If you have small children or dogs, be warned: it's no "rippling brook"! The photos make this creek look calm and accessible, but (as of mid-August, and from Site 14) it's quite fast and dangerous. Site 14 (which actually doesn't appear to have direct river access per the map) has a (+/-) 10' drop from the tent site directly into some powerful rapids, and I couldn't help but think that if I, my toddler, or my dog had tumbled off the ledge, we'd have been swept away. If I hadn't been camping solo with a toddler and dog, I'd have rated this campground 5 stars. Honestly, it's beautiful, secluded, and has some incredible sites right on the river (Plus, it's close to Clackamas Riverside Trail 723, one of my favorites in OR for swimming holes!) But it was a stressful night for me, and I didn't see any place in the campground to access a calm spot on the river as pictured.

Pretty, well maintained campsite. Absolutely no wifi or phone reception, so be prepared. The nearby store has some free wifi for a short amount of time if you are desperate, but it is so beautiful you should forget about technology and chill out. My 6 yo absolutely loved the nearby access to the water. We were in heaven! The toilets were as clean as a vault toilet could be and there was always toilet paper.

We were robbed. My friend's backpack with his wallet and keys got stolen right out from under his hammock where he was sleeping around 3am! Creepy! Camp host was lovely and helpful and campground is beautiful and well maintained but not sure if I'll ever feel safe staying there again.

We had a great camping experience at Ripplebrook. We stayed at Site #1. It was so quiet, the only noise we heard was the water. It was so relaxing and great place to unwind with our family. The camp host was extremely knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful campground. Easy to get to. Very close to the river. Sites are decently spread out, so it makes for more private camping. Already planning a return visit.

We had a good time camping at that location. Site #1 is spacious and easily can feet 2 tents if needed. There is a constant noise due to close proximity of the river, but sound was relaxing(at least for us). Toilets were well maintained and without significant smell. Plenty of toilet paper, but no sanitizer. Couple of things Worth of mentioning. Table has cement legs and we were not able to move it. It is located close to the fire pit making it harder to sit around the fire comfortably. Also, table is located at the lower point of the site creating pools of water right under the table.

This campground is a gem! The sound of the river was so refreshing. Due to that water source being so close and us having a spot right on the river - we really didn’t miss not having water pumps provided at the campground. Most sites had the perfect amount of shade/sunshine streaming through the rich old growth forest. The sites were so far apart we felt like we were the only people there. The bathrooms were conveniently spaced and so were the trash receptacles. The only site we might not go to was #1 which was just a little too close to the road and vehicle noise. This wonderful area has so much to offer. We will definitely go back!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
