The campground is very well maintained. Fairly level sites, well shaded. While you are close to your neighbors, the way the sites are shaped, you still have a great deal of privacy. The bath rooms are very clean, and spacious. While there are no showers most people are already aware of that. The staff, and the campground hosts are wonderful. Very helpful, and very friendly. The best part of my trip was staying in schoodic.

Really nice camp grounds. Its quiet and sites are sufficiently far from each other. Washrooms are clean and well equipped. Made our trip very pleasant

Great location away from crowds and huge sites with privacy. Well maintained grounds and wonderful staffs. Beautiful surroundings.Down side is only one dump station for early 10am check out. Some areas has almost no cell connection.Highly recommend and will come back!

We have visited the Schoodic Peninsula several times in the past but had never camped at Schoodic Woods. The campground is very well maintained and the staff is very helpful, but I think most people stay here for the location. Obviously, on the beautiful Schoodic Peninsula. But if you drive to the top of the campground you will find the trailhead for the Buck Cove Mountain trail. We thought this was a fantastic hike... 5+ miles to the top of Buck Cove Mt and back. There are a few views of the water, but the myriad of mosses, lichens, evergreens and more were absolutely stunning. This was on October 7th... no bugs at all, and the blueberry bushes foliage had turned red. Just a totally enjoyable hike.

We stayed at the lovely Group Campsite. The area is private, the bathroom is close and clean and there is a great covered pavilion.

The camp sites were very nice and relatively private for a National Park. The major drawback to the facility is that it does not have water at individual sites and it does not have showers. Adding showers would be a major improvement!!!

Very nice campgroung

My pull through site was LONG, level, and private. The park and the whole of the Shodic peninsula was a joy to experience. We drove to Desert Island, and parked at the visitor center. The local trolley buses take you wherever you need to go.

Amazing, beautiful campgrounds with newly built toilet accommodations. Water and electric hookups, with our own picnic table. Helpful and very friendly volunteer staff assisting with any information requests/recommendations. The quiet of nature is almost deafening here and the stars are absolutely glorious. Definitely plan to return for more days next year. Wonderful!Also, just past the campgrounds further down the road is Schoodic point with the most amazing views. One way roads with 2 lanes for several miles here-making it safer for both bikers and pedestrians to share the road and take in the views- many lookout points.

We loved camping in this part of Acadia National Park. It was so quiet and serene! Beautiful campsites, nicely separated with lots of trees between. Squeaky clean restrooms, though having showers would have been nice. We biked the Schoodic Loop and did some hiking. Schoodic Point is amazing! The little towns of Winter Harbor and Birch Harbor are close and have some good restaurants. The drive to Mt. Desert is long, about an hour, and this section of the park has a lot more people. We biked the carriage roads (one of our top experiences), saw the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain (not a top experience), and drove the park loop road (go early in the morning for less traffic). Skip the popover experience at Jordan Pond, it's overhyped. We waited forever and had terrible service. Skip Bar Harbor unless you like crowds and tourist shops.

Schoodic had very large pull through sites and was very clean. Staff was friendly at check in and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Schoodic Woods was probably the cleanest and well maintained sites we have ever been to and we have visited a lot of campgrounds. It was close to so many great things like Bar Harbor and all the Acadia parks and trails. Theres a ton to do (or not do) near the campground itself but theres so much to explore in the area. Such a beautiful spot !

We camp alot, and Schoodic was one of the most beautiful campsites we have been in! Highly recommended.

The campsites were beautiful. The bathrooms spotless. The location is worth a million dollars. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Though Schoodic Peninsula is small, taking time to hike the well kept trails, and bike paths is everything. It's a gem to slowdown and enjoy a relaxing speed in a beautiful place. Attended an evening program at the amphitheater. Nicely done and learned a great deal about the area. It's a quiet place still within reach of the main park in Bar Harbor to enjoy all aspects of Acadia National Park. I will definitely return. I hope it remains the quiet side of Acadia. On a last note the clear night sky is something everyone should see. Thanks for making my summer of camping the best.

Best campground weve ever been to. The reservation site needs work. Every site I tried to book popped up a warning that it was a handicap accessible site. Turned out every site said that so we missed out on some time there

Great park - away from all the tourist stuff of Bar Harbor.Staff was excellent, Bathrooms clean, easy access sites! Unbelievable night sky for stars!

Mid-September, the campground is quiet. B Loop seems a better option for privacy and distance to your neighbor. This loop, the sites are all pull-through with a good deal of visual privacy. We were in B-17 and the pad was relativity level. Short distance to washroom, but too far for the reported campground Wi-Fi. While the restrooms were clean, they do not have a shower. Staff is spare with limited hours at registration. There are hiking and bike trails here on the mainland portion of Acadia National Park. The Island Express is also available for hikes and sites throughout Mount Desert Island. We found the free shuttle service to be on time and accommodating.

Another lovely, quiet two weeks at Schoodic. The campsites are quite private, and the facilities are immaculate. For the first time we took the ferry from Winter Harbor into Bar Harbor. The ferry ride was great, with the captain and deckhand providing interesting information about the area, as well as pointing out the seals, porpoises, bald eagles, and loons we passed by. It's also a really nice way to spend a little time in Bar Harbor without the hassle of parking. Highly recommended!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
