Just stayed for one night in the middle of the week. I was the only one in the loop. It was relaxing.

This particular weekend was hotter than the surface of the sun. The camp ground was basically full, there were a ton of boats on the water in the nearby cove. But site was clean and level, the water and electric worked fine, the bath houses were clean. We stayed two nights.

I love Mound Valley and camp there every year for my birthday week with a large group of my friends and family. The camp hosts have always been helpful and friendly. The previous 10 years we have stayed in the cul-de sac with sites 52-56. This year we stayed in sites 76-85. We had issues with the electricity in sites 79-81. The breaker is not large enough to run all three sites when the temperature is high. The breakers kept tripping. The hosts had to come out and turn them back on about every 45 minutes. We had dogs and napping kids in the campers which could have been deadly had we not been right at the campground the whole time and realized the power had went out. Hopefully they get the issue fixed before we return. If not we may be forced to find somewhere else to go.

Always a great time here. Opening day the RR in first loop had no TP and RR not cleaned, but rest of week they were regularly serviced.

I hope to come back when leaves are on the trees. I visited in late March, and enjoyed the campground.

Great trail to water. Difficult to level 20 ft. camper due to slope of driveway.

Very clean and well maintained. Phone service was good. I was even able to stream on my television. Beautiful reservoir.

For it being a federal lake they need to do a lot of work to the campsites and shower houses. Ive stayed at a lot of federal lakes and by far the worst one. The bathrooms and showers didnt even have locks on the stalls. Showers are push bottom activated so they only last about 15 seconds unless you keep pushing the button. Campsites would be nice if they had 50amp on them all instead of just a handful. Not every campuses has water hookups. You have to run a long hose to a central location. Some of the sites trees are in the way so it makes it impossible to put out your awning.

Love going to Big Hill Lake. Tony, camp host is a nice guy and makes you feel welcomed. Bathrooms kept clean and well stocked with toilet paper. Nice people that respect each other's space. Lots of good and no complaints...will continue to be my primary camping lake. Thanks

MOUND VALLEY IS EXCELLENT. From the day we drove in the sites were picked up and clean, the lake is awesome for kayaking and the wooded areas and lots awesome. The host was also very welcoming and engaged daily. The one concern is of dead trees in the Campground hoping it would not storm and fall on our Rig.

Camp host was so helpful and on top of things. Site was clean and well kept. Beautiful park!

Our campt host Tony was very helpful. The sites were nicely spaced and the pads were fairly level. Several really nice ones with walkdowns to the lake. We booked off internet never being there and was very pleased with our choice. We will be returning to Mound Valley. Also, the beach is the cleanest, largest and sandiest one yet.

This was our second time there but we love the area. The only thing I can think of on the minus was for 6 days we shared the spot with bees. But that is nature. I wasn't aware that bees love beer. The little fella got into the can and when I took a drink. .... yep he stung me on the inside of my lip.

All around the campground is stunning very clean the person at the front was super nice and even joked around with us. It would have been 5 stars but the spot we stayed in seemed kinda small. Not much wiggle room with our hybrid. (the power hookup was super close to one of the beds we couldn't even let it down and the front of the pad if we moved it moreover we would have been stepping out into a downward hill). I tripped and skinned up my leg pretty good on the pad from a crack it had. I should also add that some of the sites like ours have a semi steep pad from the road. The bathroom was a tad bit dated. The door got stuck going in and out of the bathroom. But other than that it was a great spot super shaded and peaceful. The beach oh my it was super nice it has built-in umbrellas!!! We will for sure be back to camp here again! Also we have Verizon cell service it got2-3 bars and we have T-Mobile wifi it worked great!

Lovely area. Bathrooms are kept clean. The park ranger and staff patrol regularly, especially on the weekends. Beautiful lake and nice trails. Thanks for this gift to Kansans.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
