I came here sight unseen and not knowing the terrain or elevation. The pictures on the web makes it look like the terrain is level. I got to the site I picked from the web only to find out that the incline for my rig was not going to work. I called Recreation.gov to see if I could get another site. They provided another sight for me but for only 3 days not 6. I said I would take it. I went to that site and it was not going to work. I got a call from the Corp. of Engineers office, and they said there is a site on the east side that is level and I could stay there for 3 days. I went over there, and it was much better. I was almost all set up, when the park ranger came over and told me about a site at the Dam Site Park and it would be available for the 6 days that I had originally planned. I went over there, got set up, and the park ranger, Bradley, came over to make sure I was happy and was going to stay. Bradley was the nicest park ranger I have met. I appreciated his concern. I found that the Dam Site Park was just beautiful. I had a great few of the reservoir and it was so peaceful. There was a lot of people fishing. It is great for taking long walks. I rode my bike all around the different parks in the area. I recommend this place. The Recreation.gov and the Corp. of Engineers (Taylor) were so kind and understanding of my needs. God bless them all for being there to help a single woman traveling by herself.

LOVE our time at John Redmond!

Happy to get a spot for Labor Day weekend! The site was nice, however we were missing a picnic table. After the place cleared out on Monday we noticed a site at the other end had two (rude!!). Still I’d have rated higher if not for the multiple power outages throughout Saturday afternoon & evening. Too bad maintenance wasn’t on call on a busy holiday weekend. A couple of bigger rigs left out of frustration and that seemed to help, but that’s a shame.

Nice small campsite with covered table. Shower house is gross. Use Riverside East & West shower houses.

Easy pull through site. A little small and at a high traffic area. Shower house is gross. Use Riverside East & West shower houses.

Nice site. Easy to get to. Set up well for wheelchair & walker use. Fire pit is surrounded by concrete patio. Shower house is gross. Use Riverside East & West shower houses.

Nice site with covered table. Pull Through parking. Only bad thing is that it is close to where people drive by. Shower house is gross. Go to the River Side East and West to use their shower houses.

Nice site. Better for tent than camper. Kind of in a whole and difficult to get camper level. Covered table. Shower house is gross. Hasn't changed since I was a kid. Use Riverside East & West shower houses.

Ranger was very helpful in guiding us to camp site. Due to high water, we were the only RV in the park. New Strawn and Burlington were great places to visit/eat. Hope to return in the future.

New to camping. Had a fabulous experience at John Redmond Reservoir. Eugene.Goff@usace.army.mil was EXTREMELY helpful and accommodating.. Park Rangers were friendly and professional. Spent two weekends there! If it was not end of season… We would have booked two more weekends!

Will be camping there again

We were in spot 13. The only issue we had was our tent flooded from the rain. We also did not have a firepit. At least it only rained the first night we were there. This would be the only reason I would not recommend spot 13 for tent camping. Or at least dont put your tent directly under the trees for the shade. We moved the tent the next day and dried out just fine. We went fishing on the riverside of the dam and we went over to coffee county lake and had good luck there too.

There was one small problem with our stay. We thought we were going to be back in the second camp ground further from the damn. We booked #12. That site was close to the damn and the lake. The site was great, but it was not the site we thought we were going to get.

Quiet campground. Went to take a shower at the bath house which was gross. Drove to riverside east to use theirs. Two were locked and NO hot water. Usually a good place to go. Not this time.

Nice and quiet. Bathroom (near campsite 2) was very clean and well stocked. Brad (Park Ranger) is a great guy. Lots of wildlife to view. Also, the town of Burlington is only about 3 miles away with a handy grocery store and everything else you may need.

Wish the would enforce the dogs and lease. I had the neighbors dog twice charge me growling and barking at me in my site. Barking dogs in campgrounds are not ideal.

We had a great time. The park was quiet the park ranger was really nice. This was our first time to camp at John Redmond and we actually came back this weekend and camped over at riverside East. We will definitely be back. I lobe the quiet, the trees, the feeling of actually being away from it all.

The site was clean and shady. The park warden was very helpful with our requests for extra supplies for the privy and shelter house. We love this spot!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
