fishing this year. Seemed like there were not many fish at this time of year.Hosts kept up with the bathrooms nicely...only one time when the bathroom by the dock was dicey...on Sunday night of the Labor Day holiday weekend when someone damaged the hand sanitizer dispenser and got slippery sanitizing gel all over the floor. AND the hosts still got to it pretty quickly and got it cleaned up. SO - great job by the hosts! I was frustrated by a lack of cell coverage but saw other folks able to connect in some areas of the park...so it must be my service particularly. Seemed easier for folks to be able to check in by phone than in the past...so that's nice in case of emergency. This little campground will always be one of my favorites.

Better information could be provided for visitors. This is not an RV friendly campground at all, yet the site says rvs are allowed. The road in is one lane only, gravel, and full of ruts.

great campsite and nice spot but our camp host was extremely rude, impatient, and unwelcoming. we were disappointed because we have never had a negative experience with a camp host and did not expect someone who chose to be there and have that job to bring such negativity to others.
