The gal at the kiosk was absolutely wonderful! Handled everything and more before we needed things handled. Great job. Beautiful site. Nice shower rooms. Wish there was water at each site. We saw otters in the lake and the fish were jumping. If only it were closer to anywhere.

A nice quiet campground during the week. Good fishing from shore. The road in is very good.Bathrooms a bit rundown, lots of stains, trim pulling off the walls, etc. The tent loop is very pretty but almost impossible for tents. You have to pitch on the drivewaygrass is very sloped (its hard to level a tent) and the gravel space that should be for a tent is used for the fire pit, light pole and table.

The attendant at the gate was very helpful. The grounds were very well kept.

We had an awesome time, it is quiet, clean, and the Care Takers are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showers were great. We plan to stay again.

Great park attendants! Would like to see a few more trees along the edge of the campground where the water is. That would cut down on electricity being drawn so heavily because of A/Cs in the heat. The shower house needs new door locks on them as 2 of the 4 wont lock at all. Would also like to see less lights left on during the night. It can be very bright in a camper from neighboring sites when they have everything lit up all night long. Great campsite though overall! I will be back.

We always have an amazing experience when we stay at Ruark West. Dale and his wife do an excellent job and are so kind. I heard they plan on closing campground all next year to move to 50amp. While Im excited about that, I wish they could start in October and any have to close half of it. That is very sad to so many people who love to visit there.

My favorite location at Stockton Lake! Always a great experience!

Not a lot of shade on the waterfront sites, but I prefer to be by the water. A pop up or tarp for shade would be recommended if you get a water front site. The amenities are quite dated (showers/bathrooms), but they do work fine, just in serious need of a facelift.

Always love the campground but dogs run everywhere. No one puts them on leashes. My grandson spent the weekend in the camper due to dogs coming to our site. Was told they don't enforce leash law.

Had a great time and enjoyed the site. The playground is starting to show wear and could use some TLC. Needed some minor repairs to the restrooms & shower units but overall it was great.

Nice restrooms but showers need some work but not extremely bad. If you want to go out for breakfast the Backwoods in Greenfield has good food and reasonable prices. It also has good service.

Had a hot weekend at Ruark Bluff West. Since the corp thinned out the trees not nearly enough shade on some of the campsites. Lake water was refreshing.

I love this place. Dale and his wife are the sweetest people ever. It's peaceful and quite. Access to the water is very good. And get to enjoy nature at its fullest. We have been going here for 2 years now.

We have been camping at Ruark Bluff West for years, this trip left us thinking twice about coming back. The campers next to us were heavy drinkers, loud, offensive language and ruined the peace and serenity that we usually experience there. We could not even allow our grandchildren to swim because of their constant offensive language they were using with every sentences, while they hung out in the water by our boat and their boat. Because of this we left a day early. We wish there was some way to control the limit of alcohol so they don't get so intoxicated that their language gets louder and more offensive. It is to bad that a section can not be set aside for drinkers and partiers. Also the dump station was closed down so we had to go to a different camp ground to dump, this was just a slight inconvenience we can live with because we understand things like this can happen.

We were in site 7 for most of our visit. It was shady and waterfront - very nice and quiet! Stockton is one of our favorite lakes. We like it because it is cleaner than Lake of the Ozarks and Tablerock, and it's more rural and less visited. This is not the place for partiers - go to those other lakes mentioned - Lol! Stockton is laid back and serene. Beautiful.

First impressions were as follows, absolutely no shade, and be careful where you step in the grass or you’ll be stepping in dog shit. Why people don’t pick up after their dogs should be allowed to have them! We went west for vacation and almost all the camp sites had doggy bags and trash cans scattered around the campgrounds. But anyway without shade it’s impossible to keep it cool on hot days. The cove is a great place to park you boats if they would at least cut a path to get to the bank. The weeds were 3’ tall with little to no path other than where people have stomped the weeds down. And don’t forget there is no water hookup’s so don’t forget to fill your tanks. Other than that I think the park is a nice place where I see lots of shaded spots but just not where we stayed. When looking at the site online it looked like there would be some shade. They also have a shower house and I was told it was nice and clean but we didn’t use them. A lot of nice places at this park just make sure you pick one.

Our spot has a gravel beach area and we floated in tubes right there. Loved our spot. Close to drinking water. No shade at this space though.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
