We stayed at Site 4 and Site 5 and truly enjoyed both sites. Very peaceful to watch the sun set over the lake from our campsite. Nice, quiet campground.

Eureka has become one of our favorite campgrounds! Almost all of the sites are waterfront, the facilities are clean, and the camp hosts are warm and welcoming. This campground is also very close to Pattys Settlement, so its a great weekend getaway for the whole family!

This is a lovely campground. Some of the sites are really difficult to back in to - the road is one way which means one lane therefore is narrow with a drop off on the driver side which makes it tricky to back in to several of the sites. It is very quiet here. Bathhouse is older but it works. Near 2 boat ramps one having a courtesy dock which is handy. Would stay again.

The camp hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating .Even helped us move our picnic table. Great park with very clean shower house. The only issue is the asphalt driveways have a pretty high drop from continuous resurfacing on top of old asphalt.

I spent another relaxing trip at Eureka. The Hosts (Suzanne & Arnold) are terrific. Theyre efficient, professional, and a joy to interact with. Due to their hospitality, its one of the reasons that Ive returned to Eureka several times over the last few years. I hope Eureka stays open to the end of October next year so I can enjoy the fall colors near the Lake. So quiet and peaceful.

Site #15. Electric and water are 75 - 80 ft. from the back of the site, if you back in. Mud/dirt is located where asphalt meets gravel. There is a gravel pile 200 ft. up the camp road - why it's not being utilized is beyond me. Due recent flooding, driftwood and trash were everywhere. Towing a 40 ft. 5th wheel - to get to dump station you have to turn left, at the hosts' guard shack (heading back into Eureka). When done, the turn is too sharp to make the U-turn to exit the area. Now (after dumping) you have to either drive thru the campground again or turn around in the parking area at the bottom of the hill to the right of the campground entrance. Those were the cons. I know, due to budget cuts in Army Corps of Engineers (C.O.E.), money isn't there to readily pay for needed maintenance as soon as the need arises. I assume it will get better in a few years to where we can get back to the "good ole days" of well-maintained campgrounds. All of that being said - Eureka is a small, quaint, and gorgeous campground. The views of the lake are perfect. The bath/shower house is nice. Wildlife is everywhere - not in a bad way. The hosts were very friendly - as well as all campers we talked to. It's also a short drive to Patti's or many other places - if the need for supplies arises. Yes, there are some dead fish in the water and on the banks - and yes it does kinda smell, at times - but that's the way it's always been. Lake Barkley and Kentucky lake are lakes that get fished out of - and when a dam is involved, some fish are going to die - and dead fish end up in the water and on the banks. I'm 61 years old and have been swimming (and fishing) in the twin lakes all my life. The reservation process was pretty straight forward and the info, on each site, was fairly accurate. The nightly rates are not too bad. All-in-all it was a nice campground and we look forward to coming back when we can.

Had site 17. Morning and afternoon shade with mid day sun. Roads are narrow but manageable. Host are great. Campground very clean and well taken care off. Bathroom and shower house showing its age but clean.

We enjoyed our stay at Eureka - 3 nights, 4 days. Its a quiet campground with beautiful sunsets over Lake Barkley. Everything was perfect, even in intense heat, except the 30amp electrical connection. Once we realized there was a problem with it, we swapped to 50amp, and all was well.
@DavidN9135851 · Camped on Jun 21, 2024 at Campsite #5
Perfect in every way. The view from our spot was amazing. E5. We never used the restrooms or shower house so I can't rate those.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
