Akers Campground, Jadwin, MO

Akers Campground in Dent county is located 1 hr 54 min west of Farmington, MO with an elevation of 906 feet. There are a total of 4 campsites which are all tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid April to the end of December. All sites are currently reservable. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. There is a fee of $65.00 per night.

There are two toilets for a campground that holds 180 people. There used to be 8 toilets and now there are two. Is this a joke? Also, don't plan on anyone putting up reserved signs. We reserved this campground 9 months ago and arrived to find people already camping there and one of them was very threatening. It took numerous phone calls and over an hour to get help.

huge amounts of wood for burning, ranger checked on us after a storm to make sure we were safe, dumpster for trash, outhouses, river just down a hill, was great.

Well maintained primitive tent camp site. Very close to canoe/kayak rental and put in for floating. Second time here and will come again.

We had a great relaxing stay. It was perfect for us. This spot isn't for everyone, it is basically primative group camping . The pit john was a little ripe, but it was clean and had plenty of TP.

The group sites are beautiful, right on the river, plenty of room, although a bit remote to get to. The major drawback was the vault toilets- they were poorly maintained, very dirty/smelly/buggy, and are reached by a small path that gets covered with spider webs at night. If the toilets and access to them were improved, it would be a group site at least as good as Round Spring.

We love this campground. All sites are group sites with direct access to the river. It’s secluded and private. There are no bathrooms with running water on site.
