What a great campground. Hosts were visible, bathrooms were modern clean and stocked. Every campsite had guests but we didn't feel crowded. Site 11 and 02 have to be the best spots. We were in 11 right on the river with fairly easy access down to it. TIP - Do not stay in site 12, this on is kind of in the middle of everyone else and literally right next to the bathroom so people will be walking around/through your camp constantly. There is a trail for the river bank that all guests can access no matter which site you're at. No cell service. It's about a 2 min drive to a small convince store and only about a 15 min drive into Granite Falls. Lots of hiking trails and things to do in this area.

There was no privacy. My neighbors on both sides, and I were able to look at each other the whole time because there was nothing in between our sites. The river was accessible but murky, so not good for going in. The campsite is right by the highway so cars were heard all night long. However, the bathrooms were great- flushing toilets with a sink and paper towels, and cleaned daily.

Easy access from Mountain Loop Highway, but you also get the highway noise; not too bad after dark, but at our site we were practically camping on the side of the road. Bathrooms are very clean and very well maintained, though, and access to the river is nice. The sites are big and level. Easy access to Heather Lake and Mount Pilchuck trailheads.

Great spots next to a nice river, quick drive from Seattle. A lot of highway noise in the middle of the night tho, esp large logging trucks. Get a spot closer to the water if you can.

Well maintained camp ground

Great host couple who provided excellent suggestions to my questions. I recommend hiking the Big Four/Ice Caves trail in the evening about 1.5 hours before sunset. Not crowded, bonus golden hour photos of mountain tops

The eastern half of Verlot Campgrounds shares a fence with a neighborhood. I don't know that the typical weekend experience is, but one of the houses hosted a large party with frequent yelling/screaming that lasted until 2 AM. We didn't want to risk 2 nights of poor sleep (and one of the house's bass systems kicked in at about 5pm the next day so we packed up and left saturday evening. Site 14 itself is fine, plenty of space. The river is pretty. There's access to a beach, but any hiking requires a drive to a trailhead. It's typical car camping at best, but being right next to a noise party neighborhood was pretty awful.

The best CG and fishing yet! Great hosts, too!

Very clean, quiet and disconnected from cell service. Bathrooms were a plus. Everyone bailed out due the rain when we went. Was an excellent time and no water pooled near the camp sites. Wood purchasable on-site. General store down the road for forgotten items. Plenty of trees for tarps and natural shade coverage. Pack out what you pack in. Too pretty to disturb :)

Sites are small and tight with one another, and not very well described on the site. Example: ours had one parking pad for two spots, despite saying it could fit a camper we barely fit in the spot and woke up to a late arrival parked less than two feet away from us.But it's a clean campground with easy access and close to a river.

Hosts were friendly. Site 13 had a gorgeous river view with its own beach. No place to really hammock, but otherwise probably the best spot in the campground. The bathrooms were very nice, and even had skylights at the top so you still felt in the forest. Such a nice experience, felt safe as a solo traveler, there were a male and female camp host.

My family stayed in spot 16. Beautiful view but zero privacy, spots 15 and 17 are right on your flanks. Highly recommend bringing ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise pollution, the road is just on the other side of the river. We went through a heavy rain day and site flooding because of the angle of the site but we got through it using :brought 2 pop ups and the tent, a shovel to redirect flooding, extra tarp. Camp host very nice and easy to find.

One of the nicest,cleanest and welcoming places we have stayed the summer. Camp hosts were outstanding and kept the place clean and orderly.

This site was a life saver. I'm assuming it was open due to the other reviews. but we were able to fit an 8 person and a 12 person tent at this site. It is by the highway but its also close to the sand beach. The water is super clear. You can see straight to the bottom. There's no cell reception. The hosts were great. the bathrooms were clean and you could smell someone cleaned them everyday. No showers though. The whole place was an overall great time. Maybe we were just resourceful but the site was just fine.

Great site on the the river, which was low, slow and warm. Site was clean with a level spot for tent camping, nice fire pit and fresh water spigot close by. Shade was dappled by the tent but I may bring an easy-up next time. No mosquitoes or pests when we went. The Heather Lake hike is nearby and is a personal favorite.

Clean and well maintained campground. Potable water and flush toilet bathrooms with sink. Good spot to base out of for exploring trails and sights along the Mountain Loop Highway. Many sights right on the river. Campground hosts very helpful and accommodating!

The camp host did an amazing job. The cleanest restroom in a National Forest that I've ever seen!

We love Verlot. Its near hiking. The bathrooms are clean with flush toilets and a sink. They even put in papertowels and hand soap this year. Its small and right on the river. 20 minutes outside of Granite Falls so easy access for times we need food or internet for work or school.

Loved how clean and well stocked the bathrooms were. It was nice having flushable toilets. A great place to camp with children.

I stayed in site 4 for 5 days, and 4 nights mid July. I'd like to start with the positive.The bathrooms were immaculate every day, and night, of the trip. Floors, counters, sink, walls were always clean, the garbage was never overfull and the soap was always filled. I've been all over the state, and I've never seen a more facility better maintained. The grounds near and around the campsites were groomed, free of litter and the work equipment was never left out. The hosts should be given a medal for their efforts, or at least a small parade! The beach access was free of litter, clearly marked, and other residents were respectful.The negative: Site 4 is almost unusable. I used a small tent trailer (~20 ft when opened) and it barely fit, into what was advertised as a 40 ft space. The table and fire ring were located on the backside of the camper and rendered completely unusable do to root overgrowth. Shade was almost nonexistent, and I saw no where to pitch a tent for 4 people, let alone room for cooking and seating, as the ground was sloped and uneven. The front side of the camper was almost unusable as there is only about a foot and a half of yard, which is taken up by bushes and trees. AVOID THIS SITE NUMBER.Overall, our stay was pleasant as the other family joining us, had room to accommodate us (Site 2) and the camp hosts were amazing.

Verlot is a fine little campground, and the Stillaguamish River is beautiful, offering fine swimming on a hot day. One downside is campsites are not well-bufffered from each other.
@DennyG12223030 · Camped on Jul 9, 2023 at Campsite #11
Verlot is our favorite campground and we return year after year. We like the privacy of sites 11 and 13 along with their proximity to the river. We are a bit distressed at the loss of trees throughout the campground, while we are sure that their removal is necessary for a variety of reasons. The hosts this year, 2023, were excellent in their attention to the campground. We truly enjoyed our stay

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
