Viola Campground, Shell Knob, MO

Viola Campground in Barry county is located 1 hr 16 min northeast of Rogers, AR with an elevation of 947 feet. There are a total of 51 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to mid September. 50 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 84 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 32 sites have electric and water hookups. 5 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $16.00 to $28.00.

Despite the rain and storms, we had a good time. Our only complaint was the fact that there was no attendant in the booth to check in and out with. The park ranger had to check us in on our last full day of the stay and he just stopped to ask a question about another camper. We prepaid for our campsite but got the impression that other campers were staying for free because no attendant was checking campsites. The vault toilet in our overflow area was unkept and not usable. We also saw foreigners sinking a small garbage sack in the lake. This was of great concern to us as United State Citizens'. We love Tablerock Lake but this was out of the norm us. We hope our tax dollars can fix this problem.

We've stayed at Viola Camp Grounds for the past several years and we enjoy it much as this is a low key camp ground and people don't get rowdy.

There's a good set of bathrooms/showers and a very bad pit toilet bathroom. The pit toilets were absolutely covered with black flies and I couldn't use them. Other than that the campsite was great.

Loved the amenities, everything was clean, convenient and our younger kids loved it. Great swimming area and the campsites are so nice.

Level site 33 - short site would not try with a TT over 22 foot. We have camped at corps parks for many years cleanest bathrooms and showers

Viola is a small park on the lake. Nice beach and boat ramp. Due to lots of trees that make the park shady it is hard for big rigs to get in sites.

I have been a yearly visitor at the Viola campground for almost a decade.I am very happy with this campground. It is clean, neat, orderly and safe.The stationed supervisors are very friendly and helpful.Thank you for maintaining a great campground.Concern: The back shower in the shower house has a drain issue. I had water and soap suds rolling out the door frame and down the side walk.

It was nice having clean restrooms and showers! Campground hosts were the best! Very respectful and polite! Great improvement from previous year! We love Viola Campground, only wished the Marina still rented nightly slips.

The campsite was beautiful. We had views of the water. Grandson enjoyed swimming.We were close to a town to do laundry.

Viola is an awesome camp ground we stayed in spot 18. It has a beautiful view of the lake. The only bad thing is the rest rooms they are an old out house the need to be redone and put in some showers on this side this camp ground is the only one that has one set of showers

Needs to be cleaned up to look like Campbells point seems like the corp takes a lot better care of that place than viola

There was a bit of an issue at check-in as someone had parked their truck in our slot. The owner was down there in mins to find the owner and get us in our slot. The entry to the slips for the camper is a tiny bit tight and awkward, but not too bad. The campground was a little crazy when we got there due to a terrible storm they had the night before. But the owners worked very hard at cleaning and clearing up the area. The campgrounds were wonderful. It was quite and clean, it had a beautiful view of the water, an easy walk away to the swimming beach and just across from the boat docks. I also really enjoyed that our site had space in between our neighbors, so it gave us a more natural setting. Plenty of room for our camper and the kids tent, as well as, plenty of shade for us and the dogs. Had a wonderful conversation with the owner a couple times, they were very helpful with questions we had as well as finding some firewood. Truly a delightful stay and can't wait to return!

#35. Blacktop. Hot in summer but in a shaded area. This area has surrounding sites which would work great for a group. Lake view. Had to level but not much. Great beach area at this park.

We had one of the best camp host couples we have ever had. They were so congenial and he kept the campsites clean as soon as a camper left and if necessary right before a new camper came in. We hope they continue at Viola Campground.

We always enjoy staying at Viola. It’s a beautiful campground and one of our favorites. It has a nice marina, restaurant, swimming area and boat launch. We like the sites that have electric and water. One side of the park does not have both and that is the only downfall.
