Only problem I have is I think we should have been evacuated on Monday afternoon when the man who checks everyone in drove by and didn't say anything and that night we were in a horrific windstorm and had to leave very quickly in the morning when a tree just missed our campsite, we packed up very quickly and left in our pajamas, I think all campsite should have been evacuated on Monday afternoon it was a horrible experience and we were afraid we were going to die from a tree hitting our tent

Super close to the river ! Great spot . Only down side is the smell of the bathroom at our site when the wind blew our way .

I had a site right next to the bathroom and the smell was awful. I would avoid that site. The sites are also very small

Small and not too private campsite. Best spots by the river.

It was an absolutely horrible place. It smelled terribly. There were some not so nice people there, and my daughter and I did not feel safe staying there, so we left. We tried to request a refund, but the system kept kicking us out.

Too close to the outhouse. The map is deceptive about the placement of the outhouse and it was literally right across from the campsite. The entire site smelled like sewage the entire time we were there.

Camp Sites are spread away from each other giving a real sense of communing with nature. Unlike Fort Stevens campground where your neighbor is on top of you. The Clackamas river flows in rapids below you where you can experience and view various rafters along the way. Clear river water is conducive for swimming or dipping in, as it is ice cold. Armstrong Campground is very peaceful and serene and definitely has that atmosphere of being a part of the wilderness even though the city of Estacada is only 15 minute drive away.

Site 11 was perfect, good separation from other sites, decent size for 2-3 tents, plenty of parking. Has one spot good for a hammock. Recommend you go up the hill on the path in site 2, there is good foresting up there.

Road sounds died down at night so it wasn’t too noisy to sleep. Easy , immediate river access and close hikes nearby. No firewood sold at site, so drive about 10 miles to load up from park store. Definitely would come again!

Nice small campground. Sites are large and not crowded together. Close to trails and Clackamas river. Onsite water and restrooms.

Thanks to all our Supporting Members

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
