Great area away from bigger crowds

I had a great time here, even though I only stayed one night. Why? It was quiet! The walk-in only sites mean people who can't/won't leave there car for more than a few minutes, meaning most of the annoying and loud people, are filtered out. While the mosquitos weren't too bad when I went, I imagine it could get quite buggy here, since there's a bit more vegetation than, say, Blackwoods, so be prepared for that.One pleasant surprise was how flat it was. I was expecting to have to lug my gear uphill for some reason, but actually lugging from my car to my site was in the end quite easy, so don't be put off by the walk-in part. It just might mean multiple trips to/from the car. But you are in a national park, so time to walk and hike :)

Quiet. Scenic. Clean. Private sites. BEAUTIFUL. We loved every minute.

I really enjoyed speaking with staff, very helpful. I bought a trail map for under $5. I liked Seawall although I have two suggestions. 1. Don't import small sharp rocks to dump on the tent pad. 2. Create some opportunity for people to book online reservations on site because there's no wifi and without it no one can book additional nights. I bought a Rachel Carson book in the ranger station.

Nice site, mostly level, not much privacy but overall a great campground

Ideal campground, not too much traffic, close to the entrance by foot. The loop isn't a big one which makes it really quiet

Wonderful camping at Seawall : our site had lots of vegetation separating us from both the neighboring sites and the road but was close to the bathrooms, water spout and secured garbage can. It is amazing that you have a shuttle service around the island. Such a great idea for saving money and helping reduce our impact on the environment. We l-o-v-e-d our hikes at Ship Harbor and Beech Mountain; the trails vers diverse and the scenery in the forest and at view points was very rewarding. Everything was very clean and the staff was very helpful :) The only thing we would have enjoyed even more is a spot to wash our dishes at and showers. We will definitely be coming back.

Very clean and well maintained. Nice wooded campsites. Easy to find.

Lovely campground, hosts were friendly, and all facilities in working order, although they are minimal (no showers + bring your own hand soap). Sites are close together, so not every spot has privacy, but quiet hours were respected. My favorite part was walking across the road to the Seawall picnic area to see the water.

It is mystifying why, although you have a well appointed toilet block, there are no showers or dish washing facilities. The dish washing facilities are particularly awful. Why do you tell campers to wash their dishes at the tent site but then bring the dirty water back to the block for disposal? This is nuts. What are they supposed to bring it back in at a walk-in campsite? How many backpackers do you know carry a washing bowl with them? Who thought out this plan?

Love Seawall campground. We have been camping here for years. There are many, many hiking trails all overAcadia National Park. I would recommend purchasing the book "Hiking Acadia National Park" by Dolores Kong and Dan Ring - an excellent guide to hikes unknown to many, helpful especially if you're looking for less crowded hiking trails. The campground is peaceful and walking distance to the ocean. The online reservation system is a bit confusing.

Clean and well organized campground. It is a good distance from attractions but location is also nestled near the south eastern coast which is scenic Would definitely recommend

We tent-camped at Seawall and the sites were nice! Not too close together, clean (mostly -- we did pick some small trash out of the woods), it wasn't RV City, and it was quiet. I was impressed with the sieve by the bathrooms where you could dump wash water (to keep food particles from attracting raccoons) -- wish they did that in all state parks and campgrounds! Only thing, I wish there were showers in the campground. But it was beautiful and we enjoyed our time in Acadia!

The lack of showers in the parks is disappointing. The sites are nice. The ocean waves can be heard, and its quite soothing. The restrooms were very clean.

My brother and I just visited Acadia National Park recently it was really cool. Had a great week staying at Seawall. Get A loop site if you can.

Wonderful location. Campsites feel decently private while still having easy access to bathrooms and other amenities. Being able to walk to the picnic area is wonderful. Looking forward to returning.

Seawall Campground was great if you like a quieter camping spot. Bathrooms were kept clean and the sites were spaced well.

Nice campsite, though it was a bit crowded. Bathrooms were really clean and well supplied, but no showers.

@KateMAABB27DBE · Camped on Aug 1, 2024 at Campsite #B17
This campsite was great! Only downside is the overall driving time from Seawall Campground to many of the main hikes/activities at Acadia, but we valued the quietude of this campground a lot (which we've heard you don't get as much of at Blackwoods). We were there in August and found that by the time the sun set each night, the air was pretty misty (presumably from the nearby ocean), which made campfires just a little bit harder to get going because of the general dampness.

Best campsite we stayed in our whole trip to Acadia. Cannot recommend it enough. Perfect mix of accessibility/ease and privacy. If I could do it all over and stay here our whole trip, I would.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
