I can't think of anything, just a beautiful wooded area and friendly people.

We always look forward with anticipation to our visit to Lake Red Rock, and this year was no exception. We love the beauty of the lake, the relaxing camping areas, and the serenity of the lake. We also appreciate the helpful and courteous service of the Visitor Center staff and the campground volunteers. We greatly enjoyed the Night Time Creatures hike with Ranger Tracy. She did a wonderful job, not only with the informative hike, but with the advance preparation. She is truly dedicated and a credit to her profession. Thanks to all for another wonderful family vacation.

There are no sites with full hookups in Wallashuck campground and the dump station is not the most user friendliest. There needs to be another dump station built. It could also use a few more fresh water hydrants around the campground making it more convenient to fill your fresh water tank if you need to. A lot of the sites could use more gravel in them, pea gravel would be nice, much better than the 1" clean that covers the sites. The electricity needs to be upgraded desperately! Not to many 50 amp sites and some issues with electric at some sites! Wallashuck campground is screaming for attention and upgrades!! Oh yeah, it would be REALLY NICE if the shower houses could be air conditioned too!

Let me start by saying the park rangers were great and very accommodating, but one individual that takes care of the restrooms and grounds was the rudest man we have ever met, and we don't think you should have people like that representing Wallashuck. For this reason, we will not be back.

We really enjoyed it. Very nice, very well kept. Lots of shades. You won't be disappointed. Coming back on Labor day.

We love camping at Wallashuck Recreation Area, it's always well taken care of and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. We are close to Pella, IA. which is a very nice town.

Plenty of room between camping spots. Nice shade. The only thing that needs addressed is the size of the shower areas. The showers were very small to maneuver around and keep your change of clothes dry. It would be hard to take young children to take showers too. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. The campground was clean. Our site was reserved ahead of time online but there was no ticket/paper saying it was reserved when we arrived. In other campgrounds we always had a paper in our spot saying it was reserved and the dates. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice having the bike trail right there to ride.

Water at each campsite would be a good thing but definitely more dump stations. Otherwise, we love this campground. One of the best and we enjoy going into Pella.

We had my favorite spot to camp. View of the lake, quiet, private and lots of birds to watch!

Beautiful campground, friendly staff. Close to Pella and Knoxville. Pella is great for bike riding, even non-electric.

Great campground. Viewing wildlife was exceptional. The Volksweg Trail was very scenic to ride bikes on. Would definitely go back.

Very good campground. The negative this year has been the change of checking in at 2:00 and checking out at 12:00 is not good. Especially the checking out time. Many campers are weekend campers and don't get on site till after 4-5 pm (because of working) and then to have to shorten the weekend even more by checking out by 12:00 is not as relaxing. Plus shortening the checkout time to 12:00 creates a line of campers trying to dump before leaving. Allowing 2 more hours would help solve that, as many of us like to enjoy the morning before packing up and leaving.Please consider changing the times back to 4:00 check-in and 2:00 checkout for next year.

We were at site 53 and it was a nice level site with plenty of space for our little camper. We enjoyed our time there and the facilities were reasonable and reasonably nearby shower.

Nice size campground. Site 38 had a lakeview. Close to Pella, IA - nice town to spend the day, walking around and seeing all the Tulips (early May). Electric only - 30 amp, sell firewood, dump station and water fill is easy in and out. 3 different loops with shower houses in 2 loops. Nice bicycle trail into Pella, IA and around the Lake. Gravel sites were level.

Had a great time. Our campsite was clean and spacious. The host and staff were very helpful. We toured the various COE campgrounds and we will definitely be going back to Wallashuck

Beautiful big sites. It was early in the season so the shower house needed some work. It was dealt with quickly.

We had a great weekend. Wish there was better access to trash cans. And in this day and age internet access is important. County parks have sewer and water the Government should step up and upgrade. Like the price though. Thanks

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
