The site was very nice and the views were great. Almost no bugs beyond a few flies and bees. The only reason this isn't a five star review is the camp host. He was constantly riding his loud gas scooter through camp and harassed one of the other renters.

Very clean campground with excellent views. We were at #6, and it was a nice spot. It's a bit sloped, but there are a couple of level spots for a tent, and it's a spacious spot. Right across the way, near #15 is a great viewpoint, but you can see the sunrise perfectly well from #6 too. The only downside is that it's right by the dumpster and the bathrooms. We didn't notice a smell, but that might be an issue in warmer weather.

Great place to camp at. Trees all over so you get good shade at each site. Quiet area.

We stayed in campsite 6, and had a perfect, open view, to enjoy the peak of the Persid Meteor showers. We will definitely return.

It was a lovely time and it didn't get too cold at night. We weren't that far from the vault toilets and it was a quiet campground. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in late June for a quick Birthday getaway. It was perfect. Reserved spot 14 online. There arent a lot of pictures online so I was hesitant, but it ended up being a great spot. Spot 14 is on a mountain side with a bit of a slope so it wouldnt be the best spot if you have small kids. It is very close to the bathrooms, which was a good thing and a bad thing. People slam the metal doors when going in and out, and that was loud, but not a big deal. The ranger came by frequently and cleaned them so they were extremely clean and my opinion (for an outhouse) and never smelled. We had a lot of space to put all our stuff and spread out. We have a 14x10 tent and it fit tucked under some pines. Again, it was on a bit of a slope but didnt bother me at all. The campground itself isnt that big, which is nice because theres not a ton of traffic coming through. Theres a nice walking/mountain biking trail that cuts through the campsite that leads you down to McGill campground or you can take it up and have some really good scenic views. There is no water at this campground so pack plenty for drinking and washing. I only saw one dumpster on site but when we left and emptied our trash it wasnt full. I would recommend this campsite. We had a blast and it was very relaxing. Stars were amazing at night and the views during the day were incredible. Plenty of flora, streams and interesting creatures to take pictures of. We had amazing cell service (Verizon) and were able to stream music and video chat with the family back home. Best of both worlds.

Overall ok. Site 15 will get a lot of sap on the car and downwind from bathroom.

Campsite was very well maintained. However, the restroom buildings had a lot of erosion of the dirt, so there was quite a big step up to the concrete pad. Made it difficult.

Campground is beautiful and spacious. Needs a host or Ranger, possibly some coyote patrol. The views are magnificent!See.you next year!

So many pine treesI A very quiet campground with nice views and lovely trees everywhere. Actually, the only sound I heard was the wind through the trees. Amazing. A place could be so close to Highway five and LA yet is so quiet and under utilized it is very high elevation, and surprisingly chilly at night.

I love this campground, and I enjoy the nearby hiking trails. However, the one trash bin was completely full, and campers had to pile all their trash outside of the trash bin. That creates a hazard for campers because that can attract animals. Also, the condition of the vault toilets are unacceptable. We were there for three days, and the toilets were never cleaned. A camp host came through several times a day. He had the time to collect money for extra cars, but never had time to deal with the trash or toilets. There should be solutions for these issues, and the managers need to find the solutions to fix these issues.

Very loud neighboring campers were there to party. Toilets were nasty. Actual site was nice and the area was stunning. Fantastic hiking. Everything outside the campground was spectacular.

Beautiful campground. I was on campsite 15 which has a beautiful view from the whole site. Bathrooms were a little dirty but nothing too horrible. Will definitely be coming back again. If you're into mountain biking there is a trail directly through the campground with many trails nearby

Very high! Poor camp maintenance. Trash bins overflowing and toilets the worst smell ever!!Good hiking trail access.
@AlanS4569109 · Camped on Jul 10, 2023 at Campsite #16
The only negative experience we had was the fact that the trash had not been collected and there was no place to dispose of trash. Trash was finally picked up right as we were leaving.

Was up at Mt. Pinos Campground for 3 nights June 20-23 and loved it. The clean air and pine trees were magical. I recommend very highly. It was a bit chilly at night but totally worth it. I mountain biked and hiked to my heart was content.

Mount Pinos Campground is our favorite! There are lots of great sites with unobstructed views. The sites are pretty spread out, so you don't overhear other campers. It's overall incredibly peaceful. I recommend this campground to all of my friends!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
